Abstract

This article is based on a classroom action research (CAR). In this research, I have acted as a Lecturerin CAR. This CAR has involved students in one class of Publishing Study Program Batch 6 Semester 3in Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif (PoliMedia) Jakarta. By applying a cooperative learning strategy, Iset out to make magazines as a result of the writing assignments on English lesson. Magazines arechosen because the students have got writing and editing skills from English lesson, and layouting skillsfrom Digital Graphics lesson. It means that the students have been taught to write and edit manuscripts,and they also have learned how to design magazines cover and content. During sixteen weeks, thestudents followed the process of creating magazines. Finally, the students can increase their writing andediting capabilities, and thus help students to make their portfolios.

Abstract

This article is based on an annotated translation research. The object of the research is an English novel My Lover My Friend, written by Suprina Frazier. The purpose of this research are (1) to attain factual information concerning the problems faced by the researcher in translating the source text; (2) to give plausible solutions to the difficulties. In conducting this annotated translation research, the researcher involved the introspective and retrospective research. The result of the research covered two main point. First, the finding reveals that from the 25 difficult problems, six were words, seven were phrases, two were idioms, four were clauses, and six were sentences. However in this journal, the researcher took ten items to be annotated. Second, those difficulties were solved by referring to the relevant theories of translation and English-Indonesian languages.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain: (1) untuk menjelaskan proses penyuntingan naskah novel terjemahan; (2) untuk menjabarkan kesulitan/kendala dalam menyunting naskah novel terjemahan; dan (3) untuk memberikan solusi untuk menghadapi kesulitan/kendala yang ada. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode descriptive analysis. Artinya, peneliti menyunting naskah, menjabarkan prosesnya, mengidentifikasi masalah yang muncul, dan memberikan alternatif solusinya. Hasilnya, tahapan penyuntingan mekanik yang dianalisis meliputi penerjemahan dan penyuntingan kata, frasa, dan kalimat. Klasifikasi tersebut dibuat karena banyak ditemui kesalahan dalam menerjemahkan kata, frasa, dan kalimat. Kesulitan yang dihadapi penerjemah yang juga menjadi kendala bagi peneliti sebagai penyunting adalah (1) ketidakjelasan makna kata, frasa, dan kalimat, (2) kesulitan mencari padanan kata, frase, dan kalimat, (3) baik penerjamah dan penyunting kurang menguasai kata-kata berbudaya tempat naskah sumber itu berasal, (4) pengaruh bentuk dan jenis kata, frasa, dan kalimat bahasa sumber, dan (5) pengaruh bahasa sumber. Kesulitan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan cara: (a) Melihat naskah sumber dan membandingkannya dengan naskah terjemahan yang akan disunting; (b) Mempelajari teknik penyuntingan naskah terjemahan; (c) Menguasai tema dan memiliki pengetahuan dari naskah terjemahan tersebut; (d) Berkonsultasi dengan penerjemahnya langsung; dan (e) Jika memungkinkan, juga dapat berkonsultasi dengan penulis naskah aslinya.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the results of the review of the Independent Reviewer Team. The researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method to describe valuations of the reviewer. Furthermore, she reduces the data and sets 18 textbooks for this research data (23,68%). Overall, the aspectsof the feasibility of textbooks in Curriculum 2013 is divided into two categories, namely 'quite decent ' and ' worthy '. However, to make it a textbook in use nationally, aspects of the content, the presentation, the language, and the printing quality of the book have to be repaired, fitted, and maximized again.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk melihat sejauh mana implementasi kebijakan BOS Buku ditinjau dari sumber anggaran untuk penyediaan buku; (2) untuk menganalisis hambatan/masalah yang ada dari implementasi kebijakan BOS buku; dan (3) untuk mencari dan memberikan solusi terhadap hambatan-hambatan tersebut. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara terbatas pada 15 sekolah dasar pada empat kecamatan di kota Depok. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dan kualitatif (mixed method) dengan cara pengambilan data melalui survei dan kuesioner deskriptif. Analisis yang telah digunakan adalah dengan persentase dan deskriptif kualitatif. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah variabel tunggal yaitu implementasi kebijakan pemerintah mengenai BOS Buku. Hasil Penelitian mencakup tiga hal utama. Pertama, bahwa sumber anggaran untuk penyediaan buku di sekolah berasal dari BOS Reguler, APBD, orangtua siswa, dan sponsor untuk sekolah swasta. Dalam implementasinya, sebanyak 8 sekolah (53%) menyatakan anggaran tersebut cukup dan 7 sekolah (46,6%) menyatakan sebaliknya. Kedua, masalah yang ada dalam implementasi kebijakan BOS Buku  adalah ketersediaan buku yang tidak mencukupi dengan rasio 1 buku : 1 siswa, proses pelaporan administrasi BOS yang rumit, dan dana BOS pada implementasinya mengalami keterlambatan. Terakhir, peneliti memberikan solusi terhadap masalah-masalah yang ada kepada berbagai pihak terkait, pemerintah pusat, pemerintah daerah, sekolah, orang tua siswa, dan penerbit/agen buku.

