Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of variable locus of control, employee engagement and job satisfaction on employee performance. Distributing questionnaires made to employees of PT TASPEN KCU Semarang by respondents as many as 53 employees. The analytical method used are classical assumption test consist of normality test, multicollinierity test, heteroscedasticity test, and multiple regression analysis and hypothesis testing consist of t test and F test with a significance level of 5%. The result of the research simultaneously using F test, showed that the variables locus of control, employee engagement, job satisfaction variables influence significantly toward employee performance. Partially using t test, showed that locis of control and employee engagement had no significant effect on the results of employee performance. Job satisfaction has significant results on the performance of employees. The coefficient of determination (R square) is 0.147 which means variables locus of control, employee engagement and satisfaction performance by 14.7% effect on the performance of employees, while the remaining 85.3% is explained by other variables not included in the research model.

Abstract

Women who decided to work has several reasons, i.e. for self-actualization and help fulfilling the financial needs of the family. However, the number of women who became a manager (non-entrepreneurs) is still small when compared with the number of male leaders. Women who have positions as a leader of a company have more responsibility and perceived as different compared to the regular career woman. The study was conducted to understand how the perception of the employees against their female manager from the standpoint of gender stereotypes.            This study uses a qualitative research as research methods and phenomology as research approach. Samples taken in this study were 8 persons, of whom 1 female General Manager, 1 male manager, and 6 employees of women and men. The interviewees are derived from the same division, in order to maximize the data obtained.            The results of this study include: (1) Female General Manager doesn’t experience discrimination in the work environment caused by gender, (2) leadership effectiveness by the female General Manager rated good by the employees, (3) the leadership style associated with the communal traits adopted General Manager of women (transformational leadership) preferred by employees, and (4) family and communal negative traits possessed by General Manager caused inhabitation for her career development and self development. The study also provides results that (4) the traits related to gender do not affect the outcome of the evaluation and promotion given by the leaders.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the student’s motivation and the motivation factors to influence on interest in entrepreneurship. According to the vision and mission of the Faculty of Economics and Business UNDIP, to shape the culture of entrepreneurship we needs to know the motivations of students to further accelerate the establishment of entrepreneurial culture. The target population of this study were students of the Faculty of Economics and Business UNDIP who have taken entrepreneurship courses. The number of samples used was 142 students. This study using a multiple linear regression analysis, where the analysis tool is used to understand the extent of the influence of  risk tolerance, self-efficacy in entrepreneurship, and freedom in the work to student’s interest in entrepreneurship. In addition, this study also used ANOVA as the other analysis tools, ANOVA serves as a different test of variance. This study will analyze the differences between student interest in entrepreneurship with a background of parents who worked as an entrepreneur and non-entrepreneurs. The results obtained indicate that all independent variables has a positive and significant effect on the student’s interest to become an entrepreneur, self efficacy was the strongest variable affecting the interest in entrepreneurship. ANOVA test results for different test of variance showed that there was differences students interest in entrepreneurship among parents who work as entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Organizational performance is good if the performance of the employees is also good. Good or bad employee performance can be influenced by various factors. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out how big the influence of job stress, compensation, and employee engagement on the employee performance at Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Kota Semarang based on organizational performance data for 2 consecutive years.This research used quantitative approach with the population of employee PDAM Tirta  Moedal  Kota  Semarang  amounting  to  479  people  with  sample  of  the  research counted 100 people using purposive sampling technique. The processed of data by using the help of SPSS 23.0 version, and the method used in analyzing data in this research is linear regression analysis.Based on the results of the study, it was found that: (1) work stress had a negative and significant effect on employee performance; (2) compensation has a positive and unsignificant  effect  on  employee  performance;  and  (3)  employee  engagement  has  a positive and significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of leadership style on employee performance Education Office of Central Java province, to analyze the influence of labor discipline on employee performance Education Office of Central Java province, to analyze the influence of leadership style on job motivation of Education Office of Central Java province, to analyze the influence of labor discipline on work motivation Education Office of Central Java province, to analyze the effect of work motivation on employee performance Education Office of Central Java province.The sample was 54 employees in Central Java Provincial Education Department, with technical distributing questionnaires then tested the validity, reliability test, the classic assumption test and regression analysis to test the hypothesis.Based on the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that: (1)leadership style significantly positive effect on employee performance so the first hypothesis is accepted. That is the better style of leadership will further improve the performance of employees. (2) Discipline labor significantly positive effect on employee performance so the second hypothesis is accepted. This means that the better work discipline will further improve the performance of employees. (3) The style of leadership in a positive and significant effect on work motivation. So the better style of leadership, the higher motivation to work so that the third hypothesis is accepted. (4) The discipline of working in a positive and significant effect on work motivation. So the higher the discipline of work, the higher motivation to work so that the fourth hypothesis is accepted. (5) work motivation significantly positive effect on employee performance. So the fifth hypothesis is accepted. This means that the higher work motivation will further improve the performance of employees.

