Abstract

In the first quarter of 2022 (1 January – 31 March) in Indonesia, there are problems related to the increase in the prices of basic necessities which can increase the amount of initial capital needed in a milkfish (Chanos-chanos) cultivation business. So it is necessary to conduct an initial simulation study of the feasibility analysis of milkfish cultivation to determine the capital and business feasibility for milkfish cultivation in the first quarter of 2022. The method used in this study is a library research method, where the data collection method is entirely with data. Secondary or literature study. Secondary data is collected by reviewing from references in the form of journals, books, and online articles that are still related. The calculation of business feasibility analysis is carried out by calculating investment costs, fixed costs, variable costs, calculating production costs, revenues, profits, BEP Rupiah, BEP Units, R/C Ratio, and PBP. Furthermore, an analysis of the supporting and inhibiting factors of the business as well as an analysis of the marketing strategy in the milkfish cultivation business was carried out. The results of the calculation of business feasibility simulations show that the production cost is Rp. 78.276.800, revenue is Rp. 1.344.000.000, profit is Rp. 950.861.600, Rupiah BEP is Rp. 192.549.566, which means the turning point will be achieved if sales reach Rp. 192.549,566. , BEP Unit is 9627 fish, which means the turning point will be reached if milkfish production reaches 9,627 fish. The R/C Ratio obtained is 1.7 and the PBP is 0.3 years, where the investment capital of this milkfish cultivation business will return within a period of 0.3 years or 3.6 months. Therefore, the milkfish cultivation business for the first quarter of 2022 can be said to be profitable and feasible to run.

Abstract

Tepung daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) dapat menjadi salah satu sumber protein alternatif untuk pakan ikan dan penggunaannya dapat mempengaruhi jumlah dan proporsi bakteri di saluran pencernaan ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jumlah dan proporsi bakteri berdasarkan sifat Gram di di saluran pencernaan ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) yang beri pakan dengan penambahan tepung daun kelor. Kelimpahan bakteri saluran pencernaan ikan dihitung menggunakan metode total plate count menggunakan media Trypticase soy agar (TSA) dari empat kelompok ikan yang diberi pakan komersil dengan penambahan tepung daun kelor sebanyak: 1) 0 g/kg pakan (kontrol), 2) 2 g/kg pakan, 3) 4 g/kg pakan dan 4) 6 g/kg pakan. Uji sifat Gram dilakukan menggunakan larutan KOH 3% untuk menghitung proporsi bakteri Gram positif dan negatif. Hasil menunjukkan jumlah bakteri di saluran pencernaan ikan perlakuan (4,59-5,07 x 107 CFU/g) cenderung lebih rendah dibandingkan pada ikan kontrol (5,29 x 107 CFU/g). Komunitas bakteri di saluran pencernaan ikan mas dalam penelitian ini didominasi oleh bakteri Gram negatif (83-89%). Proporsi bakteri Gram positif pada ikan yang diberi tepung daun kelor relatif lebih tinggi (15-17%) dibandingkan proporsi bakteri tersebut pada ikan kontrol (11%). Meskipun tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan, hasil ini mengindikasikan penggunaan tepung daun kelor sampai 6 g/kg pakan dapat mempengaruhi komunitas bakteri saluran pencernaan ikan.

Abstract

Plawangan Timur Segara Anakan lagoon is known as the unique aquatic ecosystem that supports the life of aquatic organisms by providing nursery and feeding grounds. However, the Eastern Part of Segaran Anakan Lagoon is also utilized by many industrial and domestic activities that could degrade the quality and quantity of the aquatic ecosystem. This research aims to decribe the composition, diversity, and ecological niches of ichthyofauna from Eastern Segara Anakan Lagoon. Sampling was conducted on 29 June and 19 July 2023, using gillnets which have 1–2-inch mesh size. The diversity of ichthyofauna analyzed using the diversity indices while the distribution of the ichthyofauna were performed using Cannonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). This study found 120 individuals of fish, that is comprised of 21 species, 19 families and 11 orders. The fish comprised of 18,34% adult and 81,66% juvenile. Most fishes were categorized as marine-freshwater-brackish resident and only I. japonica and S. commersoni species are true marine fishes. The diversity indices showed that Kali Panas station have the highest diversity indices and the lowest indices value were in Ujung Galang station. CCA showed that most fishes that are categorized as Marine, Marine-Reef-associated, and Marine, Brackish, Reef-Associated resident were found in high salinity waters.

Abstract

Aeromonas hydrophyla is a gram negative bacteria, which often infects tilapia and causes internal damage to the liver, spleen and kidneys. Tilapia Sultana, Nirwana and Larasati are superior strains that have fast growth and are resistant to disease. This study was conducted to observe and compare the physiological response of the three strains to Aeromonas hydrophyla infection through blood profiles. The blood profile can describe the health status of the fish. The parameters of the blood profile observed were the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit, blood glucose, lymphocytes and monocytes. The results showed that the erythrocytes, monocytes and polymorphonuclear counts of the three strains were significantly different, while for hemoglobin, hematocrit, glucose, and lymphocytes were not significantly different.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ikan petek (Leiognathus equula) merupakan ikan demersal yang dapat hidup di muara sungai maupun laguna pada kedalaman 10 meter sampai 60 meter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tipe pola pertumbuhan ikan petek berdasarkan hubungan panjang bobotnya serta menganalisis kebugaran ikan petek. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada 24 Juni 2023, 23 Juli 2023, serta 19 Agustus 2023 menggunakan jaring rampus dengan panjang 36.576 meter, lebar 6.4008 meter, dan ukuran mata jaring yaitu 1 inci dan 2 inci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan panjang bobot ikan petek yang didapatkan memiliki nilai b kurang dari 3 (2.3907) sehingga dapat dikatakan pola pertumbuhannya alometrik negatif (pertumbuhan panjang lebih cepat daripada pertumbuhan bobotnya). Hasil faktor kondisi yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini memiliki kisaran antara 0.7554 - 1.2153 dengan rata-rata 1.0082 + 0.1272 yang menandakan bahwa ikan petek pada penelitian ini memiliki bentuk tubuh agak montok.

