Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of ethnoscience-based science modules in Indonesia for junior high school students.  The research method used is a systematic literature review using digital libraries, namely Google Scholar, Scopus, Eric, and Garuda. In this research, several stages were carried out, such as literature search strategies, selection procedures, data extraction, and data analysis. So that the selected literature is relevant, the search uses the keywords "module, ethnoscience, science". Next, a screening was conducted to obtain scientific article publications from 2020 to 2024. Based on keywords, 1990 articles were selected based on exclusion and inclusion criteria, resulting in 21 relevant articles. The results of this research are that the development of ethnoscience-based modules mostly uses ADDIE and 4D models, and materials that are widely used in developing ethnoscience-based science modules are additive and additive materials. It can be seen that ethnoscience-based science modules are effective in improving 21st-century skills. That is it, the results of this research open up good opportunities for new researchers to study this topic further and serve as a reference for researchers and teachers.

Abstract

This examination plans to deliver a sound wave module in light of the CPS learning model that is reasonable for use in the secondary school/Mama physical science educational experience. The sort of exploration utilized is improvement research (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Plan, Advancement, Execution, Assessment). The examination instruments utilized were approval sheets and reaction sheets for instructors and understudies with a size of four likerts given to 3 specialists, 3 educators, and 26 understudies of SMA Negeri 1 Kampar Timur. The information was examined quantitatively founded on the aftereffects of master approval, educator, and understudy reactions. The aftereffects of approval utilizing the typical score directed by three master validators were in the Substantial classification with a typical score of material specialists of 3.67, educational specialists a typical score of 3.53, and media specialists a typical score of 3.60. The reaction of educators from 3 instructors got a typical educator reaction score of 3.71 and was in the generally excellent classification and the members' reaction got a typical understudy reaction score of 3.62 with an excellent classification. In light of the information acquired, the sound wave module given the CPS learning model is substantial and appropriate for use in the secondary school material science growing experience.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of STEM project based learning on improving students' higher-order thinking skills. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent posttest only control group design. The population of this study was all 130 students of grade XII. Then the sample was taken randomly obtained XII IPA 3 as the control class and XII IPA 4 as the experimental class. This study used test instruments in the form of essay questions and HOTS multiple choices. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of the study obtained a sig. 0.027 ≤ 0.05 meaning that the results obtained in the study were that there were significant differences in higher-order thinking skills between classes using STEM project-based learning and classes using conventional learning. Based on these results, STEM project-based learning can improve high school students' higher order thinking skills. These findings indicate that STEM PjBL can function as an effective model to improve analytical, evaluative, and creative capacity in learning in high school.

Abstract

The mastery of students data interpretation and collaboration skills in schools is still relatively low, falling into the “fair” category. Therefore, strategies are needed to improve these skills. This study aims to improve students’ data interpretation skills and collaboration skills through the implementation of the discovery learning model. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. The subjects were 11 grade X ATPH students. Data were collected using a data interpretation skills test and a collaboration observation sheet, both of which had been content-validated by experts. The results showed that teacher activity increased from 82% in Cycle I to 88% in Cycle II, while student activity increased from 80% to 84%. The average student collaboration skills improved from 54% in the pre-cycle to 66% at the end of Cycle I, and further increased to 72% at the end of Cycle II, with all indicators falling into the collaborative category. Data interpretation skills also showed improvement, with the class average rising from 68% in Cycle I to 77% in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the implementation of the discovery learning model is effective in enhancing students’ data interpretation and collaboration skills. This model can serve as an alternative instructional strategy to foster the development of data interpretation and collaboration skills in the classroom.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve science teachers' competence in understanding, assembling, and implementing simple robotic STEM Kits as project-based learning media. Activities include socializing STEM concepts and computational thinking, and training in assembling four types of automatic kits (automatic lights, automatic bridges, automatic roofs, and automatic doors). Evaluation was conducted through self-assessment questionnaires and observations of teacher activities during the workshop. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in mastery of STEM concepts, understanding of STEM Robotic tools, as well as technical skills in assembling components and operating simple carpentry tools. Most teachers were able to produce STEM media independently. Observations also showed high participation, collaborative skills, and self-confidence of participants in testing and presenting the resulting media. This program has a real impact on teacher empowerment in developing creative, innovative, and contextual science learning, and encourages the formation of the STEM MGMP community as a sustainable effort. This community service contributes to improving the quality of learning and strengthening 21st-century skills in teachers and students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a science learning module based on the Manongkah Kerang tradition that is valid and practical for use in the learning process. The research method used in this study is Research and Development (RD), referring to the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The results of expert evaluations including content, pedagogy, and media experts indicate that the science learning module based on the Menongkah Kerang tradition falls into the very valid category, with an overall average score of 3.78. The student practicality test yielded a score of 3.80, categorized as very practical, while the teacher practicality test scored 3.82, also categorized as very practical. These findings demonstrate that the science learning module based on the Menongkah Kerang tradition is both valid and very practical for classroom use.
