Abstract

Learning material by integrating competency in learning process is important. In fact integration of competency in learning material does not conducted yet. An alternative solution to solve this problem was to apply the ICT learning material by integrating Mathematics, Science, technology, disaster, and character values (MSTDC). The purpose of this research were to determine the competency of the Physics students and to investigate the effect ICT learning material by integrating MSTDC to the competency of Physics students grade XI  at SMAN 1 Padang. Type of research was quasi experimental research with randomized control group only design. The population in this research were the students grade XI MIA SMAN I Padang who were registered in the 2014/2015 academic year. Sampling technique was purposive sampling. There were three instruments in this research, tose are test sheet of knowledge domain, observation sheet of attitude domain, and performance sheet of skill domain. Based on the data analysis could be presented the result of this research. First, the average value of students which use ICT learning material of Physics by integrating MSTDC in knowledge domain, attitude domain, and skill domain respectively 87.52, 90.52, and 86.90. Abstract

Batu ginjal merupakan padatan yang terbentuk di dalam saluran kemih akibat adanya penggumpalan zat-zat organik dan non organik yang seharusnya larut di dalam urin. Batu ginjal harus dikeluarkan baik melalui urin maupun melalui terapi dan pembedahan. Sebelum dilakukan terapi atau pembedahan, perlu diketahui komposisi dan jenis batu ginjal yang diperlukan dalam penentuan diagnosis dan tindakan pengobatan yang tepat. Micro CT merupakan modality pencitraan yang dapat menunjukkan struktur anatomi dan morfologi batu ginjal berdasarkan nilai atenuasinya dengan ketelitian dalam orde mikro dibandingkan dengan CT konvensional biasa. Namun, terdapat kelemahan jika menggunakan single energy micro CT dalam pengelompokan batu ginjal. hasil citra pada energi tinggi tidak dapat membedakan dengan baik antara batu dengan densitas yang rendah dan tinggi namun dosis yang diterima pasien cukup rendah sehingga tidak membahayakan, dan sebaliknya untuk citra energi rendah. Dalam hal ini diperlukan metode dual energi untuk membedakan batu ginjal dengan tepat. Sebelum menggunakan metode dual energi diperlukan data perbedaan atenuasi batu untuk penyinaran berbeda. Oleh karena itu dalam penelitian ini dilakukan perhitungan untuk menentukan nilai atenuasi batu. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara komputasi menggunakan software PEGS4. Sebagai input data adalah komponen penyusun batu dan densitas batu. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah, pertama, dengan tingkat penyinaran berbeda, beberapa batu tidak dapat dikarakterisasi dengan menggunakan single energi saja. Atenuasi brushite dan struvite hampir sama, sehingga sulit untuk dibedakan. Kedua, single energi micro CT perlu dikoreksi menggunakan dual energi micro CT untuk mengelompokkan batu ginjal dengan tepat

Abstract

The education process in schools should be able to increase mastery of science and technology and provide training and science process skills that can improve the quality of human resources. Education is the main key to modernization and progress for a nation. In reality, 4C learning on 21st century skills has not been fulfilled properly. This needs to be addressed starting by developing a learning material such as lesson plans. The objective of assisting is to improve the competency of teachers in writing lesson plans. The target of the assisting activity was the teachers in SMPN 2 Baso, Agam district. Methods in assisting include presentation and discussion, group work, independent task, and task presentation. Instruments to collect the data consist of knowledge test. Data analysis techniques were descriptive statistical analysis and paired sample t-test. The result of this assisting is the implementation of assisting on the writing of lesson plan is effective to improve the 21st century skills and independent learning program in the school of teachers.

