Abstract

Wayang berasal dari sebuah kalimat Ma dan Hyanga, artinya berjalan menuju yang maha tinggi, akan tetapi sebagian masyarakat memiliki pemahaman bahwa kalimat wayang berasal dari bahasa Jawa yang berarti sebuah bayangan. Hipotesa bahwa wayang berasal dari kata - kata bayang ini didapat dari bukti bahwa para penonton dapat menyaksikan pertunjukkan seni wayang dengan hanya melihat bayangan yang digerakkan oleh seniman dalang yang merangkap tugasnya sebagai narator. Media informasi yang ada saat ini merupakan sesuatu yang bisa dipergunakan untuk menyalurkan pesan untuk merangsang pikiran, perasaan, perhatian, dan minat sehingga proses belajar mengajar berlangsung dengan efektif serta efesien (Sadiman,dkk, 2002:6) serta Komponen strategi penyampaian yang dapat di muati pesan untuk disampaikan bisa berupa alat atau orang (Degeng, 1989:142). Bilamana media informasi pembelajaran berbentuk komunikasi visual, sudah dipastikan evaluasi pun relevan. Namun pada kenyataannya hal ini masih ini belum terjadi. Digital painting merupakan sebuah metode membuat sebuah objek seni berupa lukisan secara digital. Metode ini digunakan pada seni lukis tradisional dengan memakai pigment warna, cat air,cat minyak cat akrilic dan sebagainya. Sebagai suatu teknik, metode ini digunakan pada berbagai jenis software desain grafis yang berisi alat-alat yang mendukung untuk digunakan menggambar namun berbentuk digital. Teknik ini mempermudah dalam melukis jauh lebih sederhana tanpa mengenyampingkan nilai-nilai seni tradisional (duotonedesignblog). Digital painting sendiri merupakan metode menciptakan sebuah seni lukisan digital atau teknik untuk membuat seni digital dalam computer. Ilustrasi yang tercipta melalui teknik digital painting sepenuhnya dikerjakan dengan peralatan computer dan software desain seperti photoshop. Selain teknik ini lebih praktis dan mampu memangkas banyak biaya material seperti cat, pigmen, kuas dan lainya. Teknik digital painting sekarang mulai marak digunakan karena mampu menghasilkan sebuah ilustrasi yang sangat detail dan baik tidak kalah dengan teknik manual (Aaron Skonnart, 2017).

Abstract

Guna Guna Snack is one of the local food producers in Surabaya. Guna Guna Snack become signature’s of Surabaya since early 2012. The problem is, at this time there are many competitors offer the same products as Guna Guna Snack. So, to attract attention and introduce products to consumers requires their visual communication design such as media promotion to communicate a message for introduce product of Guna Guna Snack and to differentiate Guna Guna Snack with the other signature’s of Surabaya. The research methodology that is used a qualitative methodology with data collection through observation, interviews, documentation, literature, existing studies, and competitors studies. The result of these research will be made a visual communication design such as media promotion in three categories: Above The Line (ATL), Below The Line (BTL), and Through The Line (TTL). With youthful concept and visual displays based on pop art, hopefully it can  be representing the face of Guna Guna Snack. Abstract

Kampung manik-manik kaca bertempatkan di Desa Plumbon Gambang Kecamatan Gudo Kabupaten Jombang, Jawa Timur. Kampung manik-manik kaca menghasilkan sebuah kerajinan tangan yang berbahan utama limbah kaca atau daur ulang kaca dan menghasilkan produk manik yang siap dirangkai dan sudah dirangkai berupa gantungan kunci, gelang, kalung, dan sebagainya. Kampung manik-manik kaca sudah mendistribusikan produknya ke beberapa daerah seperti Kalimantan, Toraja Jakarta dan Bali hingga ke luar negeri salah satunya adalah Italia, Belanda, dan Amerika. Untuk mendukung penjualan di pasaran agar tidak kalah saing dan mengangkat potensi yang ada di Kampung manik-manik kaca agar lebih dikenal maka dibuatlah perancangan identitas visual sebagai upaya mengenalkan kampung manik-manik kaca kepada masyarakat khususnya Jawa Timur. Dengan menggunakkan metode penelitian kualitatif, maka dihasilkan data dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, studi literature, dan studi kompetitor yang berkaitan dengan identitas visual dan brand awareness. Hasil dari perancangan identitas visual ini berupa logo, graphic standard manual, dan menerapkan logo kedalam media promosi.

Abstract

The purpose of designing a book based green iguana reptile introduction of photography as a means of information for the people of Surabaya. To introduce and provide a knowledge of the green iguana reptiles, and also provides maintenance information reptile green iguana well. Further studies conducted using qualitative research methods are observation, interviews, documentation, and literature. To obtain the data used and supports the creation of a book-based green iguana reptile introduction of photography as a means of information for the people of Surabaya. Data were analyzed using multiple stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. After analyzing the data, found a book concept based green iguana reptile introduction of photography as a means of information for the people of Surabaya. Keyword "Beauty", the description of "beauty" is a state of unsightly nature and character of a person, place, object, or idea that provides perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction. An entity that is admired, has a feature that is associated in perfection. Abstract

The story of Aer Mata Ebuh is from Arosbaya sub-district Bangkalan Madura. The story of Aer Mata Ebuh is a story about the obedience of a wife to the husband and the sacrifice of a mother to her children, but unfortunately there is still very little media that contains the story as a medium of learning. From that case researchers want to design the learning media that contains the story. This research uses qualitative method, that is by observation, interview, documentation and literature study to get data to design the media. The media is a pop up book that is useful as a medium of learning and media to introduce the story to children - children.

