Abstract

The resistance of the people of Bima in defending the kingdom's territory from Dutch colonial occupation has taken quite a long time where Fort Asakota has an important role as a maritime defense strategy. The purpose of this study was to find out the struggle of the Bima people against the VOC (Verenigde Oost Indische) government from the territory of the Bima kingdom. The results showed that Fort Asakota had an important role in the containment strategy, because it was located in a strategic place to drive away VOC warships that wanted to enter the Bima kingdom because it was in the middle of the sea when high tide and low tide would merge with mainland. Asakota Fort was built during the time of Sultan Abdul Khair Sirajuddin as a sea defense fortress at the entrance to the Bima kingdom. At that time the kingdom of Gowa-Tallo had been defeated by the Dutch company and ended with the Bongaya agreement.

Abstract

The ability to detect and measure the distance of potential obstacles is importance for navigation system in self-driving vehicles. The measurement process needs to be fast and accurate since the controller requires real-time data to make quick decisions and respond to any potential disturbances on the vehicle's track. This research aims to develop Microlidar for detection system that can accurately measure the distance of a potential obstacle object. The Microlidar utilize Lidar Lite V3 proximity sensor which have range measurement specification of up to 40 meter. Microlidar rapidly rotate 360 degrees by using a stepper motor while in the same time continuously measure the real-time distance. The measurement data are sent to a microcontroller through I2C, and the Processing software plot the 2D image which work like radar visualization. The system is assessed for ranging the various distance object in static and dynamic measurement mode. The results show that the Microlidar has a good level of accuracy with an average error value at the distance of 300 cm is 4.99 cm or 1.7% while the average error value at the distance of 1000 cm is 15.69 cm or 1.6% obtained from 100 data sets collected. The communication from the sensor to Arduino requires a minimum baud rate of 115200 bits/second to minimize data loss and ensure that the measured distance can be processed in real time by the microcontroller. Real-time data with high speed is essential since it will be used on the vehicle in order to quickly decide whether there is a barrier or not on the vehicle’s track. The sensor analysis distance expected from this research could be used as a reference to support the navigation system performance of self-driving vehicles.

Abstract

In this article, it can be seen through a literature review that peer-to-peer relationships are often associated with adolescent life. Students as academics are mostly still in that range, especially at the undergraduate level. They are the ones who are vulnerable to national turmoil that triggers violent behavior. They require intense interaction with the same age group in responding to existing changes and developments.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major global health issue that significantly contributes to morbidity and mortality. This study examines the relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards preventing hypertension recurrence among hypertensive patients in Indonesia. Utilizing a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 49 hypertensive patients through questionnaires assessing knowledge and attitudes. The results reveal a significant correlation between good knowledge and positive attitudes, with 65% of those with good knowledge exhibiting a positive attitude compared to 35% among those with poor knowledge. The odds ratio (OR=1.643, p=0.000) indicates that patients with better knowledge are significantly more likely to have a positive attitude towards hypertension prevention. These findings underscore the importance of educational interventions in improving health outcomes. Tailored educational programs that address psychological and nutritional aspects, as well as social support mechanisms, are recommended to enhance patient knowledge and foster positive health behaviors. This study highlights the need for continuous patient education and support to reduce the recurrence of hypertension. Public health strategies should focus on integrating comprehensive educational approaches to empower patients and improve adherence to hypertension management practices. The significant role of education in shaping health attitudes and behaviors emphasizes its critical place in public health initiatives aimed at combating hypertension.

Abstract

This research is descriptive analysis using historical methods, through several stages of activities which include heuristic, criticism, interperation, and historiography. This research aims to provide an overview of the hegemony and trade war between Dutch and British imperialism in the Bima region. The results of the study show that the factors that encourage the Dutch and British to plant their influence in Bima are generally geopolitical and economic factors. The Dutch-British imperialist rivalry in the region was dominated by the influence of British power while the Dutch gained territorial control over the entire island of Sumbawa. Therefore, hegemony and trade competition have not occurred in open wars between the Dutch and the British in the struggle for power in the area since the XVIII century.
