Abstract

The implementation of 21st-century education demands significant shifts in learning approaches, particularly in vocational high schools, where practical skills and creativity are paramount. This study investigates the impact of the Self-Directed Learning (SDL) model on students' motivation and creativity in the subject of electronic circuit applications at SMK Negeri 1 Batipuh. Using a descriptive correlational research design, data were collected from 34 students through validated and reliable questionnaires. The findings reveal that SDL contributes 46.9% to enhancing learning motivation and 39.69% to fostering creativity, indicating its significant influence on both variables. SDL empowers students to take greater control of their learning processes, thereby promoting intrinsic motivation and creative problem-solving abilities. These results align with previous research emphasizing the role of independent learning in improving academic performance and preparing students for the demands of the workforce. The practical implications of this study highlight the importance of optimizing SDL implementation in vocational education, particularly in technical subjects, to develop students' independence and creativity—skills essential for success in the digital era and professional environments. This study contributes to the advancement of effective learning models in vocational education, offering valuable insights for educators and policymakers to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Modul Ajar Penerapan Rangkaian Elektronika yang valid dan praktis bagi peserta didik kelas XI Teknik Audio Video.Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pengembangan atau research and development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D. Model 4D ini terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu define(pendefinisian), design (perancangan), development (pengembangan), disseminate (penyebaran). Setelah menganalisis kebutuhan di lapangan, peneliti merancang Modul Ajar yang kemudian divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan media menggunakan lembar angket validasi. Setelah Modul Ajar valid, Modul Ajar diuji praktikalitasnya dengan menggunakan angket lembar praktikalitas respon peserta didik yang diisi oleh peserta didik kelas XI TAV sebanyak 20 orang peserta didik. Hasil dari penelitian pengembangan Modul Ajar yang divalidasi diperoleh hasil penilaian dari validator dengan rata-rata 91.5% dengan kategori sangat valid. hasil uji praktikalitas memperoleh hasil dengan persentase 85,75% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian Modul Ajar Mata Pelajaran Penerapan Rangkaian Elektronika Kelas XI Teknik Audio Video di SMK N 1 Batipuh sudah dinyatakan valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed home security by enabling automated remote monitoring and control systems. This study presents an IoT-enabled smart fence prototype that utilizes the NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller and the Blynk application to provide secure, efficient remote gate operations. The system allows users to remotely open, close, and lock gates via mobile devices, addressing the limitations of traditional manual methods. Core components include ultrasonic sensors for real-time obstacle detection, relays, and motors, all integrated into a robust hardware-software framework. Testing revealed consistent system responses within two seconds under stable network conditions, with accurate obstacle detection ensuring the safety zone is maintained. Despite network stability challenges, the system is practical, user-friendly, and scalable for residential security applications. Future improvements could incorporate dual connectivity options to enhance network resilience and advanced sensor calibration to improve reliability across varied environments. This cost-effective prototype demonstrates significant potential for modern smart home security applications and future advancements.

Abstract

ICT vocational skills subject at Special Junior High School did not have a learning book for special need students. As a result, the students who have intellectual disabilities have many problems to learn independently. This condition also impacted on student learning outcomes that did not reach the targeted competencies. The purpose of this research is to produce a project-based ICT vocational skills book for Special Junior High School that is valid, practical and effective for learning uses. This study uses research and development (R&D) method with 4D model through Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The data were collected using a questionnaire and one group pre-test and post-test design. The results of the study, it concluded that the project-based ICT vocational skills book for Special Junior High School is feasible, very practical and effective for learning use.