Abstract

Corona virus disease (covid-19) has spread all over the world and became a pandemic in short time. Indonesia is one of the countries that affected by covid-19 pandemic. Covid-19 changed everything in various area including education. Online learning became one of the solutions in universities in order to keep learning process going. Unfortunately, policy to apply online learning is facing many difficulties associated with infra-structure, student economic capability and time management. Learning video is presented to overcome difficulties of online learning during covid-19 pandemic in subject of Calculus for Physics. The video presents material supported by sample problem and solution. Practicality of the learning video was examined by collecting student`s responses in aspect of ease of use, learning time efficiency, attractiveness and benefits. Data was analyzed using percentage formula to determine criteria of practicality. The result of the observation revealed that learning video of calculus for physics has a good practicality that represented by score of each aspects of 81,26% for ease of use, 83,53% for learning time efficiency, 79,87% for attractiveness and 81,08% for benefits. Based on this result we conclude that learning video is very useful to assist student in online learning during covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, learning video could be one of the best choices in learning media to apply digital and remote learning in facing of Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Di masa pandemi Covid-19, pelaksanaan pembelajaran memberikan tantangan bagi guru untuk lebih terampil dalam mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang interaktif, tidak terkecuali bagi guru-guru di Kabupaten Sijunjung, Sumatera Barat. Pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring masih ditemukan beberapa kendala terutama dalam menanamkan pemahaman konsep yang benar kepada siswa pada mata pelajaran fisika. Program kemitraan masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagi guru dalam mengembangkan media interaktif dalam bentuk program resitasi yang berguna untuk meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa selama learning from home. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 14 orang guru yang tergabung dalam MGMP fisika SMA di Kabupaten Sijunjung. Kegiatan dilaksanakan mulai bulan Juli-Oktober 2021 dengan metode service learning. Ada tiga tahapan yang dilakukan selama kegiatan PKM yakni tahap eksplorasi, elaborasi, dan konfirmasi. Angket disebar kepada para peserta untuk mengumpulkan data terkait tingkat pemahaman terhadap materi pendampingan dan sekaligus sebagai evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan PKM menunjukkan adanya respon positif dari peserta dan dapat menjadi alternatif solusi serta meningkatkan motivasi guru dalam mengembangkan program untuk pembelajaran fisika terutama di masa pembelajaran daring. Guru telah memiliki tingkat pemahaman yang baik terhadap materi pendampingan dan merasakan manfaat dari kegiatan ini. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini juga menghasilkan empat buah produk resitasi interaktif dengan kategori valid. Kata Kunci: MGMP fisika SMA, pembelajaran daring, pendampingan, program resitasi interaktif [English]: During the Covid-19 pandemic, instructional practices challenged teachers to be more skilled in implementing interactive learning methods, including teachers in Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra. One of the obstacles in online teaching and learning is developing students’ understanding of physics concepts. This community partnership program (PKM) aims to facilitate teachers’ knowledge and skills in developing interactive media, called recitation programs, that is useful for remediating students' misconceptions during learning from home. A total of 14 senior high school teachers who are members of physics teachers working group in the Sijunjung Regency were involved. The program was carried out from July-October 2021 with the service-learning method. There were three stages carried out, namely exploration, elaboration, and confirmation. Questionnaires were distributed to participants to collect data regarding the level of understanding of the mentoring material and activities. The results of this program show a positive response from the participants. It could be an alternative solution of teacher-related development programs. Also, it increases the teacher’s motivation in developing programs for physics learning, especially during the online learning period. The teachers have a good level of understanding of the mentoring material and feel the benefits of this activity. Moreover, the program also produces four recitation programs with a valid category. Abstract

Kidney stones are a disease due to the buildup of substances that are not needed in the urinary system. Knowledge of the composition and type of stone is required in the treatment of action. Micro CT is one of the modalities that can be used in determining the composition of kidney stones. However, there are limitations when using single-energy micro-CT. Stone attenuation has almost the same value when using single energy, therefore it is necessary to use dual-energy CT to determine the difference in stone attenuation more precisely. The image of the dual-energy CT micro-energy stone needs to be processed before analyzing and determining the rock composition. Image fusion is one of the image processing techniques that can be used. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of image fusion on the image quality of five kidney stones. The stages in the research carried out are collecting high energy and low energy projection image data, and performing image fusion on the two projected image data. The results obtained are first, the dual-energy CT image fusion affects the image quality which can be seen from the increase in the signal to noise ratio (SNR) value. A high SNR value provides the best image quality information