Abstract

P4MP plays a role in assisting the Director in ensuring the quality of education at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif. In carrying out this role, P4MP conducted an understanding survey of the academic community and stakeholders towards Polimedia's Vision, Mission, Objectives and Strategy (VMTS). This survey aimed to measure the level of knowledge and understanding of lecturers, staffs, students, functional and structural officials of VMTS Polimedia. Researchers used a quantitative method with purposive random sampling. Based on the data, it is known that 96.9% of lecturers knew and 87.8% of lecturers understood VMTS Polimedia. Furthermore, 96.1% of the respondents knew and 84.3% of the respondents understood the Polimedia VMTS. For college-students, as many as 73.86% of students knew and 62.2% of students understood the meaning of VMTS Polimedia. Respondents know VMTS Polimedia from 45.6% Polimedia website, 25.3% Polimedia social media, 17% bulletin boards on campus, 7.4% academic rule books, and 4.7% from other media.

Abstract

The development of research measures aim to (1) know the current syllabus; (2) get the data and conclusions about the syllabus; (3) find out theoretical syllabus developed nowadays; (4) draft and develop a new syllabus to suit the needs of students, faculty, and industry; (5) get the validity of the test results by getting experts to the syllabus; (6) get the limited field test results against the syllabus; (7) get the eligibility of the syllabus. There are two discussions in this research. First, an examination of the current English syllabus with study documents, learning, observation and analysis of the needs for the development of the syllabus. Second, the language syllabus development has been done by arranging the first prototype. Results of the tests on these students and lecturer next votes disqualified by experts. In this case, all three experts agree that the English syllabus in the third prototype is appropriate and valid to be implemented in PoliMedia.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis article is a review of the final projects done by the students of publishing study program in Polimedia, 2015 to 2018. The students are required to make books within free themes, thus they are given the opportunity to create books in line with their capabilities and interest. The purpose of this article is for exposing the efforts of publishing study program in enhancing the local wisdom of some areas in Indonesia through the printed books. To analyze data, the writer uses a descriptive method by reviewing the final projects. In the four years of its implementation, publishing study program has complemented the students to contribute lifting up the local wisdom in some areas of Indonesia, such as Aceh, Bogor, Cirebon, Depok, Jakarta, Malang, Maluku Utara, Nias, Yogyakarta, and Kepulauan Derawan Kalimantan Utara. The resulted books are generated vary greatly, starting with children books in the form of fairy tales, legends and stories of heroism, to infographics and travelling books..Keywords: publishing study program, student’s final project, book, local wisdom.ABSTRAKArtikel ini merupakan ulasan tentang tugas akhir yang dikerjakan oleh mahasiswa pada Program Studi Penerbitan di Polimedia, 2015 hingga 2018. Mahasiswa diminta untuk membuat buku dengan tema bebas, sehingga mereka diberi kesempatan untuk membuat buku sesuai dengan kemampuan dan minat mereka . Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mengungkap upaya Program Studi Penerbitan dalam meningkatkan kearifan lokal beberapa daerah di Indonesia melalui buku cetak. Untuk menganalisis data, penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan menelaah karya tugas akhir. Dalam empat tahun pelaksanaannya, Program Studi Penerbitan telah mendampingi mahasiswa untuk berkontribusi mengangkat kearifan lokal di beberapa daerah di Indonesia, seperti Aceh, Bogor, Cirebon, Depok, Jakarta, Malang, Maluku Utara, Nias, Yogyakarta, dan Kepulauan Derawan Kalimantan Utara. Buku-buku yang dihasilkan sangat bervariasi, mulai dari buku-buku anak dalam bentuk dongeng, legenda, dan kisah kepahlawanan, hingga infografis dan buku perjalanan.Kata Kunci: program studi penerbitan, tugas akhir mahasiswa, buku, kearifan lokal.

Abstract

This research departs from the lack of development in the work of the Final Project students of the Publishing Study Program, especially in books with the fiction genre. This limitation causes the work produced in terms of content and medium is still monotonous and has not developed in the desired direction. This research uses the concept of product development strategy which is commonly used in business and industry, especially the publishing industry. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze, describe, and explain the diversification that may be used for students of Publishing. The object of the research is the student's final thesis product Publishing from 2015 to 2020. This research also aims to find a new formulation for writing a publishing final project product, especially in the fiction category. The results of this study show that in the 2015 to 2020 period, there are only 4 types of fiction that keep repeating itself, and there is only 1 work in the form of a flashlight book as part of manual product development. This research resulted in a further mapping of the stages of diversification that students could choose and their product forms.

Abstract

The study tour to Yogyakarta is an annual activity carried out by several Depok, West Java schools. This activity aims for cultural tourism, nature tourism, as well as refreshments for students. The article focuses on how the use of study tour activities as a medium for writing book manuscripts for junior high school students is correlated with the school's literacy program. The method used is the participatory method, involving 74 students of SMP Negeri 10 Depok. The steps taken were (1) discussions with school partners, (2) nonfiction writing workshops, (3) writing assistance, and (4) an editorial process. School partners support this activity by assigning four teachers as facilitators or accompanying teachers. The nonfiction writing workshop is in the form of a webinar and was held before the study tour. Writing assistance is provided by the team to students both individually and in groups. The finished manuscripts written by students then enter the editorial process, including the editing and graphic design processes. The book Healing and Exploring Yogyakarta is the outcome of this activity and will be published by Shinna Media Publishing.
