Abstract

The onset of menstruation is one of the first real changes that teenagers experience. Even though menstruation is a normal, natural process, some women experience discomfort during menstruation, including dysmenorrhea (low back pain), irregular menstruation, or lower abdominal pain. To relieve dysmenorrhea, one of the options is to use methods other than drugs. To relieve the severity of menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea, this research will examine the efficacy of acupressure and ginger drinks, as well as variations in administration and the effects of ginger drinks. This research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest strategy with two groups. Thirty women aged eighteen to twenty-one years participated in the study (15 in the acupressure group and 15 in the red ginger group). To select the sample, the researcher used a purposive sampling technique. The research results revealed that acupressure, ginger drink, and a combination of the two were effective in alleviating the symptoms of menstrual pain and dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls. However, the effects of ginger drinks and acupressure treatments are not additive. In the Adolescent Girls Age Group

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a disorder during menstruation, and it can have an effect that can interfere with daily activities. The prevalence of dysmenorrhea in the world is still very high, 1.8-1069,425 (90%). In Indonesia, it was recorded at 64.25%, in East Java at 71.3%, while based on the results of a preliminary study in XI-grade of SMA Ibrahimy 2 of Sukorejo there was 80% of adolescents experienced dysmenorrhea. To determine whether avocado and chocolate juice reduce dysmenorrhea in XI-grade adolescents of SMA Ibrahimy 2 of Sukorejo. This study applied a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design and control. Samples were taken using purposive sampling, involving 60 participants (30 in the intervention group and 30 in the control group). Data were analyzed through univariate and bivariate analysis. The prevalence of dysmenorrhea in the intervention and control groups generally showed moderate pain, with 38 cases (63.3%). The Chi-Square test revealed no significant correlation between the three categorical variables with dysmenorrhea because the p-value > 0.05. However, for the age of menarche, the p-value of 0.016 < 0.05 indicated a correlation with the level of dysmenorrhea pain. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that both groups experienced significant changes, but the changes in the control group were more significant than the intervention group. The Mann-Whitney test with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 rejected H0 and accepted Ha, which means that the administration of avocado and chocolate juice significantly affects primary dysmenorrhea. The administration of a combination of avocado and chocolate juice significantly reduces primary dysmenorrhea in XI-grade adolescents at SMA Ibrahimy 2 of Sukorejo.

Abstract

AbstractDysmenorrhea is a gynecological condition that typically affects teenage girls and women of reproductive age. Dysmenorrhea frequently adversely affects the everyday activities of adolescent females. This study aimed to assess the impact of administering a combination of fenugreek seed herbal tea and cinnamon on alleviating primary dysmenorrhea discomfort in teenage females. This research employs a pre-experimental design using a pretest-posttest structure with a control group, comprising both an experimental group and a comparison group. Data collection involved the distribution of a main dysmenorrhea history questionnaire and a Numeric Rating rating (NRS) pain rating questionnaire. The sample consisted of 60 female students selected by purposive sampling. The acquired data were statistically analyzed utilizing the Chi-Square test, the Wilcoxon test, and the Mann-Whitney test. The study revealed that the average dysmenorrhea level in the experimental group during the posttest was 0.97, whereas the control group had an average of 1.33 over the same period. The Mann-Whitney test yielded an asymptotic significance (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). The combination of fenugreek seed and cinnamon herbal tea has been demonstrated to alleviate primary dysmenorrhea discomfort in teens.

Abstract

MTBS is one of the government’s efforts to reduce infant mortality rate. Most of sick toddler cases found in Situbondo regency are dealing with dengue fever and pneumonia, especially in Banyuputih Public Health Center area. One of the approaches to reduce the infant mortality rate is to consistently fill the MTBS format. However, due to limited manpower and the workload, medical personnel especially midwife could not optimally fill out the MTBS, so that toddler diseases could not be detected early. It is because the filling format and the reporting system of MTBS are not user friendly. The objective of this research is to develop MTBS implementation by using Information Technology System, in order to increase the quality of midwife service in giving midwifery care and reduce the infant mortality rate in Banyuputih Public Health Center area. This research generated a product in the form of information system called e-MTBS
