Abstract

Ketakhinggaan adalah sebuah konsep penting yang tidak hanya digunakan dalam matematika, tetapi juga dalam bidang lainnya. Ketakhinggaan melambangkan realitas yang menunjukkan kekuasaan Tuhan yang tak terbatas. Dalam tulisan ini dibahas sejarah konsep ketakhinggaan (infinity) dan contoh penerapan dalam bidang komputer.Kata Kunci : Infinity, Paradoks, Aleph Null, Potential Infinite.

Abstract

It is argued that mathematical literacy skills might be improved when learning motivation is high. This study aims to examine the difference in mathematical literacy skills between students who joined a learning model that stimulate motivation, the MASTER learning model (Motivating, Acquiring, Searching, Triggering, Exhibiting, and Reflecting) and those who attended conventional learning in terms of high, medium, and low learning motivation. This is a quasi-experimental study with a population of all seventh-grade students of an Islamic Junior School in South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The sample was selected using the purposive sampling technique with group VII A as the experimental class and group VII E as the control class. The instrument used was a test of students' mathematical literacy skills and a student's learning motivation questionnaire. The data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA. The results showed that: (1) there were differences in mathematical literacy skills between students who attended the MASTER learning model and those who took conventional learning; (2) there were differences in mathematical literacy abilities between students with high, medium, and low motivation to learn, and (3) there was an interaction between the MASTER learning model and learning motivation on students' mathematical literacy abilities.

Abstract

The research aimed to (1) determine students' math anxiety levels, (2) know the level of students' self-regulated learning, (3) know the level of student academic procrastination, (4) determine the relationship between math anxiety and students' academic procrastination, (5) and determine the relationship between self-regulated learning and students' academic procrastination. The quantitative research method used correlational research, which is used to determine the relationship between two or more variables. The population was 152 students in class VIII of SMPN 2 Alalak. Samples were 62 students and were selected using a cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and hypothesis test using the Spearman rank correlation test. The finding showed that, first, the student's math anxiety level is in the medium category with a percentage of 62.90%. Second, the students' self-regulated learning level is in the medium category with a percentage of 54.84%. Third, the level of student academic procrastination is in the medium category, with a percentage of 75.81%. Fourth, there is a positive relationship between math anxiety and students' academic procrastination in Mathematics subjects in class VIII SMPN 2 Alalak. And there is a negative relationship between self-regulated learning and students' academic procrastination in Mathematics in class VIII SMPN 2 Alalak.

Abstract

The general purpose of learning mathematics formulated by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) states that students must learn mathematical communication, mathematical reasoning, mathematical problem solving, mathematical connections, and mathematical representation. This study aims to describe and analyze students’ mathematical reasoning and communication skills on linear programming material through the GI type cooperative learning model. This research is quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent posttest only control group design. The research population was all students of class XI MAN 3 Banjar. The research sample is class XI IIS using cooperative learning model type GI and class XI MIA 1 using conventional learning. Data collection techniques was using observation, documentation, and tests. The results of the study shows that: (1) the mean score of the mathematical reasoning skills and the mathematical communication skills within the students of Grade XI State Madrasah Aliyah 3 Banjar on the learning materials of Linear Program through the GI-Type Cooperative Learning Model is 81.12 and 83.20, respectively belong to the “Very Good” qualification; (2) the mean score of the mathematical reasoning skills and the mathematical communication skills within the students of Grade XI State Madrasah Aliyah 3 Banjar on the learning materials of Linear Program through the Conventional Learning Model is 70.13 and 77.98 respectively belong to the “Very Good” qualification; (3) there have been differences on the mathematical reasoning skills on the learning materials of Linear Program between the students of Grade XI State Madrasah Aliyah 3 Banjar who have been exposed to the GI-Type Cooperative Learning Model and those who have been exposed to the Conventional Learning Model; and (4) there have been differences on the mathematical communication skills on the learning materials of Linear Program between the students of Grade XI State Madrasah Aliyah 3 Banjar who have been exposed to the GI-Type Cooperative Learning Model and those who have been exposed to the Conventional Learning Model.