Abstract

Kumbang tanduk dynastinae adalah salah satu spesies insekta kumbang yang memiliki jenis terbanyak di dunia dan merupakan hewan nocturnal (aktif dimalam hari). Dari banyaknya spesies kumbang, kumbang tanduk (dynastinae) yang memiliki morfologi yang unik. Keunikan insekta kumbang tanduk (dynastinae) terdapat pada metamorfosisnya. Selain itu dapat dilihat dari tanduknya yang menjadi indicator pembeda dengan kumbang lainnya. Terdapat banyak fakta menarik seputar kumbang tanduk yang tidak semua masyarakat mengetahui insekta kumbang tanduk (dynastinae). Dengan kurangnya pengetahuan akan insekta kumbang tanduk (dynastinae), maka peneliti akan membuat media utama berupa buku ensiklopedia yang dikhususkan pada salah satu subfamily yaitu Dynastinae sehingga bisa memaksimalkan semua species dan subspecies dalam satu subfamily, serta media pendukung lainnya seperti x-banner, pembatas buku, dan stiker.

Abstract

Abstract: Surabaya known as City of Heroes since the 10th November incident which known as Heroes Day. The three weeks of war that held on Surabaya many years ago is well known for the biggest war against the foreign nation since the declaration of independent. About 6000-16.000 warriors died, 200 civilians evacuate, and about 2000 peoples from the opponent killed on that incident. It is very equitable if in the future the government established the 10th November incident as the Heroes Day.The fact, not everyone, especially people in Surabaya, knows the people behind the battle. This fact based on the survey that held in 4 junior high schools in Surabaya. The result shows that 63.75% from 80 students can not mention any 10th  November heroes beside Bung Tomo. The lack of knowledge about local heroes can cause the lack of appreciatioin amongst the student in Surabaya. According to that problem, then the goal of this research is to design an educational media in the form of illustration book with aquarelle techniques as an attempt to introduce the people behind the 10th November incident towards junior high school students in Surabaya.  Keywords: Illustration Book, Heroes

Abstract

Museum is one of essential parts regarding tourism industrial especially for historical and cultural tourism. One of the museum that existed in East Java is MuseumNegeri Mpu Tantular that legitimately established at July 25th 1937. This museum owns numerous historical collection. Beside the existed collections, it has special considered collection coming from various zone. However, the collections’ great quantity frequently makes the visitor don’t pay much attention to the special considered collections. According to the aforementioned statement, visual communication through photography book which explains the distinctive collections is clearly needed. This kind of book is expected to clearly and completely inform to the visitor not only about the origin but also the background history from each distinctive collection which is owned by Museum Negeri Mpu Tantular. The method used by utilizing a qualitative research method that starts from collecting data through interviews, observation, documentation, study litelatur, study competitors, until the conclusion. Resulting design photography book with key massage "masterpiece" that has superior meanings or different from the others. Abstract

Art Jaranan Kediri very thick with each show mystical activities, ranging from trance, to eat things that are not natural, such as eating grass and broken glass. Jaranan Dance Arts is one of art owned by the Indonesian state and  many other cultural arts. In the staging of dance art jaranan tells a brief history jaranan dance arts. Unfortunately at this time, jaranan art like this is now becoming obsolete by youngster. Only generation handful of people who still survive to preserve one of Kediri jaranan dance arts. The lack of information in various media to learn the art of dance jaranan, making dance jaranan Kediri began to fade. Therefore, this study aims to create an illustrated book Jaranan with the vector technique to preserve kediri local culture. The design of this illustrated book using the method of collecting qualitative research method used is by interview, observation, literature study, study competitors, STP studies, and SWOT, which is important in determining the design concept of the study. From the results of the data analysis, the concept of which was obtained was nationalist. Said nationalist taken to create a sense of pride in one of Indonesia's cultural arts. This concept will be used as reference in design, both of illustration, the delivery of the message. Because who else is going to continue and maintain the art if not the next generation, which can trigger the awareness to recognize and preserve our culture. Abstract

Mandana Mas is a company engaged in the fashion world that produce accessories made from beads. The purpose of designing this profile video media campaign is an effort to increase brand awareness of a perusaahan. Further research conducted with qualitative research methods that will conduct interviews, observation, documentation, and literacy in order to obtain the data used to support the design of Mandana Mas’s profile video. Keyword of designing video Mandana profile Mas've been through data analysis that has been done. Determining keywords is taken based on the data collected from interviews, observations, STP, literature studies, existing studies, and studies of competitors resulting in "Dynamic" as a keyword designing this profile video. The concept of "Dynamic" aims to demonstrate a business step of Mandana Mas who has integrity and innovative personality.
