Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the process of strengthening farmer groups through the optimization of environmental and social synergy in farmer groups. The results showed the strengthening of farmer groups can be grown by increasing the synergistic relationship between farmer groups with the social environment. Social environment that can support the strengthening of farmer groups are farmers, gapoktan, Department of Agricultural, Research Institute, Laboratory of pests and diseases, PPAH, financial institutions, HIPPA, traders, kiosk production facilities and universities.Keywords: farmer groups, social environmental, synergy

Abstract

This research intended to know the suitable zalacca agriculture industrialism through financial method; to know the sensitivity of zalacca agriculture industrialism; to know the amount value of zalacca processing become “dodol salak; and to know the strategy commodity zallaca development. The location of the research is determined by purposive method. The sampling method in this research is taken by Simple Random Sampling and key person. The data that is used are primary data and secondary data. The analysis data is used are; (1) the suitable financial, the sensitivity analysis, the amount value analysis, and force field analysis. The result analysis show that: the zalacca agriculture industrialism through financial method is workable; the zalacca agriculture industrialism does not sensitive with any change; the tabulation zalacca become “dodol salak” can give the amount value; the development strategy should be formulated by assembled the farmer to take care the zalacca intensively and to inform that related with the benefit zalacca process and marketing product, it held contiguous for zalacca processing with diversification tabulation for supporting home industry when it is not zalacca season.Keywords: Zalacca, suitable financial, sensitivity analysis

Abstract

Farmers Group JokoTole and BaruMuncul are from Karangharjo Village, Silo subdistrict, Jember.  Both groups had the awareness to use organic fertilizers in farming. In fact, they make their own organic fertilizer in the form of compost, using a mixture of forage or leaves and cow dung. During the process of making compost, they encounter time inefficiency in the process of cutting the leaves and dried cow dung. It is because it is done conventionally using a dagger. The amount of compost produced is not sufficient for both farmer groups. Therefore, the application of compost thrasher (chopper) can increase the productivity and also saves time and energy for the process. In addition to the increase in the amount of compost produced, quality improvement is also needed by increasing the levels of macro nutrients in fertilizers, such as N, P, and K. This will be achieved by improving the nutrition of cattle feed, especially taken as a mixture of manure compost through hay fermentation technology. Nutritious fodder increased nutrients in the cow dung, and its utilization will also increase the nutrient content of the compost that is made. Keywords: trasher, silage, compost

Abstract

Agricultural development aims to develop system of sustainable agriculture. Coffee agribusiness development must be full supported with post-harvest sectors. The aims of the research were (1) to identify the implementation of diversification post-harvest technology by smallholders coffee farmers (2) to analyze the factors of smallholders coffee farmers’ Capability of implementation diversification post-harvest. The research method used descriptive-correlation. The analysis of the data was performed by using the correlation test of Tau b Kendall. The method of the research used was a survey using 100 respondents from all of center smallholders coffee farmers in Jember Regency. The result showed that; (1) Capability level of smallholders coffee farmers were average level,(2) the factors of smallholders coffee farmers’ Capability of implementation diversification postharvest were internal factors of farmer’s characteristics and external factors of farmer’s characteristics.

Abstract

Chili pepper has the characteristics of rapid rot and large shrinkage that can cause production risks. Fluctuating prices of chili pepper also makes high-risk of chili pepper farming. Farmers' strategy to overcome them is to build a partnership with Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur. Market guarantees and prices and facilities provided make farmers more motivated to cultivate chili pepper. The existence of farmer motivation in chili pepper farming is able to increase productivity so that can increase income of chili pepper farmers. The purpose of this research discusses: partnership pattern between  chili’s farmers and Binamitra Multiagro Makmur, correlation between farmer’s characteristic with  farmer’s motivation, and correlation between motivation with farmer income of chili pepper farmers that are partnered with Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur Ambulu District Jember Regency, East Java. Sampling method is total sampling, that is chili pepper farmers who are partnered with Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur with a total number of 32 farmers. Data collection was done by interview, observation, and documentation study. The research method that is used are descriptive and analytical analysis. Data analysis to determine the correlation between farmer’s characteristic with  farmer’s motivation and correlation between motivation with income of chili pepper farmers uses Rank Spearman. The results were: (1) the sub-contract partnership pattern were used by farmers and  Binamitra Hortikultura Multiagro Makmur, (2) there is a significant correlation between age, formal education, and cropland area with farmer motivation while the number of family dependents and experience have acorrelation that is not significant with farmer motivation, and (3) there is a significant correlation between motivation and income of chili pepper farmers.

