Diversity of religions, tribes, and races in Indonesia make Indonesia as a unique and rich country, but it also causes some disputes. It is not one or two times the disputes emerges. This indicates that Indonesians have lack of knowledge about racism and harmonization and how to maintain harmony by respecting and tolerating others. Thus, education on racism and harmonization is urgently needed. This study is going to design or create an educational video that is uploaded to YouTube that is expected to be able to increase people awareness on racism and harmonization. YouTube is chosen because it is easily accessed. The educational video got positive responds that stated that the video can enrich knowledge and increase the awareness on racism and harmonization. This may because the video outlines unique and interesting explanation through the animation and the video is easy to understand.

Present research discusses student satisfaction with the English subject by using hybrid learning. This learning system is a learning adjustment process during Covid-19. High schools in Batam have implemented hybrid learning focusing on English subjects. This research aims to find out student satisfaction with hybrid learning by giving the predictive factor that has been provided and how students develop their English subject. The subjects of this research are 214 high school students in Batam, consisting of 20 schools. This study used a mixed method in which the data collection was done through questionnaires and interviews. This study provides factors in the form of satisfaction with hybrid learning, student's rate the computer literacy, student's perception toward the instructor and online learning, and the data from the questionnaire are strengthened by an interview result. The results showed that students rated computer literacy as the most satisfactory category, with an average of 4.33. Students' perceptions of teachers entered the category satisfied with an average score of 3.95, students' perceptions of online learning were also satisfied with an average score of 3.91, and students' attitudes towards hybrid learning were satisfied with an average value of 3.90. The interview results showed that each factor supported students in developing their English language learning. Each factor has advantages and disadvantages for developing English using hybrid learning.

English has been taught in face-to-face class. However, since Covid-19 exploded into a global pandemic and Indonesia confirmed the first case on 2 March 2, 2020, the local government implement a policy to dismiss schools for avoiding a wider spread of the virus in schools. Covid-19 shifted the way students learn from the traditional face-to-face class to long-distance classes or what is called online class. Still, the way online class is something very new for both students and teachers. As a result, the objective of this study is to find the studentsâ€™ perception of e-learning in English Language Education in Universitas Internasional Batam, this study is conducted. The quantitative method was used by conducting a survey toward 79 students in English Language Education Department. The instrument of data collection were close-ended questions and interview. By concerning the advantage, confidence, effectiveness, and efficiency of utilizing e-learning, the result shows that the average score of the categories is 2.915 which is categorized as positive perception of e-learning.

The 21st-century educational landscape, shaped by technology and diverse student needs, emphasizes digital literacy, personalized learning, and innovative teaching. TikTok's role in enhancing English skills has been explored, showing positive impacts on proficiency and pronunciation. This study investigates TikTok's influence on English learning motivation among students, using a mixed-method approach at SMK Negeri 2 Batam. Classroom observations, questionnaires, and interviews with students and teachers form the data collection methods. Analysis involves defining objectives, data cleaning, selecting appropriate techniques, and drawing conclusions. The study aims to provide insights into leveraging technology for language learning, emphasizing the need for adaptable education to meet contemporary learners' demands.

The study was conducted to explore the effect of TikTok in developing the students’ motivation in speaking. The study was conducted through Classroom Action Research. The involved participants were 25 students from the tenth grade of SMA Kristen Kalam Kudus, Selatpanjang. The study used qualitative and quantitative methods in collecting the data. The research procedures were planned in organized procedures as mentioned: planning, implementing, observation and reflection. The research instruments were questionnaire, pre-test, and post-test. The questionnaire was designed into Likert scale format. Then, the pre-test and post-test were implemented in the study. The post-test took two cycles. The research findings identified that the students’ motivation level was at a moderate level 3.84. However, the post-test showed that the students’ scores rapidly increased and were better than their pre-test. Therefore, the implementation of TikTok proved that it was effective to develop students’ motivation in speaking ability. In conclusion, TikTok application engaged the students to enjoy the learning especially in motivating them to speak. Students were free to express their ideas while making the content.

Abstract: The purpose of this service program (PKM) that we have held in Taman Sari Hijau Housing aims to study the extent of the ability or competence of elementary school children in English in the housing. With a quota of 30 students, we came to the conclusion that most of the students, apart from the lack of access to English content, we also found a lack of interest in English, so the PKM that we conducted was not only about studying partner problems, but also introducing them to English and teaching with more effective methods, and the results showed that children do need a more "fun" approach than memorizing standard vocabulary, so they can use the vocabulary they have learned with more confidence. Keywords: community service; english language proficiency; interest in learning; fun learning methods Abstrak: Program pengadian kepada masyarakat (PKM) yang diselenggarakan di Perumahan Taman Sari Hijau berdasarkan pada kebutuhan dan peningkatan kemauan belajar dan juga minat dalam meningkatkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris di lingkungan tersebut. Terdapat 30 anak-anak pada jenjang Sekolah Dasar yang menjadi peserta kegiatan ini. Berdasarkan hasil obeservasi awal ditemukan bahwa masih kurangnya akses terhadap konten pembelajaran berbahasa Inggris dan juga masih kurangnya minat anak-anak untuk belajar Bahasa Inggris. Dalam pelaksanaannya, kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan dengan mempelajari permasalahan mitra dan kemudian memperkenalkan dan mengimplemnetasikan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan metode yang lebih efektif. Metode yang digunakan adalah Total Physical Response (TPR) yang diterapkan melalui tahapan kegiatan yang terstruktur, dimulai dari pengenalan kosakata sederhana, demonstrasi gerakan oleh pengajar, hingga praktik langsung oleh siswa melalui permainan edukatif (games). Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak memang membutuhkan pendekatan yang lebih “menyenangkan” dari pada penghafalan kosakata yang baku, sehingga mereka dapat menggunakan kosakata yang telah mereka pelajari dengan lebih percaya diri. The implementation of participatory monitoring activities carried out by the Batam International University student group is a form of implementation of the community service program which aims to contribute to ensuring that all stages of the 2024 simultaneous elections held in Batam City can be held in accordance with the applicable election principles. This research uses a qualitative approach, namely through field observation methods. Through a community service program held by Batam International University in collaboration with the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Batam City, the implementation team succeeded in conducting participatory monitoring activities with the target of achieving the implementation of elections with integrity in Batam City, as well as ensuring the conformity between the number of voter data registered at polling stations (TPS) with data on the number of valid/invalid ballots at the time of ballot counting. The output of this activity is that all students are able to carry out monitoring activities at the polling stations (TPS) that have been determined properly, and report the results of observations in the field to the General Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Batam City through Google Form, this is done to ensure the data match on the C-Plano form uploaded through the SiRekap application with the data that has been reported by the monitoring team from Batam International University. With the implementation of this activity, it is hoped that it will be able to increase the awareness of the younger generation to care about the election process in Indonesia.
