Abstract

Learning assessment based on local wisdom is essential in interpreting cultural diversity. This Science and Technology for the Community (IbM) activity aims to socialize ethnomathematics-based mathematics learning assessments, especially Banyumasan art culture. The target of this activity is UMP elementary school teachers in general and UMP elementary mathematics teachers in particular, totaling 22 people. The methods and strategies used in implementing this IbM are starting with a preetest to determine the initial ability of participants, given treatment through book review, discussion, question and answer, simulation and ending with postest and reflection. This activity results in the increasing insight of UMP elementary school teachers on ethnomathematics-based learning assessment, especially Banyumasan art with an average gain of as much as possible. 17.85. The participants' responses to the implementation of this activity were adding insight (59%), valid (19%), welcoming positively and expressing pleasure (22%).

Abstract

Hok Tek Bio Temple in Purwokerto, Central Java, Indonesia as one of the cultural sites rich in symmetrical architectural elements, carved ornaments, and geometric shapes, offers a unique opportunity for students to visualize various types of geometric transformations. However, so far it has not been widely used as a medium in mathematics learning. This study aims to explore Hok Tek Bio Temple in Purwokerto as a medium for mathematics learning through ethnomathematics studies. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques use in-depth interviews, observations and document studies. The results of the study show that most of the Hok Tek Bio Temple ornaments are built using geometric transformation patterns, both reflection, translation, dilation, and symmetry, which have various philosophical meanings in life. The results of this study can be recommended as a medium for learning geometry based on local wisdom and at the same time character education

Abstract

This study focuses on inquiry-based teaching and learning (IN), emphasizing the development of students' self-efficacy (SEDU), self-concept (PP), and information and communication technology literacy (TIK). Students are encouraged to prioritize the learning process over grades or competition, to develop a sense of competence and autonomy, and to focus on broader skill development rather than purely technical objectives. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the performance of SEDU, PP, and TIK within an IN framework. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed to collect and analyze data. This study investigates the relationships among SEDU, PP, TIK, and IN. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire, and the relationships between these variables were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The sample consisted of 631 elementary school teachers and 224 mathematics education students from the University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, Indonesia. The analysis revealed statistically significant interactions among SEDU, PP, TIK, and IN. Additionally, SEDU was identified as a moderating factor in the interaction between PP, TIK, and IN. These findings suggest that SEDU has the potential to enhance classroom enrichment in IN settings for students with high levels of PP and TIK. This study contributes to the existing literature on instructional feedback and inquiry-based learning by providing recommendations for fostering effective IN classrooms. Specifically, it highlights the importance of enhancing students' technological competencies and personal growth to maximize the benefits of inquiry-based education.

Abstract

The difficulty that teachers in Indonesia face is delivering engaging lectures to raise the level of academic accomplishment among their students. Incorporating elements of the game into the educational process is one way this can be accomplished. A platform such as Kahoot! gamification may be applied to the learning process in an effective and engaging manner. The purpose of this research is to evaluate Kahoot as a learning approach that is both helpful and enjoyable for students in Indonesia, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. The analysis of quantitative data was involved in this investigation. The enlisted participants were 242 students. The findings of this research can be applied to the question of whether or not Kahoot! should be utilized as a teaching strategy that incorporates gamification elements to raise students' academic accomplishment. Also, one of the potential solutions to the post-pandemic would be incorporating parts of gaming into the instructional process.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students' mathematical critical thinking abilities in terms of the level of academic procrastination. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this research were students in class VIII A of SMP Muhammadiyah Larangan on straight line equations. Data analysis was carried out using triangulation, namely comparing data from various sources (questionnaires, interviews and observations) to obtain a more comprehensive understanding. The research results show that: 1) Students with high academic procrastination are unable to carry out interpretation, analysis, problem solving, evaluation, or inference; 2) Students with moderate academic procrastination are able to carry out interpretation and analysis, but are unable to carry out problem solving, evaluation and inference; 3) Students with low academic procrastination are able to carry out interpretation, analysis, problem solving, evaluation and inference well. The results of this study indicate that students' level of academic procrastination has a significant impact on their mathematical critical thinking abilities. Students with high procrastination tend to experience difficulties in interpreting, analyzing and solving problems, which indicates the need for more effective intervention in the learning process. Developing learning strategies that can reduce procrastination, such as implementing time management techniques, increasing motivation, and implementing active learning methods, is very important. Schools and educators can create an environment that supports the development of students' critical thinking skills, which in turn will improve their overall academic performance

Abstract

Penguatan pendidikan karakter melalui pembelajaran menjadi tuntutan Penguatan pendidikan karakter menjadi tuntutan penting pendidikan abad 21, namun sebagian besar Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) guru belum terintegrasi nilai-nilai Islam.
