Abstract

PT. Incasi Raya Pangian is a company engaged in oil palm plantations with a land area of 6,890 hectares, located in Nagari Sinamar, Asam Jujuhan District, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra Province. One of the main problems in oil palm cultivation is the presence of weeds that can reduce productivity by up to 20% through competition in the absorption of water, light, and nutrients. This research aims to identify the types of weeds that grow in oil palm plantations and compile them in the form of popular scientific books as an educational medium for the community and educators. The research was carried out in two stages. The first stage was carried out to obtain research weed data using the 10-meter transect method with five plots measuring 1 m x 1 m which were arranged alternately in the plantation area of PT. Incasi Raya Pangian, Nagari Sinamar, Dharmasraya Regency. The second stage is the preparation of popular scientific books, where weed samples are collected, preserved, and identified using botanical literature at the Botanical Laboratory of the University of PGRI West Sumatra. The results showed that there were 33 species of weeds from 27 families, consisting of 28 species of the Spermatophyta Division and 5 species of the Pteridophyta Division. Some common species include Ageratum conyzoides, Clidemia hirta, and Cyperus rotundus. The popular scientific books produced have the potential to be a source of practical information for the community, as well as support sustainable weed management in oil palm plantations.

Abstract

In the learning process, students have used various teaching materials, such as modules, printed books, and Student Worksheets (LKPD). In addition, the learning process is also supported by the application of the problem-based learning model. One of the materials studied in grade XII of high school is biotechnology innovation. In the material, teachers use a problem-based learning model. This research aims to produce a LKPD based on problem based learning on valid biotechnology innovation materials in phase F of high school/MA. This type of research is a development research using a 4D model which includes four stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, in this study, the disseminate stage was not carried out. The research instrument is in the form of a validation sheet used to test the validity carried out by three validators. The results of the study showed that the validity test by biology lecturers and teachers obtained an average score of 84.84% which is included in the very valid category. Thus, it can be concluded that the LKPD based on problem-based learning on the biotechnology innovation material phase F SMA/MA developed, is feasible to use.

Abstract

In learning activities, teaching materials play a very important role. Open materials include printed books, modules, student worksheets, and handouts. Open materials in the form of printed books in schools are considered inadequate amidst the spread of technology that is currently developing and the student worksheets used does not meet the components of the worksheet elements. Based on this, a study has been conducted that aims to produce an Electronic student worksheets equipped with project assignments on changes in environmental material that are valid and practical. This study uses a research and development method often called research and development (R&D). This research instrument uses two questionnaires, namely the validity of the questionnaire and the practicality of the questionnaire using a Likert scale. The validity test was carried out by filling out the questionnaire by three lecturers while the practicality test was carried out by one biology teacher and 36 students at State Senior High School 16 Padang. The data obtained were analyzed using percentages and processed with descriptive analysis. The results of data analysis on the validity test of the Electronic Student Worksheet equipped with project assignments by the validator show that the Electronic Student Worksheet equipped with project assignments is in the very valid criteria with an average value of 92% and the practicality value of the Electronic Student Worksheet equipped with project assignments by the teacher is very practical criteria with an average value of 97% and by students, the criteria are very practical with an average of 94.4%. It can be concluded that the Electronic Student Worksheet equipped with project assignments on the material of environmental change for Phase E of Senior High Schools that was developed is very valid and practical.
