Abstract

This paper aims to find out the causes of conflict in schools, how the style and techniques of conflict management, what are the approaches to conflict management in schools and the influence of schools on conflict-based management models at junior high schools in Greater Aceh. Conflict is a process expressed by two or more parties. Conflict affects all components of the school. Therefore, leaders and teachers must understand the management of conflicts that arise where they can have a positive impact on improving school quality. Furthermore, the authors want to develop a school model of conflict management based. This model is a resolution or stimulation technique to produce the desired resolution, especially in the development of schools based on conflict management models that are focused on producing instrument formulation. Based on the findings of the data, it was concluded that job satisfaction can be improved by increasing conflict management and teacher empowerment by the principal. The results of this study can also be useful for improving the quality of conflict management and teacher empowerment by principals to improve overall job satisfaction.

Abstract

Enhancing Students’ Speaking By Using Story Telling Technique (STT) (An Experimental Research at MTsN 2 Aceh Besar). This research aimed to find out the students’ speaking ability by using story telling technique, the focus is on fluency and vocabulary in speaking. The instruments of the researcher is test and questionnaires. The main subjects of this researcher are 32 students of VIII-I at MTsN 2 Aceh Besar. The data quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative data is gained from test and the qualitative data is gained from questionnaires. After analyzing data, the score of pre-test the lowest score is 20 and the higher score is 50. After applying the technique she give the students post-test score could be seen in the table 4.1.6 (60 and 85). While the lowest value of questionnaires is 0% and the highest value is 68.75%. Based on the score, it is suggested that the teacher should help and understand their students before teaching them. This can be done by giving the students’ chose to ask questions, involve in discussing, express their ability in English, and try to help the students to investigate and solve their problems in learning English. Moreover, the students should increase their ability in English by trying to enrich their knowledge and reading related books.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the types of errors made and difficulties faced by the students at SMA Negeri 1 Ingin Jaya when writing simple past sentences. This study used a descriptive design. The sample was 30 grade-10 students at SMA Negeri 1 Ingin Jaya. The instruments used in this study were tests and interviews that was given to the participants to find out the types of errors and the difficulties faced by them in writing the simple past tense. The data analysis technique used in this study were the percentage formula for test and interview analysis based on Miles et al. (2013). Based on the results of this study, it was found that there were 26% of students made an error in omission, 71,33% in misinformation and 2,67% in misordering. The highest error was in misinformation. Based on the result of the interviews, it was found that there were several difficulties faced by students in writing simple past tense sentences; the students have difficulties in determining and using the correct form of regular and irregular verbs, and they have lack of knowledge about simple past tense material.

Abstract

Some strategies used by teachers when teaching English seemed to be less effective, causing the students to have a comprehension difficulty, including in reading. This issue was also found among the students of SMA Negeri 1 Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar. This study was therefore conducted to find out whether or not the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Darul Imarah taught reading comprehension by using KWL Strategy will receive a higher score than those taught without KWL Strategy. This study used the quantitative method with experimental design. Sixty students were taken as the sample. The data were analyzed by using t-test, and the result showed that the t-score of two means between post-test of experimental and control group was 2.19 thus, the t-test was higher than the critical value of the t-test for the degree freedom of 58 (167) at the level of significance 0.05.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar peserta didik melalui media puzzle pada subtema tugasku sehari-hari di rumah di kelas II SD Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. Pendekatan menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis pre-eksperimen dan one group pre test-post test design. Sampel berjumlah 34 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Data analisis menggunakan uji Mann Whitney pendekatan Z. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan Zhitung =5,30 sedangkanZtabel =1,96. Hₐ diterima jika Zhitung Ztabel, maka Hₒ ditolak. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah penerapan penggunaan media puzzle sangat berpengaruh pada prestasi belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Kinerja guru merupakan salah satu faktor yang penting bagi terselenggaranya pendidikan dan pembelajaran yang bermutu. Upaya perbaikan kinerja dipengaruhi beberapa faktor, diantaranya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah. Tujuan penulis untuk mengetahui gambaran kepemimpinan pendidikan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. Penelitian ini kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan analisis kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dan kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian mengambarkan bahwa kinerja setiap orang dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, diantaranya sebagai berikut: (1) Kompetensi Individu, (2) Dukungan Organisasi, (3) Dukungan Manajemen. Upaya kepala sekolah terhadap pembinaan kinerja guru meliputi tanggung jawab terhadap tugas, disiplin, dan komitmen.

Abstract

Teacher performance is one of the important factors for the implementation of quality education and learning. Efforts to improve performance are influenced by many factors, including the leadership of the principal. The author in this article will explain the description of the principal's leadership in making plans, compiling school organizations, acting as coordinators and directors, and carrying out staffing management. Teacher performance and development, factors that affect teacher performance, factors that can improve performance, teacher performance in the teaching and learning process, human resource development strategies, principals' efforts to foster teacher performance. In its application, teacher performance improvement can be seen from teaching and learning interactions, learning preparation, learning process, evaluation of learning determined by the leadership of the principal.

Abstract

Conflict resolution education is an effort to overcome problems faced by students, especially in increasing learning motivation. Students are inseparable from conflict. Both conflicts that occur from within the individual itself (personality) and conflicts that originate from outside the individual (interpersonal) such as conflicts between individuals and groups. Not all students have conflict resolution skills. Meanwhile, conflict resolution skills are very important for students to have to solve the problems faced in their lives in the future. Conflict resolution skills must be done are: able to orient, able to understand that each individual is different, able to see situations, empathize, and blame others, able to manage emotions, able to communicate well, able to think creatively in solving problems, able to think critically in predicting in analyzing conflicts. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the sociocultural values in the novel Laksamana Malahayati Sang Perempuan Keumala by Endang Moerdopo. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data source of this research is the novel Laksamana Malahayati Sang Perempuan Keumala by Endang Moerdopo 2018. The data collection method in this research is reading, recording, and categorizing the novel Laksamana Malahayati Sang Perempuan Keumala by Endang Moerdopo. Data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The sociocultural values contained in this novel, namely the way of thinking, attitudes and beliefs, the way characters believe in something, social values and norms, the way of living traditions/habits that can be seen from the attitude of the character Keumala Hayati in fighting for what she wants

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether the students at SMAN 16 Banda Aceh who are taught English vocabulary by using line Webtoon get higher score compared to those who are not taught by using line Webtoon. This research used a quantitative approach with pre-experimental design, one group pre-test and post-test. The population in this study were 20 of class XI (IPA), and the total sample was 20 students consisting of one class, consisting of 11 males and 9 females. The data was collected through tests, namely a multiple choice question test. The results of data analysis showed that the average pretest score of students was 38.00. While the average score of the students' post-test was 77.25. The increase obtained from the average score of the pre-test and post-test was 39.25. In addition, the SPSS results show that a significant value (sig-2 tailed) of 0.00 is less than 0.05 (0.000.05), which means that Ho is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between students who are taught vocabulary using the line Webtoon get a higher score than students who are not taught using the line Webtoon. It is concluded that line Webtoon has an effect on improving students’ vocabulary mastery.
