Abstract

Dyspepsia is a type of non-communicable disease that occurs not only in Indonesia but also in the world. Dyspepsia is a term commonly used for a syndrome or a collection of symptoms or complaints in the form of pain or discomfort in the gut, nausea, bloating, vomiting, belching, feeling full quickly, and a full stomach. The high incidence of dyspepsia in adolescents is mostly caused by irregular dietary patterns. Dyspepsia can also be caused by several factors, including stress. Stress can affect gastrointestinal function and trigger complaints in healthy people, one of which is dyspepsia. This condition is due to excess stomach acid and a decrease in gastric contractility that precedes complaints of nausea after a central stress stimulus. From the results of the initial interviews conducted on 15 students of State Junior High School 2 Karang Intan, 9 of them had dyspepsia. This study aimed to determine the relation of dietary patterns and stress to the incidence of dyspepsia in students of State Junior High School 2 Karang Intan. This quantitative research used a cross-sectional study design. The number of samples was 56 people. The data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that 56 people (55,4%) met the dyspepsia criteria with a p-value of 0.001 (p <0.05), and 21 people had stress (80.8%) with a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05).

Abstract

The phenomenon of non-communicable diseases not only affects adults but is also beginning to threaten the adolescent age group. Research shows that adolescents often do not realize that behaviors they consider normal, such as consuming sugary drinks, spending hours in front of screens, and lack of exercise, significantly contribute to the risk of NCDs later in life. This community service activity will be conducted using methods including a pre-test, lecture, group discussion, and post-test. Before the activity begins, a pre-test will be administered to the participants to assess their initial knowledge about preventing non-communicable diseases in adolescents. Following that, the lecture method will be used to educate the adolescents about the prevention of non-communicable diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and cholesterol, as well as their risk factors. After the lecture, a group discussion and Q&A session between the presenter and the participants will be conducted. A post-test will be administered again one week later to assess the effectiveness of the education. A significant result of this activity is the increase in students' knowledge regarding the prevention of NCDs.

Abstract

This study explores the prospects for developing halal tourism in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) through the lens of Maqasid Syariah. IKN, as a major project involving the relocation of Indonesia's capital, presents unique opportunities and challenges for the tourism sector, including halal tourism, which emphasizes Islamic values. The background of this research stems from the need to understand how the principles of Maqasid Syariah can be applied in the development of tourism that not only meets halal standards but also supports the holistic well-being of the community. The methodology employed in this study is a qualitative approach, involving document analysis and in-depth interviews. Data was gathered from various sources, including religious decrees (fatwas) from scholars, government policies related to IKN, and relevant literature on Maqasid Syariah and halal tourism. The research findings indicate that the application of Maqasid Syariah in halal tourism within IKN holds significant potential to create a tourism environment that not only adheres to halal standards but also contributes to sustainable development, social inclusivity, and the improvement of the community's quality of life. However, the primary challenge lies in the need for synergy among stakeholders to maintain a balance between economic, environmental, and spiritual needs in the context of developing this new capital city

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve early detection of scoliosis and enhance postural awareness among students through systematic screening, health education, and follow-up recommendations. The activity was conducted using simple yet reliable scoliosis screening methods, accompanied by brief interviews regarding students’ ergonomic habits and the provision of clear, age-appropriate educational materials for both students and teachers. The results indicated that the program successfully achieved its target number of participants and generated initial data on potential postural deviations among the students. Furthermore, participants demonstrated increased understanding of scoliosis prevention and the importance of maintaining proper body posture during daily activities. This program contributed to promotive and preventive health efforts within the school environment and provided a foundation for ongoing postural monitoring initiatives. Collaboration between schools and health or educational institutions is recommended to develop more comprehensive follow-up programs.