Abstract

Hotate clams (Patinopecten yessoensis) are a species of Bivalvia that is often found in the waters of Funka Bay, Hokkaido, Japan. The information regarding the relationship between length and weight and condition factors for hotate clams is important for knowing their growth patterns. This research aimed to examine the length-weight relationship and conditions of 56 Hotate clams collected in August of 2022 at two different locations. The relationship between length-weight and growth patterns shows that the range of b values at stations A and B is 2.45, and 1.86 in the waters of Funka Bay while the growth pattern in Funka Bay displays negative allometric growth with r values ranging from 0.90-0.92 (strong positive correlation). The condition factor values for Hotate clams at stations A and B are 5.45 and 1.28. There is a good welfare value for Hotate clams because the condition factor (Kn) is greater than one.

Abstract

The high cost of commercial feed in Nirwana tilapia aquaculture leads to elevated production costs and reduced profits. As a solution, the provision of natural feed is proposed as an alternative to reduce production expenses. This study aims to compare the growth of Nirwana tilapia fed with three different natural feeds: Tubifex sp., Chironomus sp. larvae, and maggots. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design with three replicates for each treatment. The feeding rate was 3% of the fish’s body weight, administered three times a day. The parameters measured included absolute biomass, absolute length gain, daily growth rate (Specific Growth Rate, SGR), survival rate (SR), and water quality during the 30-day rearing period. The results showed that feeding Nirwana tilapia with Tubifex significantly increased growth compared to the control group (commercial pellets), Chironomus larvae, and maggots. The absolute biomass from Tubifex feeding was 5.23 ± 0.89 g, absolute length was 4.2 ± 7.8 cm, SGR was 1.52 ± 0.33%, and SR was 90%. The next highest growth was seen in Chironomus larvae, followed by maggots, with the control yielding the lowest results.

Abstract

Karya Mina Sentosa merupakan salah satu Kelompok Pembudidaya Ikan yang berlokasi di Desa Singasari, Kecamatan karang lewas, Kabupaten Banyumas yang berfokus pada kegiatan pendederan dan pembesaran ikan gurami. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra tentang sistem pendederan ikan gurami dengan menggunakan kolam terpal. Metode yang diterapkan adalah Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) yang merupakan metode pendekatan partisiptif masyarakat. Serangkaian kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi survey pendahuluan dan identifikasi permasalahan, pelatihan pembuatan kolam pendederan ikan gurami, pelatihan pendederan ikan gurami, dan monitoring evaluasi. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pihak mitra mengenai pembuatan kolam terpal bundar untuk pendederan ikan gurami dan metode pendederan ikan gurami yang baik dan benar untuk menghasilkan produktifitas yang optimal.

Abstract

Potensi sumber daya alam yang dimiliki Desa Babakan, Kecamatan Karanglewas, Banyumas yaitu sumber air yang melimpah sehingga memunculkan inisiatif masyarakat untuk mengembangkan usaha budidaya perikanan. POKDAKAN Samawa Fish menjadi pegiat usaha perikanan dengan fokus kegiatan pada pembenihan dan pendederan ikan gurame. Kendala yang dihadapi POKDAKAN Samawa Fish yaitu terbatasnya lahan budidaya serta kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan anggota mengenai pembenihan ikan gurame. Tujuan pengabdian ini yaitu memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada POKDAKAN Samawa Fish mengenai pembenihan dan pendederan ikan gurame yang baik. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) yang melibatkan mitra secara aktif. Hasil pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan yakni POKDAKAN Samawa Fish telah mengetahui skill dan pengetahuan mengenai pembenihan, pendederan ikan gurame, manajemen budidaya hingga pasca panen, dan pemanfaatan kolam terpal menjadi alternatif pemecahan masalah untuk mengatasi kendala di POKDAKAN Samawa Fish.

Abstract

Salt and herbal supplementations in fish feed are expected to promote aquaculture productivity, including for slow-growing fish such as Bonylip barb (Osteochilus vittatus). The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth performance and occurrence of Aeromonas spp. in the intestine of Bonylip barb fed a diet supplemented with salt and herbs. This experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design with four treatments: 1) control, 2) salt 3% supplementation, 3) herbal supplementation, and 4) Salt 3% and herbal supplementation. Growth performance evaluation included weight gain, relative growth rate, and specific growth rate after 30 and 60 days of rearing.  Bacterial samples were isolated on trypticase soy agar (TSA) and glutamate starch phenol red agar (GSP) media. Yellow colonies on GSP were counted and confirmed as Aeromonas spp. via molecular identification based on 16S rDNA sequence. Results showed that herbal supplementation, either alone or in combination with 3% salt, insignificantly increased the fish growth performance in the short-term (30 days), but tended to decrease it over the long-term (60 days). Salt supplementation consistently decreased fish growth performance but improved fish survival rates. Aeromonas isolates comprised more than 60 % of the culturable intestinal bacteria in all treatments. Furthermore, herbal supplementation appeared to increase the percentage of Aeromonas spp. in the intestine, with identified species including Aeromonas veronii, Aeromonas caviae, and Aeromonas jandaei.
