Abstract

Dialysis is a therapy that aims to remove waste and excess fluid from the body. This method replaces the main function of the kidney. Two types of dialysis are known, namely Peritoneal Dialysis and Hemodialysis. Patients with chronic kidney failure are faced with these two treatment options. Both types of dialysis therapy have a risk of complications during the treatment period that can affect the quality of life of patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in dialysis methods of patients with chronic kidney failure with CAPD (continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis) and hemodialysis in terms of quality of life as a basis for palliative care. The research design uses a cross-sectional comparative analytical research design. The independent variable is the action of hemodialysis and CAPD. The dependent variable is quality of life.

Abstract

Cholesterol and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) can be harmful to the body if they are present in large amounts in the blood, causing deposits on the walls of blood vessels and narrowing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving tomato juice and virgin coconut oil on changes in total cholesterol and LDL levels. This research design was a pre-experiment with the One Group Pretest-Posttest approach, conducted at the Blabak Village Posbindu. The population in this study were all hypercholesterolemia sufferers at the Blabak Village Posbindu as many as 60 people, with a random sampling technique and a sample of 20 respondents. The measuring instrument used was a lipid profile examination, tested with a Paired sample T-Test. The results of the study showed that the average change in total cholesterol levels was 26.10 mg/dl and most respondents experienced a significant decrease in LDL of around 20-30mg/dl.

Abstract

Post anesthetic shivering (PAS) or shivering after anesthesia is defined as a fasciculation of the skeletal muscles in the face, head, jaw, trunk, or extremities that lasts more than fifteen seconds. The research design used in this study was a quasy experiment with a control group. With a sample size of 30 respondent. The mean pre and post temperature of the intervention group was (36.4±0.79 and 36.25±1.17) while the mean pre and post temperature of the control group was (36.51±0.71 and 35.17±1.35). The results of the incidence of shivering in the intervention group respondents were found to be the largest in the non-shivering category as many as 8 (53.3%) respondents, while in the control group the largest in the category of muscular activity in general throughout the body there was 6 (40%) respondents. The results of the Independent T Test obtained a p value of 0.014, while the Mann Whitney test obtained a p value of 0.037 so there was a significant difference in the patient's temperature and the incidence of shivering in patients after spinal anesthesia being given a warm infusion.

Abstract

Background: Circumcision using the Super Ring method requires removing the ring after the wound is dry by treating used the principle of moisture. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the difference in the effectiveness of removing the Modern Super Ring Circumcision Device with Olive Drops and Aloe vera Ointment treatment. Method: The research design used Pre-Experimental with a post test only approach, used Accidental Sampling with a research sample of 32 respondents and tested using the Mann Whitney test. The majority of 14 respondents (87.4%) removed the circumcision ring with aloe vera ointment treatment in less than 10 days, while the majority of 15 respondents (93.7%) received circumcision ring removal with olive drops in more than 10 days. Results: The results of the Mann Whitney Test obtained a p value of 0.000, indicating that there was a significant difference, aloe vera ointment showed that the average time required to remove the Circumcision Ring was faster than olive drops. Conclusion: Aloe vera ointment made the wound environment more moist, thereby speeding up the wound healing process.
