Abstract

Objective: The study aims to analyzing the Ability to Solve Symbolic Level Chemistry Problems on Buffer Solution Material at SMA Negeri 1 Mawasangka Tengah aims to determine the ability to solve symbolic level chemistry problems and responses of MIPA XI class students to Three Tier Multiple Choice questions on buffer solution material. Method: This research method using descriptive qualitative method. The entire population in this study was used as a sample, namely all students of class XI MIPA, totaling 60 students. Data collection was carried out using a Three Tier Multiple Choice diagnostic test and a student response questionnaire. Finding: The results showed that the ability to solve symbolic level chemistry problems on buffer solution material was still low, with an average percentage of understanding the concept of 9.77%, misconceptions of 57.75%, and not understanding the concept of 32.48%. Students' responses to the use of three-tier multiple-choice questions were positive, with a percentage of 74.30%; students gave good responses to the three-tier test, so this form of test is categorized as good to identify the level of student understanding in solving symbolic level chemistry problems on buffer solution material. Concusion: From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the diagnostic three-tier test is one of the good test forms to find out about problem-solving skills in the form of problems. Keywords: chemistry problem solving ability, symbolic, three tier multiple choiceDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v13.i1.202310

Abstract

This research aims to determine student learning outcomes, determine effectiveness and determine student responses to the quick on the draw type cooperative learning model on buffer solution material. The sample of this research was class XI MIPA 3 students using simple random sampling. The method used is quasi-experimental with a Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. From the research results, it was found that the learning outcomes of students who were taught using the quick on the draw type cooperative learning model on buffer solution material were obtained on average 79.68 while the control class was 77.42 with completeness of learning outcomes based on the KKM score of 83.9% for the experimental and 61.74% for the control class. Based on the analysis of the N-gain value, it was found that the quick on the draw learning model was effective for use in buffer solution material, this was because the N-gain value for the experimental class reached the high category of 35% while the control class was 19%. The results of the analysis of student response questionnaires showed that 68% of students said they were very interested in the quick on the draw learning model because learning was more fun, and 87% of students were very motivated in learning. DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v12.i3.23.11

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the content of secondary metabolites contained in the methanol extract of swamp sago pulp (Metroxylon sp) and total phenolic which determines the antioxidant activity of swamp sago pulp (Metroxylon sp). Methanol extract of swamp sago pulp was obtained by maceration method. Total phenolic content was determined by folin-ciocalteu method and antioxidant activity determination using DPPH method. Methanol extract of swamp sago pulp (Metroxylon sp) was identified for flavonoid compounds, tannins, alkaloids and phenolic compounds. Methanol extract of swamp sago pulp has a total phenolic content of 73.90 ± 0.073 mg GAE/g with very strong antioxidant activity (IC50 17.38 ppm). Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of interactive learning media based on a 2D virtual laboratory for electrochemistry material and to examine students' responses to its use. The media was designed as a solution to address the limitations of laboratory equipment and materials often encountered in schools. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The media’s validity was analyzed using Aiken’s V content validity, involving three expert validators. The results of the analysis indicated a validity score of 0.86, which falls into the high category, demonstrating that the media is feasible for use. Student responses to the media were also analyzed, yielding an overall quality percentage of 75.98%, classified as good. Based on these findings, the learning media is considered effective and applicable in the teaching and learning process for electrochemistry materials to enhance students' conceptual understanding and practical skills.
