Abstract

Since the early 1990s, Islamic finance in Indonesia has witnessed remarkable expansion, marked by advancements in the banking sector, non-bank financial institutions, and capital markets. This article seeks to elucidate the evolution of Islamic finance in Indonesia, encompassing Islamic banking, Islamic insurance, Islamic financing entities, and the Islamic capital market. Furthermore, it addresses the challenges and opportunities that the Islamic finance sector encounters in Indonesia. The findings of this research indicate that Islamic finance possesses significant potential to emerge as a fundamental component of the national financial system.

Abstract

Background: Background: Tax is one of the sources of state revenue. So far, tax is the main source of domestic revenue. This can be seen in the State Budget (APBN). The government has made various efforts to increase the tax ratio, for example by providing tax education, tax amnesty, and even taking legal action against taxpayers who do not pay taxes. One of the reasons the tax revenue ratio is still low is because taxpayers' awareness and mindset to pay taxes is still relatively low. For this reason, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Islamic University of North Sumatra (UISU) held a Community Service (PkM) on early education of taxpayers to students of SMK Negeri 1 Teluk Mengkudu, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The purpose of this activity is to provide an understanding of the importance of tax as a source of state revenue, as well as to instill the importance of awareness of paying taxes. Method: Lectures and demonstrations delivered using Power point software. Results: Students' understanding of taxes was still low when the pretest was conducted before education and increased after the posttest after education. This is reinforced by the results of various tests where the average score of students' tax understanding tests before socialization was 3.12. Meanwhile, the average post-test score of students' tax understanding was 7.90. Conclusion: Community Service activities can improve the knowledge and understanding of students of SMK Negeri 1 Teluk Mengkudu about the importance of taxes and tax payments.

Abstract

Background: Urban environments such as Medan City, which recorded 895 fire cases from 2020 to 2023. The main causes of fires include a lack of public understanding of how to extinguish fires and a lack of availability and knowledge of the use of fire extinguishers such as APAR. The purpose of this activity is to provide comprehensive insight and understanding of fires, including fire prevention, handling, and evacuation, the importance of training and education on fire protection, especially in the workplace and residential areas, to minimize the risk of fire and the resulting losses. Method: The activity was carried out at PT. Saraswanti Anugerah Makmur Tbk with 25 participants and the methods used were education by conducting presentations, simulations and training on emergency response education and fire disaster risks. Data collection was carried out through direct observation and evaluation after the training, including an assessment of participants' understanding of the material presented in one meeting consisting of two sessions, namely the first session for 4 hours and the second session lasting 3 hours 45 minutes. Results: Increased knowledge and increased practical skills, namely the use of fire extinguishing equipment including types of fire extinguishers, procedures for using fire extinguishers, understanding of flammable and non-flammable materials and quick response in seeing fire conditions and emergencies by knowing the evacuation layout. Conclusion: The activities carried out have achieved the set targets, with a good level of achievement in increasing community preparedness against fire risks.

Abstract

The rapid growth of urbanization and industrial activities has increased the complexity of waste management operations within business organizations, leading to rising costs and managerial challenges. While the Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled real-time data collection in waste management, business value creation depends on how such data are integrated into managerial information systems. This study aims to develop and evaluate an IoT-based waste management web dashboard that supports operational monitoring and managerial decision-making to create business value. Using a Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, this study designs an integrated system that collects real-time waste volume data through IoT-enabled sensors and presents the information via a centralized web dashboard. The system is evaluated using a mixed approach combining operational performance indicators and user perceptions based on Information Systems Success Theory. The results indicate improvements in operational efficiency, resource allocation, and decision-making quality following system implementation. The findings demonstrate that the proposed web dashboard functions as a strategic managerial information system rather than a purely technical solution. By enhancing information quality and managerial control, the system contributes to business value creation through improved operational performance and supports digital transformation and sustainability-oriented business practices. This study contributes to the business and management literature by shifting the focus of IoT-based waste management research from technical performance to managerial relevance and value creation.

