Abstract

This study leads to an analysis of the relationship between exports, imports, and central government spending on the growth of the Indonesian economy. In this study, we selected periodic data throughout 1990-2020 obtained from the World Bank and Financial Notes. The ECM (Error Correction Model) analysis method is used in this study. Then tested using the stationary test, cointegration test, and the classical assumption test. This study obtained the results that export and import variables have an influence on economic growth in the short term, while central government spending has an influence on economic growth in the long term. Therefore, the researcher concludes that better government involvement in economic growth is needed for the economy to function smoothly. To avoid a negative trade balance, the government must be able to control both exports and imports, as well as budgetary spending. In this situation, the government is viewed as a policymaker and a state stakeholder, and it is hoped that it will make sound policy decisions that will benefit Indonesia's economy.

Abstract

Economic growth plays a crucial role in the overall well-being of a nation's population. It is composed of various components, each with its own significance in driving economic progress. Among these components are the road infrastructure variable, the labor variable, and the Domestic Investment variable, all of which contribute to stimulating economic growth. Therefore, it is imperative to analyze the extent to which these variables contribute to the economic growth of Indonesia. To conduct this analysis, the Error Correction Model (ECM) is employed as the analytical method. This model enables the determination of both the long-term and short-term effects of the road infrastructure variable, labor variable, and Domestic Investment variable on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which serves as an indicator of economic growth. The findings of this study reveal that the road infrastructure variable, labor variable, and Domestic Investment variable have a significant long-term impact on the Gross Domestic Product. Moreover, when considered collectively, these variables exert a substantial influence on the overall GDP. In the short term, although the road infrastructure variable, labor variable, and Domestic Investment variable do not individually exhibit a significant effect on the Gross Domestic Product, their combined impact proves to be significant.

This study employs Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) regression, and a long-term and short-term association is present. Foreign Capital Investment (FDI) is the dominant factor that affects economic growth and is not significant using = 5, while the relative export variable has a significant positive effect on economic growth, and the exchange rate variable affects economic growth positively but is not statistically significant.

Abstract

This study's primary purpose is to determine and assess the impact of exports, imports, and manufacturing in Indonesia from 1990 to 2019. The secondary data utilized by the researcher in this study spans the years 1990 to 2019. Imports and exports of commodities and services in the 1990s, when there was no import-export ease, compared to 1998, when Indonesia had import-export ease. The issue was that a monetary crisis caused Indonesia's economic structure to become somewhat disorganized, as the rupiah exchange rate and inflation rose, and enterprises with foreign debts were compelled to repay them in multiples of their original sums. In this study, researchers conducted tests using the eviwes 10 application and the ECM (Error Correction Model) approach, with data on the growth rate of exports, imports, and economic growth obtained from the World Bank from 1990 to 2019. The data acquired in the form of numbers that are analyzed and display the status of being stationary. Exports are stationary with a probability of 0.0000, where the value is less than 5%, imports are stationary with a probability of 0.0011, where the value is less than 5%, and manufacturing is stationary with a probability of 0.0021, where the value is < 5%, and GDP or economic growth is 0.0147, which is less than 5%.

The records received in this observation are secondary records received from the World Bank in the form of time collection from 1989 to 2018. Data evaluation is carried out through more than one regression evaluation with the help of time series tools. Based on the results of the study that the exchange rate and import variables have a major effect on economic growth. Meanwhile, the export variable has a negative impact on economic growth.