Abstract

Representasi adalah bentuk interpretasi pemikiran siswa terhadap suatu masalah, yang digunakan sebagai alat bantu untuk menemukan solusi dari masalah tersebut. Bentuk interpretasi siswa dapat berupa kata-kata atau verbal, tulisan, gambar, tabel, grafik, benda konkrit, simbol matematika dan lain-lain. Makalah ini membahas tentang representasi matematis dan contoh penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Radap Rahayu dance is an original dance from South Kalimantan, Indonesia. This dance is a cultural heritage of Banjar, South Kalimantan. It has ethnomathematics potential that needs to be studied. The study aimed to explore the ethnomathematics aspects of the Radap Rahayu dance. The subjects of this research were Banjarmasin cultural figures and artists, dance lecturers and dance teachers The four focuses of this ethnographic research are, finding the mathematical concepts in the movement, musical instrument accompaniment, clothing, and ethnomathematics implementation of the Radap Rahayu Dance in mathematics learning. Data collection techniques using Focus Group Discussion with observation, interviews, and elaboration of the three research subjects. The data analysis technique refers to Miles and Huberman, with data validity using source triangulation. The research results show four things. First, there is a concept of counting, measurement, reflection, circles, and triangles in the Radap Rahayu dance movements/varieties. Second, there is a concept of symmetry, a circle, and an integral symbol on the musical instrument accompanying the Radap Rahayu Dance. Third, there is a concept of a triangle, symmetry, parallel lines, a circle, and dilatation in the costume of Radap Rahayu Dance. And, the implementation of the ethnomathematics aspects of the Radap Rahayu Dance in Mathematics Learning is found in the student module and Worksheets, which contain project-based activities making mathematics more meaningful and fun. Keywords: Ethnomathematics, Radap Rahayu Dance, Mathematics Learning

Abstract

ABSTRAK Matematika adalah salah satu cabang ilmu yang selalu mengalami perkembangan. Dalam pembelajaran sendiri matematika sering dikaitkan dengan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari. Sedangkan budaya sendiri lahir dari aktivitas dan kebiasaan manusia dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Berdasarkan hal tersebut membuat budaya memiliki keterkaitan dengan matematika dan menjadikan sebuah pembelajaran yang berfokus pada kedua aspek tersebut yang disebut dengan etnomatematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi konsep matematika yang ada pada Masjid Agung Al-Munawarah Banjarbaru dalam konteks yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode studi literatur, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Pada penelitian ini analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat konsep matematika yang terkandung dalam Masjid Agung Al-Munawarah Banjarbaru yaitu konsep bangun datar, konsep bangun ruang, dan konsep transformasi. Konsep- konsep matematika yang terdapat pada Masjid Agung Al-Munawarah Banjarbaru tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memperkenalkan dan memahami konsep geometri melalui budaya lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of empathy on prosocial behavior among students at Islamic Higher Education Institutions. Empathy is considered an important psychological component that can encourage individuals to show concern and help others voluntarily. This research employed a quantitative method with a correlational design. The population consisted of students at Islamic universities, and participants were selected using incidental sampling, resulting in a total of 60 respondents. Data were collected using an empathy scale and a prosocial behavior scale. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results revealed that empathy has a significant influence on prosocial behavior among students in Islamic Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

Masjid Jami’ Sungai Banar di kota Amuntai, Kalimantan Selatan merupakan simbol penting umat Islam setempat, yang memadukan keindahan arsitektur khas Banjar dan Timur Tengah, menyimpan nilai sejarah dan filosofi Islami yang mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi konsep matematika, khususnya geometri, dalam bangunan masjid melalui pendekatan etnomatematika, yang secara harmonis mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai budaya. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi dilaksanakan di Desa Jarang Kuantan, Amuntai Selatan, Hulu Sungai Utara, melibatkan pengurus masjid, tokoh masyarakat dan kaum masjid sebagai subjek. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data  yang dilakukan  meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pengujian keabsahan data menggunakan perpanjang pengamatan, meningkatkan ketekunan dalam penelitian dan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan keberadaan beragam konsep matematika dalam masjid, seperti geometri (persegi, persegi panjang, tabung, setengah bola, bola, trapesium, prisma trapesium), simetri (refleksi, dilatasi), proporsi (kesebangunan, kekongruenan) dan bahkan aplikasi integral kulit tabung. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa sejarah pendirian masjid dan aspek filosofi Islami yang terkandung di dalamnya memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang keterkaitan antara budaya, agama dan ilmu pengetahuan. Sejarah pendirian Masjid Jami’ Sungai Banar dan aspek filosofi Islami yang terkandung di dalamnya memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang hubungan antara budaya, agama dan ilmu pengetahuan. Integrasi konsep matematika dalam arsitektur dan tradisi, tidak hanya menciptakan keindahan visual, tetapi juga menjadi jembatan untuk memahami warisan budaya secara lebih mendalam dan mendidik generasi penerus Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memperkaya pemahaman tentang integrasi nilai budaya dalam pembelajaran matematika serta memperkuat hubungan antara ilmu pengetahuan dan dimensi spiritual.