Abstract

Susu memiliki gizi yang tinggi dan dapat digunakan sebagai makanan pendamping manusia dalam segala usia, sehingga susu merupakan makanan yang dapat dikatakan sempurna.Susu kambing peranakan etawa (PE) merupakan susu yang memiliki gizi yang sangat tinggi. Susutidak hanya dihasilkan oleh kambing akan tetapi dapat pula dihasilkan oleh ternak lain misalnyakerbau, sapi perah, kuda dan domba. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan tingkat motivasi,faktor apa saja yang berhubungan secara signifikan dengan motivasi, pendapatan dan kontribusinyaterhadap pendapatan peternak kambing peranakan etawa (PE). Penentuan daerah penelitianmenggunakan purposive method. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yaitumetode deskriptif dan korelasional. Analisis data menggunakan tabulasi skor, analisis korelasiRank Spearman (rs), analisis pendapatan dan analisis statistik dengan presentase kontribusi. Hasilmenunjukan bahwa tingkat motivasi tentang usaha ternak susu kambing peranakan etawa (PE)tinggi. Faktor ekstrinsik yang berkorelasi adalah kegiatan kelompok. Pendapatan peternak adalahmenguntungkan. Kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak susu kambing peranakan etawa (PE) totalpendapatan keluarga peternak adalah sedang.

Abstract

Tomat adalah sayuran yang juga memiliki resiko dalam bertani. Karena itu, petani harus diminimalisir risiko agar bisa mendapatkan keuntungan lebih. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui peluang risiko yang dihadapi petani, perilaku petani terhadap risiko dan strategi petani dalam menghadapi risiko usahatani tomat. (2) analisis regresi kuadratik, dan (3) analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif Malton berdasarkan teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Ada kemungkinan risiko kehilangan pada usahatani tomat di Kecamatan Ledokombo sebesar 0,78 dengan pendapatan terendah yang dapat diterima oleh petani tomat Rp -1.736.162, -, (2) Sebanyak 84,4% atau 27 petani Jangan mengambil risiko mengambil risiko, 6,3% atau 2 petani bersikap netral terhadap risiko dan berperilaku berani mengambil risiko (risk lover) sebanyak 9,4% atau 3 petani dan (3) Strategi manajemen risiko yang dilakukan oleh sebagian besar petani di berurusan dengan strategi manajemen risiko, interaktif dan ex-post. Strategi pengelolaan risiko ex-ante dilakukan dengan mengikuti pola budidaya padi-tomat dengan sistem produksi monokultur, sesuai dengan kondisi iklim setempat, diversifikasi varietas dan beberapa hamparan lokasi penanaman. Strategi pengelolaan risiko interaktif dilakukan oleh petani yang melakukan bordir jika ada tanaman tomat mati, jarak tanam yang digunakan sesuai rekomendasi, penggunaan pupuk tidak berbeda jenis namun berbeda volume pada musim kemarau dan musim hujan, pencampuran pestisida yang cenderung berlebihan sebagai upaya pencegahan. atas dasar penghematan biaya, waktu dan usaha, mencari tenaga kerja dari luar desa jika kesulitan kerja dan juga meminjam modal kepada keluarga jika mengalami kekurangan modal.

