Abstract

Training of Qasidah Sanggar Seniors Group "Durian Sabatang" Jorong Durian Kamang Mudik Kab. Agam is an activity of community service, which aims to build and develop Islamic life in society based on Islamic values as praised by Allah SWT because it seems that some people abandon the teachings of Islam. This devotion is also based on the lack of knowledge of artists in Qasidah. Methodologically this devotion is qualitative, meaning that the Qasidah activity data obtained on the ground is done through research observations that are useful for knowing, understanding, and studying in depth. So that accurate results are obtained to be given the next training well according to the science, ability and ability of participants. It is then described in writing through words and compiled in a scientific report. Methods used: survey methods, lecture methods, demonstration methods, imitation methods, practice methods, and question and answer methods. The results that have been achieved in the form of reports, and the show uploaded to youtube named emridawati. Specifically, the achievements of this training are, Qasidah players get knowledge and professional playing skills as evidenced through Qasidah performances at Tirtasari Jorong Sonsang attractions, such as: giving birth to a good sound aesthetic, stable tempo, can start and close the show while singing and maintaining cohesiveness in playing together. The show received an audience response to be re-displayed at a later time.

Abstract

The training of tie-dye handicraft was the activity of community service toward the community of “Durian Sabatang” studio in Kamang Mudik village, Kamang Magek Sub-district, Agam District, Sumatera Barat. This training aims at empowering village people with their potentials so they can be trained with tie-dye skill. This training is also one of efforts to boost village people’s economy, whether the results of this training can be sold to the neighboring villages (tourism “Bantoroyo, Tirtasari”) or to the market. Methodologically, this community service was categorized as qualitative design so its data that were collected through observation were then described in the form of written/oral words. Hence it was very useful to know, comprehend, and study the data collected during the activities of this community service in order to obtain accurate results of this community service scientifically. These results were then described and arranged into scientific report according to the format of LPPMPP ISI Padangpanjang. This community service used the techniques of observation, interview, and documentation and the methods of lecture, demonstration, and practice.Result achieved in this community service was the high enthusiasm of the teenagers in “Durian Sabatang” studio highly trained during it. It can be seen from these teenagers’ work result namely creating table cloth, bag, shawl, blouse, shirt, handkerchief, and pillowslip by applying the technique of tie-dye into the white fabric of primissima, cotton, weaving, and calico. For the coloring, five kinds of Batik dye with the composition of blue (AS-D+BBB), pink (AS-BS+S.R), yellow (AS-G + M.B), orange (AS + M.GG), and red (AS + M.B). This training was fully conducted with good patience, seriousness, precision, and cooperation so the participants were successful in making the products. This good result has made the participants want to buy additional Batik materials and colors for retraining.

Abstract

Seni musik Jaranan merupakan kesenian tradisional Jawa yang terdapat di desa Sumber Asri, kabupaten Musi Rawas, Sumatera Selatan. Seni musik ini dimainkan oleh penari dengan menaiki kuda tiruan yang terbuat dari anyaman bambu, diiringi instrument ritmis seperti: Gendang, Kenong, Gong dan instrument melodis seperti: Saron, Rancak Saron, Slerompet serta memainkan lagu-lagu Jawa. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif, menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis, dan pendekatan musikologis. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan seperti: studi pustaka, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk dan estetika seni musik Jaranan memiliki bentuk struktur sajian pertunjukan, unsur musikal dan nilai estetika yang terkandung di dalamnya seperti: nilai subjektif dan nilai objektif serta unsur-unsur estetika seperti: unsur kesatuan, kerumitan, penonjolan, kesimbangan dan kesungguhan. Jaranan music is a traditional art inherited from Javanese ancestors which is also found in the people of Sumber Asri village, Musi Rawas district, South Sumatra. The art of Jaranan music is played by dancers riding artificial horses made of woven bamboo, and accompanied by the art of Jaranan music which plays Javanese songs. This research uses qualitative research methods. Data collection was carried out through literature study and observation, and interviews. The research results show that the form and aesthetics of Jaranan musical art can be seen from the structure of the performance, the musical elements and aesthetic values contained therein such as subjective values and objective values as well as aesthetic elements such as elements of unity, complexity, prominence, balance and sincerity.

Abstract

The Solis Marimba performance presents two compositions, namely the Concerto for Marimba and Tanjung Katung. Concerto for Marimba is a musical composition created by Kees Schoonenbeek, played with two mallet techniques in a modern classical style with piano accompaniment. Meanwhile, the second composition is a jazz version of the song Tanjung Katung played by the Geliga music group. This song was also sung by a quite well-known Malay singer in Indonesia, namely Iyeth Bustami. This song is played with the Malay style two mallet technique using combo band accompaniment. Then the Drumset soloist performed with the song Lexicon created by Isyana Sarasvati in the progressive rock genre through the Combo Band format. The performance method for Marimba and drumset soloists uses performance stages starting from preparation of the composition to be played, individual and joint practice processes, and performance. The results of this presentation show that solo marimba and drumset performances can be performed through the application of stroke techniques such as single stroke, and double stroke, all through the expression, style, and interpretation of the presenter in front of the audience.

Abstract

The song Chasing Dreams is a popular song created and popularized by Maudy Ayunda. This song was rearranged for the needs of non-arts schools to address some students' interest in music. In particular, schools that implement an independent learning curriculum do not have music education. Even though the independent curriculum provides space for students to express themselves freely. To address the school's needs and students' interests, this song will be played by seven students of SMKN 2 Padangpanjang from class 12. The instrument formats used to accommodate the students' interests include Keyboard, Cajon, Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Vocals. The method used to train non-arts students is action research through: lectures, demonstrations, exercises, experiments, and evaluations. The results of this research show that students' interest in this non-arts school is being able to demonstrate their abilities well in front of an audience at the graduation ceremony for PL students at SMKN 2 Padang Panjang.