Abstract

Mata kuliah teori rangkaian listrik merupakan salah satu mata kuliah yang membutuhkan media untuk penjelasan mendalam mengenai konsep-konsep abstrak dan kompleks dalam pembelajarannya. Media video merupakan salah satu media yang dapat membantu dalam penyampaian materi, yang mana pada penelitian ini media video yang dikembangkan adalah media video berbasis microlearning. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media video berbasis microlearning untuk mengoptimalkan pemahaman mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dari media video yang dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah rangkaian listrik. Metode pengembangan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalag metode 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa media yang di kembangkan sangat layak digunakan pada pembelajaran mata kuliah Rangkaian Listrik dengan hasil uji kelayakan 85,4%.Kata kunci : Media Video, Microlearning, Rangkaian Listrik The Theory of Electrical Circuits course is one that requires media to provide an in-depth explanation of abstract and complex concepts within its material. Video media is one such tool that can aid in delivering this content. In this study, the developed video media is based on microlearning principles. The aim of this research is to develop microlearning-based video media to optimize students' understanding in learning and to assess the feasibility of this developed video media for the Electrical Circuits course. The development method used in this study is the 4D method (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research reveals that the developed media is highly feasible for use in teaching the Electrical Circuits course, with a feasibility test result of 85.4%.Keywords: Video Media, Microlearning, Electrical Circuits

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi abstrak pada mata pelajaran Dasar Listrik dan Elektronika (DLE) di SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh, akibat keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Canva yang valid dan praktis untuk mendukung pembelajaran DLE, khususnya pada elemen ke-10 tentang Mesin-mesin Listrik, Elektronika, dan Instrumentasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Media divalidasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, serta diuji praktikalitas oleh 10 siswa. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria “sangat layak” dengan total rata-rata persentase dari keseluruhan aspek adalah 87,86% oleh ahli materi dan 91,43% oleh ahli media. Uji praktikalitas oleh peserta didik memperoleh nilai 93,71%, menunjukkan media sangat praktis dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya, media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Canva ini efektif membantu guru menyampaikan materi secara menarik dan mudah dipahami, serta meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap dalam proses belajar.

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop valid and practical interactive learning media using Articulate Storyline software for the topic “Digital Circuits” for Grade XI students of Industrial Electronics Engineering at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. The background of this research is the need for learning media that can optimally facilitate the learning process, enabling students to understand concepts independently and contextually. The researcher employed the 4-D development model, which includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The media's validity was assessed by two subject matter experts with a cumulative score of 92.87% and two media experts with a score of 94.79%, both categorized as “very valid.” Practicality testing was conducted with 20 students and obtained a score of 96.52%, categorized as “very practical.” These results indicate that learning media based on Articulate Storyline is suitable for use as a learning aid in the Digital Circuits instructional process. These findings offer practical contributions to the development of interactive digital learning media and support the enhancement of vocational education quality, particularly in the electronics competency area.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of understanding and learning outcomes among Grade X students in the Audio Video Engineering program at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra in the subject of Dasar-Dasar Kejuruan (DDK), which is attributed to the limited use of engaging and student-appropriate interactive learning media. The aim of this research is to develop a valid and practical interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline for use in DDK learning. The method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4-D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), limited to the Develop stage. Data were collected through observation, validation questionnaires from subject matter and media experts, and practicality testing by students. The results indicate that the developed media received very high validity scores from media experts (86.87%) and subject matter experts (94.12%). In addition, a practicality test involving 15 students showed a very high level of practicality, with an average score of 89.77%. The study concludes that the interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline meets the criteria for validity and practicality and is feasible for use as a supporting tool to enhance the quality of DDK learning in vocational schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan alat pendeteksi banjir berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) guna memberikan peringatan dini kepada masyarakat. Sistem ini menggunakan NodeMCU ESP 8266 yang terhubung dengan sensor ultrasonik untuk mengukur ketinggian permukaan air, serta modul komunikasi untuk mengirimkan data secara real-time ke aplikasi pemantauan. Metode waterfall di gunakan dalam proses pengembangan, meliputi tahap Analisis, Perancangan, Implementasi, Pengujian, dan Pemeliharaan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa alat dapat mendeteksi kenaikan ketinggian permukaan air secara konsisten dan mengirimkan notifikasi peringatan ke aplikasi setelah ambang batas terlampaui. Sistem ini juga mampu beroperasi secara stabil dengan respons cepat, bekerja dengan baik, dan bisa memberi peringatan dini yang fleksibel bagi pengguna tanpa gangguan. Penggunaan alat ini diharapkan dapat meminimalkan risiko kerugian akibat banjir dengan memberikan waktu yang cukup bagi warga untuk melakukan evakuasi dan persiapan.