Abstract

AbstractIn Bondowoso Regency,coffee agribusiness development must be full supported with postharvest sectors for primer (green coffee) and second products (roasted bean coffee, ground coffee, instant coffee, etc.).  Aims of the research were 1) to analyze variations innovation and technology  of farmers postharvest sector for primer and second products, 2) to calculat level motivation  of smallholders coffee farmers farmers at postharvest sector for primer products, 3) to calculat level motivation  of smallholders coffee farmers at postharvest sector for second products 4) to formulate some strategy alternative to development groups of smallholders coffee farmers.The research has been conducted from  August to October 2013. It used descriptif quantitative methods. The research used was a survey using 30 respondents from and 10  informants from all of center smallholders coffee farmers and stakeholders  in Industry clusters Area  Bondowoso  Regency. Data analysis by descriptif, likert scale and Fields Factors analysis (FFA)The result showed that; 1) variations innovation and technology  of farmers postharvest sector for primer and second products is good category. 2) level motivation  of smallholders coffee farmers at postharvest sector for primer products were high level, 3) level motivation and ability of smallholders coffee farmers at postharvest sector for second  products were average level, 4) the strategy alternative to development smallholders coffee farmers with optimalisation and introduction coffee roaster and grider for group farmer scale in agribusiness development perspectives Keywords:  Coffee bean, motivation, Empowerment Strategyes, smallholders coffee farmers.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah; (1) untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi petani kopi rakyat dalam beragribisnis komoditas kopi; (2) untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penting (internal dan eksternal) yang mempengaruhi motivasi petani kopi rakyat; dan (3) menyusun formulasi strategi pengembangan agribisnis kopi rakyat. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif dan analitis dan responden diambil 100 petani dari 5 Kecamatan sentra kopi rakyat di Kabupaten Jember dan stakeholder terkait. Metode pengambilan data dengan wawancara, observasi dan diskusi kelompok-kelompok. Data dianalisis dengan skoring skala likert dan regresi linier berganda. Penelitian ini telah menghasilkan beberapa kesimpulan, yaitu: (1) Tingkat motivasi petani kopi rakyat di Kabupaten Jember dalam melakukan pengolahan produk primer dan sekunder masih dalam kategori sedang; (2) Faktor-faktor penting yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi internal petani kopi rakyat adalah; umur petani kopi, pendidikan formal petani kopi ;pendidikan nonformal petani; pengalaman berusahatani kopi; jumlah tanggungan keluarga ; luas lahan garapan, dan akses informasi. Faktor-faktor penting yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi eksternal petani kopi rakyat dalam diversifikasi pengolahan primer dan sekunder adalah; ketersediaan sarana prasarana pengolahan kopi; modal petani kopi;intensitas penyuluhan; peluang dan kepastian pasar, dan; sifat inovasi (tingkat kemudahan di pelajari, dicoba, kerumitan, kesesuaian dengan sosial budaya dan keuntungan relatif). (3) Kebijakan dan strategi dalam pengembangan kopi rakyat sebaiknya tidak terlepas dari pembangunan perkebunan secara umum, yaitu memberdayakan dan mengembangkan di hulu agribisnis kopi dan memperkuat di hilir agribisnis kopi guna menciptakan peningkatan adanya nilai tambah dan daya saing kopi rakyat.

Abstract

ABSTRAKDesa Ngadisari – Kabupaten Probolinggo merupakan sentra produksi hortikultura di Jawa Timur. Komoditas unggulan di desa ini antara lain adalah kentang, daun bawang, kubis, dan tanaman hortikultura lainnya. Dalam proses budidaya, petani menghadapi serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman dari golongan patogen. Saat ini masalah tersebut diatasi dengan pestisida kimia sintetik. Namun demikian teknik tersebut dikeluhkan semakin mahal dan kurang efektif. Fenomena tersebut merupakan kendala yang dialami oleh petani tanaman hortikultura yang merupakan mitra pada program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini. Secara umum masalah masyarakat mitra yaitu: (i) serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman yang menurunkan hasil produksi, (ii) belum memahami teknik budidaya sesuai good agricultural practices, dan (iii) belum memahami aplikasi praktis teknologi biointensif. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut telah dilakukan upaya dalam bentuk seminar, penyuluhan, dan pelatihan terkait implementasi teknologi biointensif dalam bentuk pembuatan dan aplikasi pupuk organik. Kegiatan dibagi menjadi beberapa aktivitas, yaitu tahap persiapan dan sosialisasi program, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap evaluasi, dan tahap penyusunan program lanjutan. Dari kegiatan ini diketahui petani mendapatkan keterampilan tambahan terkait produksi pupuk organik yang benar, dan memiliki motivasi yang lebih tinggi untuk menerapkan proses budidaya tanaman secara sehat. Melalui peningkatan keterampilan dan motivasi tersebut, diharapkan pada masa yang akan datang produksi pertanian di Desa Ngadisari dapat meningkat dan tingkat residu pestisidanya dapat menurun. Kata kunci: organic; pelatihan; penyuluhan; pupuk; tepat guna ABSTRACTHorticultural products are produced at Ngadisari Village in East Java's Probolinggo Regency. This village relies heavily on selling agricultural products like potatoes, spring onions, cabbage, and other vegetables. When cultivating crops, farmers often encounter pest problem. In order to address this issue, synthetic chemical pesticides are currently employed. Unfortunately, this approach has been panned for being costly. Below are some of the big concerns of the partner community: (i) reduced yields due to pest attacks, (ii) not knowing how to grow using good agricultural practices, and (iii) not knowing how to put bio-intensive technologies to use in the field. Seminar, extension, and training related to bio-intensive technologies' production of organic fertilizer have been conducted to address this issue. Activities are subdivided into various steps, such as planning, executing the plan, and collecting feedback. As a result of participating in this activity, farmers gain knowledge and motivation to produce plants more sustainably, and they are better able to produce organic fertilizers.
