Abstract

Strength and Conditioning (S&C) is an important component in preparing and improving athlete performance, especially in the sport of pencak silat which demands optimal strength, speed, endurance, and movement quality. This community service activity was carried out at the Pagar Nusa Martial Arts Student Activity Unit of UIN Syekh Wasil Kediri with the aim of improving the understanding, knowledge, and abilities of coaches and athletes in developing and implementing S&C programs that are in accordance with the characteristics of pencak silat. The methods used included material socialization and field practice assistance to 52 participants, consisting of coaches, trainers, and athletes. The results of the community service showed that before the activity began, all participants had understood the basic concepts of S&C, but did not yet understand good and correct movement techniques according to the principles of sports science. After the delivery of the material, discussion, and practice, all participants (100%) showed an increase in understanding regarding the concept of S&C, the principles of hypertrophy, biomotor, movement techniques, and the development of training programs for strength, endurance, speed, and the needs of each age category. The activity ran smoothly and received a very positive response from all participants. Thus, this service has succeeded in increasing the participants' competence in applying sports science-based Strength and Conditioning to optimize pencak silat performance.

Abstract

Background: Volleyball in Madiun City is increasingly competitive, so it is necessary to improve physical condition. The UNIPMA Volleyball Team won 2nd place in the PPMI Volleyball Cup in the framework of the 10th PPI Anniversary. Of course, this must be maintained and must always be improved. Therefore, an explosive analysis of the leg muscle power of male and female volleyball players at PGRI Madiun University in 2026 must be carried out as a basis for determining the training program. Method: This study uses a survey method using test and measurement techniques. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population is 30 athletes, a sample of 30 athletes as well, consisting of 15 male athletes and 15 female athletes. Using a total sampling technique. The test instrument uses a vertical jump test. Results: The results of male athletes with an average power of 439.2 joules / second (439 watts). The results of the female athletes' with an average power of 274.413 joules/second (274 watts). Conclusion: The power of male athletes with a percentage of 20% for the classification of "Very Good" and 80% for the classification of "Good". While the power of female athletes with a percentage of 40% for the classification of "Good" and 60% for the classification of "Medium".

Abstract

Badminton extracurriculars always provide opportunities for students to be directly involved in various learning experiences through activities and games that are carried out in a systematic, planned and directed manner. When there is an improvement in fitness and skills in each school as a continuation of the badminton training subjects, students become good, in this case the teacher when providing material provides creativity and innovation so that it is easier to be accepted, understood and practiced by every student. Determining modifications or choosing strategies for learning activity needs to consider, tools, and time based on student characteristics. Badminton extracurricular training requires modifications because an extracurricular coach explains several aspects related to modifications so that the training can run actively, efficiently and effectively. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of game modification on student activity in badminton training at SMP 4 Madiun City. In this study, the researcher used the following research methods with the type of pseudo-experiment through a quantitative approach, as well as the design used by One Group pre-test-post-test, the number of samples used was 22 students. Data was collected using the Focus Proportion Analysis (APF) instrument. In the calculation value of Pre-Test ATA is 62.5% and SDE is 45% while for the calculation value of Post-test ATA is 67.5% and SDE is 50.7% which means that there is a difference in the calculation value of ATA 5% and SDE 5.7% and the percentage increase in pre-test and post-test is 11.8%. Meanwhile, from the analysis of the T test, namely Tcount or sig (0.00) < Ttable (0.05) which means that there is an effect of game modification on student activity in badminton training at SMP 4 Madiun City. So it was concluded that there was a significant influence on the activeness of students' movements before and after the application of game modification. It can be said that by providing game modifications, it can have a significant influence on student activeness in badminton training at SMP 4 Madiun City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the leg muscle power levels of Madiun City powerlifting athletes in 2026. The study employs a survey method with a quantitative descriptive approach. The research population consists of 10 Madiun City powerlifting athletes. A total sampling technique was used, meaning the entire population served as the research sample. The Vertical Jump Test (Sargent Jump Test) was used to measure the athletes' vertical jump height. The jump results were then converted into Joules using the potential energy formula based on body mass, gravitational acceleration, and jump height. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, including the mean, standard deviation, variance, minimum value, and maximum value. The results show that the vertical jump measurements yielded a mean of 51.20 cm, a standard deviation of 18.12, a variance of 328.40, a minimum value of 7 cm, and a maximum value of 61 cm. After conversion to Joules, the muscle power values showed a mean of 591.25 Joules, a standard deviation of 233.30 Joules, a variance of 54,427.97, a minimum value of 77 Joules, and a maximum value of 777 Joules. These results indicate significant variation in leg muscle power capabilities among the Madiun City powerlifting athletes. The athlete with the highest power value reached 777.36 Joules, while the lowest value was 77.30 Joules. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the muscle power of Madiun City powerlifting athletes falls into varied categories. This variation in ability highlights the need for periodic physical condition assessments to serve as a basis for designing more specific training programs aimed at enhancing explosive muscle power and supporting improved athletic performance

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the biomotor component of speed in pencak silat, particularly in the crescent kick technique, which requires explosive power to produce effective attacks. The main objective of this study was to determine the differences and magnitude of the effect of administering a 1.5 kg resistance band training method on the speed of the crescent kick in female adolescent athletes. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population and sample in this study were 30 female adolescent pencak silat athletes from SMAN 1 Maospati, selected using a total sampling technique. The instrument used was a 10-second crescent kick speed test using a punching bag. Data analysis techniques included a normality test (Shapiro-Wilk), a homogeneity test (Levene's Test), and a hypothesis test using a Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed a significant increase in kick speed after the treatment. Based on the paired sample t-test, a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) was obtained for both the right and left legs, meaning H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Descriptively, the average kick speed of the right leg increased by 5.02% (from 20.80 to 21.90 repetitions) and the left leg increased by 5.22% (from 21.23 to 22.40 repetitions). The conclusion of this study is that the 1.5 kg resistance band training method significantly increased the speed of the crescent kick in female pencak silat athletes at SMAN 1 Maospati. This training effectively stimulates neuromuscular adaptation and increases explosive leg muscle strength. Coaches are advised to use this method as a practical and economical training alternative to improve athlete performance.