Abstract

Arts education in every educational institution can be said far from part of societies and decision makers’ thinking even it is far from art educators. In general, the potencial of arts education in educationalinstitutions can only seenfrom one side, that is as the developmentof artistic capability. That is whymany policies and ideas that are produced or uttered are not advantageuos for the students’ future needs. Worrying about this phenomenon of the arts education, it is important to discuss it more carefully and more deeply by employing the following management techniques: destination principle, profit principle, achievement principle, integrity principle, unity principle, and friendship principle. Besides, management is also needed to see the change of human resource development such as; planning, organizing, actuating, and controling. Through the above functionsmanagement is expected to be able to give solutionsto face the competitive future. One of the important elements that isrelated to the education strategy is environment setting in that studying in higher education reallygivesencouragement to every student.

Abstract

SLB Waraqil Jannah is a special school in West Sumatra, which has mentally retarded students who have problems with limited speech, slow thinking and communication. This research aims to reveal this problem through the application of imitation learning of the Bareh Solok song and find out the results of this application. This research is of the Qualitative type with a Descriptive Analysis approach, using Constructivism theory, Imitation theory and Learning theory. Data collection techniques: literature study and field study, and data analysis using Milles and Huberman theory: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that Waraqil Jannah SLB students can perform the song Bareh Solok through the vocals of mentally retarded students as a creativity enhancement which was carried out at Mifan Padangpanjang City

Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan, proses, dan bentuk musik tradisional cenang tigo dalam prosesi adat perkawinan maniti anak dan Pai Balimau. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif dengan memakai pendekatan sosiologi dan musikologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan: studi pustaka dan studi lapangan, sedangkan teknik analisis data: reduksi data, sajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pertunjukan musik tradisional cenang tigo keberadaannya dalam masyaraka,t karena melekat pada upacara adat sehingga sering digunakan oleh masyarakat. Para pemuka adat mewajibkan masyarakat yang melaksanakan prosesi tersebut untuk minta izin terlebih dahulu, hal ini tidak boleh dilanggar dan tidak boleh sembarangan membunyikan atau memukulnya. Secara musikalitas musik cenang tigo dimainkan oleh tiga orang pemain wanita di atas 40 tahun. Dimana masing-masing pemain bermain secara kompak dan indah menggunakan teknik interlocking yaitu melahirkan jalinan pola ritme yang berbeda dari ketiga instrumen. Adapun nada yang dimainkan oleh para pemain cenang tigo antara lain: Cenang Partamo mendekati nada (B/si), Cenang Kaduo mendekati nada (D#/re), dan Cenang Paningkah mendekati nada (G/sol).Kata Kunci : Cenang Tigo, Keberadaan, Prosesi Adat.     ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the existence, process, and form of traditional cenang tigo music in the customary marriage procession of Maniti Anak and Pai Balimau. This research is a qualitative type using sociology and musicology approaches. Data collection techniques used: literature study and field studies, while data analysis techniques: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that traditional cenang tigo music performances exist in society because they are attached to traditional ceremonies so that they are often used by the community. The traditional leaders oblige the people who carry out the procession to ask for permission first, this cannot be violated and they cannot be randomly honked or hit. Musically, Cenang Tigo is played by three female players over 40 years. Where each player plays compactly and beautifully using the interlocking technique, which creates a different rhythmic pattern from the three instruments. The notes played by the tigo cenang players include: Cenang Partamo approaching the tone (B/si), Cenang Kaduo approaching the tone (D#/re), and Cenang Paningkah approaching the tone (G/sol).                                                                  Keywords: Form Of Performance, Cenang Tigo Music

Abstract

This article is the result of research into the Si'ulu death ceremony in the village of Bawömataluo, South Nias, Sumatra, Indonesia which uses Nias customs using the traditional art of Famözi Göndra which has a melodic interweaving of percussion instruments. This traditional music research is a qualitative research with a descriptive analysis method to analyse the musical elements found in the community of Bawömataluo Village, South Nias. Data coded from various performances of Famözi Göndra, in the form of musical elements, were reduced, then presented descriptively. The elements of traditional Famözi Göndra music include instruments and performers. In addition to musical elements such as: Rhythm, Melody, Timbre, and Tempo can be enjoyed by the audience.

Abstract

Pertunjukan Gandang Lasuang oleh grup Nyiur Melambai dalam upacara pernikahan di Kecamatan Sasak Ranah Pasisia, Kabupaten Pasaman Barat, memiliki bentuk pertunjukan yang unik dan menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk pertunjukan tersebut serta mengungkapkan elemen musiknya dengan fokus pada interaksi antara seniman dan audiens dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analisis, didukung oleh pendekatan musikologis. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup studi pustaka dan studi lapangan, sedangkan analisis data meliputi pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian, serta verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan unsur-unsur penunjang pertunjukan yang meliputi pemain, instrumen, lagu, kostum dan rias, tempat, waktu, serta audiens. Pada aspek komposisi musik, ditemukan struktur yang terdiri dari pendahuluan (intro), bagian utama berupa lagu, dan penutup (coda). Studi ini menegaskan bahwa Gandang Lasuang tidak hanya berperan sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai elemen budaya yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai adat dan identitas masyarakat setempat.