Abstract

Coconut shells are organic waste, so they can be used as an alternative for carbon source. In this study, the synthesis of graphene oxide (GO) from coconut shell waste will be carried out. The results of the synthesis of GO will then be tested for microwave absorbing properties because it can be applied in various fields, such as information technology, medical equipment, industry, polymer synthesis, and organic synthesis. GO synthesis was carried out using the modified Hummers method. There are several stages in this study, namely the stage of preparing old coconut shells, the stage of carbon activation, the stage of GO synthesis, and the stage of sonication and neutralization of GO. The coconut shell was treated with variations in the sintering temperature to see its effect on the microwave absorbing properties. The sintering temperatures used in this study were 250°C, 300°C, 350°C, 400°C, and 450°C. GO characterization was carried out using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR), and Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to determine the phase, functional groups, and microwave absorption properties of GO. In the results of GO characterization using VNA, it was found that there was an effect of temperature variations. GO can be synthesized from old coconut shell waste using the modified Hummers method and has a GO phase result. The best microwave absorbing properties are at a sintering temperature of 400°C with a reflection loss value of -24.40 dB. Absorbing coefficient 93.97% at 10.40 GHz

Abstract

The manufacture of graphene oxide material based on sawmill waste charcoal has many applications in the field of technology, one of which is microwave absorption. Sawmill waste as the main ingredient is an effort to improve the processing of abundant sawmill waste. This study aims to analyze the microstructural properties of graphene oxide from sawmill waste synthesized by the modified hummer method. Graphene oxide synthesis was carried out using a modified hummer method which was characterized using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD ), and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Based on the results  from SEM, the temperatures of 250˚C and 400˚C are perfect graphene oxide blocks. At 300˚C, 350˚C, and  450˚C in the form of sheets. The best results on sem were obtained at 400C with an average diameter of 31.1nm. Based on the results of XRD, it showed a crystal structure in the form of graphene oxide 250˚C, 300˚C, 350˚C, 400˚C, and 450˚C namely Orthorhombic, Cubic, Tetragonal, Hexagonal, and Cubic with the best results at 400˚C where the size The largest average crystal is 53.1 nm. Based on the FTIR results, it contains C, H, and O bonds in the presence of C=O, C=C, O-H, and C-H bonds

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in cultivating qualified future generations, with active student participation serving as an indicator of effective learning processes. Preliminary observations at SMP Negeri 32 Padang revealed low engagement levels in science classes, prompting the need for interventions to boost students' involvement. The primary objective of this classroom action research was to enhance student engagement in science learning activities through implementing the Discovery Learning model and Teaching at the Right Level approach in a Grade 8 classroom at SMP Negeri 32 Padang. The study was conducted over three cycles, each consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting phases. Data on student engagement in science learning activities was collected through observations using a rubric. The initial data in Cycle I revealed low engagement at 36.72%. After implementing interventions integrating Discovery Learning activities and personalized scaffolding based on students' ability levels in Cycles II and III, student engagement progressively increased to 45.76% and 62.28% respectively. Surveys and interviews indicated students found the learner-centered, inquiry-based activities more enjoyable and effective for understanding compared to traditional instruction. The findings demonstrate the potential of combining Discovery Learning and Teaching at the Right Level methods to significantly improve learning participation by stimulating intrinsic motivation through autonomous exploration while providing individualized support. The research offers practical strategies for enhancing science education engagement and contributes to the Kurikulum Merdeka goals of fostering participatory, flexible learning environments tailored to students' unique needs

Abstract

One solution is to use bioplastics, which can replace synthetic plastics that are difficult to decompose. Starch is one of the materials used in the manufacture of bioplastics because it is naturally degradable. However, bioplastics made from starch tend to be brittle and easily damaged, so additional materials are needed to overcome this problem. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is one of the materials used in the manufacture of bioplastics because it has properties that can be degraded naturally, is non-toxic, and is able to form good quality plastic films. This study aims to examine the effect of PVA concentration and stirring time on the mechanical properties of biodegradable plastic derived from kepok banana peels. This study used a completely randomized design with three variations of PVA concentration (3%, 4%, and 5%) and three variations of stirring time (25 minutes, 35 minutes, and 45 minutes). The results showed that at a PVA concentration of 5% with a stirring time of 45 minutes, bioplastics showed the best quality with a tensile strength value of 2.25 MPa, the best elongation at break was 416%, and the best elasticity was 0.541. In biodegradation, all samples were completely degraded within 7 days. It can be included that the addition of PVA concentration and the length of stirring effecth the mechanical properties of bioplastics but not on the biodegradation test.