Abstract

Usaha Kita Beras yang berada di Binjai merupakan usaha yang menjual beras dari sawah pribadi pemilik usaha Kita Beras. Proses kegiatan ini bertujuan membantu usaha Kita Beras dalam meningkatkan penjualan beras. Penjualan beras dilakukan tidak hanya dengan menjual secara langsung, tetapi juga dilakukan menggunakan penjualan online yaitu soisal media. Dengan memanfaatkan sosal media yang ada dapat mempromosikan dan melihat antusias konsumen pada produk yang dijual. Dalam mempromosikan produk, pemilik usaha bisa membuat iklan sendiri dengan membuat video tentang cara proses menghasilkan beras mulai dari proses penanaman, penggilingan, dan pengangkutan dari gudang hingga ke kurir ataupun ke konsumen langsung. Serta memberikan artikel tentang mengkonsumsi beras dari sawah pribadi hasil dari panen terbaru. Penjualan menggunakan sosial media bisa menilai kepuasan pelanggan dengan testimonial yang dikirim oleh konsumen. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dalam sebulan menggunakan sosial media, penjualan Kita Beras meningkat, karena pengikut sosial media juga sudah banyak sehingga memudahkan promosi Kita Beras.

Abstract

Edukasi seksual untuk anak dan remaja merupakan langkah penting dalam membekali mereka dengan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk melindungi diri dari risiko predator seksual. Pemahaman yang tepat tentang batasan tubuh, identifikasi perilaku yang tidak pantas, serta cara melaporkan kejadian yang mencurigakan, menjadi fondasi untuk meningkatkan kewaspadaan dan rasa percaya diri. Dengan memberikan edukasi seksual yang holistik dan berbasis pada pemahaman yang tepat, diharapkan anak dan remaja dapat memiliki keterampilan untuk menghadapi dan menghindari potensi bahaya dari predator seksual, sekaligus menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih aman dan sehat bagi mereka. Pendidikan yang berbasis pada pengetahuan dan keterampilan praktis ini tidak hanya membantu anak dan remaja dalam mengidentifikasi potensi ancaman tetapi juga memperkuat daya tahan mental mereka terhadap tekanan atau manipulasi yang mungkin mereka hadapi. Pemberdayaan anak dan remaja melalui edukasi seksual yang komprehensif berperan penting dalam menciptakan masyarakat yang lebih aman, mendukung perkembangan individu, serta mengurangi angka kejahatan seksual yang sering kali terjadi pada korban yang tidak siap atau kurang memiliki informasi.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh budaya organisasi terhadap kinerja karyawan di Kantor BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Cabang Tanjung Morawa, untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh kepuasaan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan di Kantor BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Cabang Tanjung Morawa, untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh budaya organisasi dan kepuasaan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan di Kantor BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Cabang Tanjung Morawa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan di kantor BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Cabang Tanjung Morawa yaitu berjumlah 32 orang karyawan dan penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan total sampling sehingga 32 orang responden dijadikan sampel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa ada pengaruh yang antara budaya organisasi dan kepuasaan kerja jabatan terhadap kinerja, ada pengaruh positif variabel budaya organisasi dan kepuasaan kerja jabatan terhadap kinerja. budaya organisasi dan kepuasasan kerja terhadap kinerja secara bersama-sama (multiple) terdapat pengaruh positif dan terhadap kinerja.

Abstract

Background: Internal conflict is an inseparable phenomenon from organizational dynamics, including student organizations that have complex structures, ideologies, and leadership mechanisms. The conflict within the Indonesian Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Muslim Indonesia (KAMMI) at the Medan and Deli Serdang Regional Board levels reflects tensions between structural legitimacy and personal interests, triggered by indications of violations of the organization's khittah (basic principles) and the emergence of dual loyalty among administrators. Objective: This article aims to analyze the leadership conflict within KAMMI Medan and Deli Serdang, particularly focusing on the appointment of an Acting Leader (Plt.) by the Central Board as a form of structural conflict management. Method: This research employs a literature study method with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Findings and Implications: The findings indicate that unmanaged conflict has the potential to cause organizational dysfunction, reduce cadre trust, and hinder the cadre development process. The appointment of an Acting Leader by the Central Board represents a structural conflict management strategy aimed at maintaining organizational stability and restoring the legitimacy of regional management. This study contributes academically to the literature on student organizational conflict and offers practical insights for managing internal organizational conflicts based on values and formal rules. Conclusion: Structural intervention through the appointment of an Acting Leader serves as an effective mechanism for conflict resolution in student organizations, although its long-term success depends on the ability to rebuild trust and consolidate organizational vision. Strengthening communication mechanisms and internalizing organizational values are essential for preventing similar conflicts in the future.