Abstract

Recruitmen process and placement of personnel in the Directorate of Central Java Police Drug Investigation Division, has not describe personnel needs, in determining which members of the Directorate of Central Java Police Narcotics Investigation Unit received only members provided by the bureau of human resources. Another phenomenon that occurs in Directorate of Central Java Police Drug Investigation Division are declining morale member in carrying out duties, which have an impact on performance. This study aims to identify and determine the role of leaders in improving the performance of organizations in the Directorate of Central Java Police Drug Investigation Division. Research questions were examined in this study were (1) How does the role of the leader in empowering existing members and placing members in accordance with their competence to fill the right positions? (2) How does a leader in efforts to motivate and inspire its members to improve performance? (3) What is the role of leadership in seeking alternative solutions to the barriers that exist in the performance of the Directorate of Central Java Police Narcotics Investigation?The research  uses qualitative research methods where data collection is done through depth interviews, observations, and documentation that are better able to explore the role of the leader in Drug Investigation Directorate. Validity of the data used is to implement member checking. This study took place at the Directorate of Central Java Police Narcotics Investigation and retrieve objects members and leaders who served in the Directorate of Central Java Police Drug Investigation Division.In this study revealed that the role of leaders in Drug Investigation Directorate in the Central Java Police empower existing members to the fullest. Leaders put members of the right to occupy a position tailored to vocational education has been followed. Drug Investigation Division in the Directorate itself, the Leader has the authority to determine who attend training or vocational education held by the bureau of human resources. In addition, the leaders also held Rakernis which aims to provide training to members on the subject of drug offenses and how to resolve the problem, and to motivate members to get the better performance provided. Leadership role to foster or strengthen motivation to members by giving awards if the performance of a given good and proud member of the institution. The award is given to members in the form of a promotion, or a chance to go to school anymore. Besides other forms of motivation in the form of attention and a real example to the members that can be used as an example in everyday life. In addition, members are given discretion in carrying out the task, as the leader of the task entrusted to members and assume that the member is able to do the job well. While in the process of decision-making and problem-solving, leadership involves its members in accordance with the issues involved, the level of confidentiality, duty and authority so that not all of them are involved in any decision making. Besides always received an opinion leader for the betterment and improvement of the performance of the Directorate of Central Java Police Drug Investigation Division.

Abstract

The purpose of this researched is to know what is effect da workplace training on employee productivity by using a quantitative approach. The subject in the study were employees of PT. Primatexco Indonesia, Batang with a total of 76 persons in the unit weaving using random sampling methods. Method used to collect data in  the  research  is questionnaire. Technique  used  in  the  research  to  get  the conclusion  is  a multiple linear  regression technique using SPSS.Analysis of data using multiple linear regression analysis technique, it shown that Y = X1 + 0.361 X2 0370. It intrepret clear that training and work environment positive effect on employee productivity. Due to the significant value of the training and the work environment is less than 0.05 so, that can be concluded that there is a significant positive effect on employee productivity at PT. Primatexco Indonesia, Rod. The results of the coefficient of determination of 34.3% indicates that the ability of the independent variable (training and work environment) in explaining the dependent variable (employee productivity) while the remaining 65.7% is influenced by other variables.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation, work discipline and job satisfaction on the employee performance of PT. Cen Kurir Indonesia, Jakarta. Fluctuating phenomenon of employee performance level at PT. Cen Kurir Indonesia, Jakarta indicates that employee performance has not been maximized. This study uses three independent variables of work motivation, work discipline and job satisfaction.Data collection methods used in this study is the spread of questionnaires using non- proportional stratified sampling method, the sample used in this study are employees of PT. Cen Kurir Indonesia, Jakarta as many as 73 respondents. This research uses data analysis methods such as validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination test, F test and hypothesis test.The results of this study indicate that the variables of work motivation, work discipline and job  satisfaction  positively  affect  the  performance  of  employees  of  PT.  Cen  Kurir  Indonesia, Jakarta. These variables have an effect of 56.1% on employee performance. The rest of 43.9% influenced by other variables outside of this study.

Abstract

The economic system of capitalism, socialism, or a combination of the two has proved a failure in creating the world's wealthy. The international community now has found another economic system as a solution that Islamic economic system. Perfection Islamic economic system both in terms of theory and practice has been increasingly recognized by the people of Moslem but also non-Islamic people. Therefore, it is crucial to study Islamic economics intensively because someone can know if it is important or not already know. The importance of studying Islamic economics should be well known by members KSEI FEB UNDIP so they must have a great motivation in studying Islamic economics. But from the initial observation shows that most members KSEI FEB UNDIP are less motivated to study intensively Islamic economics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of intrinsic factors and extrinsic motivation of Islamic economics KSEI member of FEB UNDIP. This study uses qualitative data collection conducted by the method of triangulation. The informants of this study is the HEI's senior who is a tutor of a weekly small discussion. The results of this study states that learning is intrinsically motivating factors consist of factors ideals, abilities, and conditions of each KSEI’s member both phisical and psychological (perceptions, interests, attitudes, intelligence). Psychological factor that comes from religious motives is a major influential factor in the intrinsic motivation to learn. While learning to extrinsic factors consist of social environmental factors (inside and outside KSEI), non-social environment (natural and instrumental) as well as the teachers in the learning effort. Mandate as an HEI’s senior and as a board of KSEI has been a major factor influencing extrinsic in motivation adding to the study of Islamic economic.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of training, self-efficacy, and employee engagement on employee performance at Patra Semarang Hotel & Convention. The techniques of data analysis that used in this research were validity, reliability, classic assumption test, t test, F test, the coefficient of determination and multiple linear regression analysis to determine the effect of that three independent variables. Respondents in this study were 62 respondents. The result indicates that there are : training has positive and significant impact on employee performance, self-efficacy has positive and significant impact on employee performance, and employee engagement has positive and significant impact on employee performance. Based on the result of the F test is known that independent variables (training, self-efficacy, and employee engagement) has simultaneous and significant impact on employee performance. Independent variables that have been mentioned can explain the dependent variable by 58,9% while the remaining 41,1% can be explained by other variables. The result of this study are expected to help Patra Semarang Hotel & Convention to repair and make improvements in training, self-efficacy, and employee engagement in order to make employee performance much better.
