Abstract

This article aims to analyze the dynamics of islamic education renewal that occurs among women in the Minangkabau region spearheaded by Rahmah El Yunusiyah. The main issue raised in this article is related to the efforts to renew education among women carried out by Rahmah El Yunusiyah so that it has its own characteristics in the development of education, especially in Minangkabau. The method used in this study is a historical method as a tool to see the development of the renewal efforts carried out by Rahmah El Yunusiyah in the field of education. The results of the study found that Rahmah El Yunusiyah was able to renew education among women in the Minangkabau through Diniyyah School Poetri. This can be seen from the development of the school he founded, starting from the side of the building to the alumni produced. This then became a reference for several educational institutions in Indonesia to follow the education system implemented in the school. In addition, the renewal in the field of education among women carried out by Rahmah El Yunusiyah was able to raise the position of women in Minangkabau society.

Abstract

Multicultural education is important in school life. The problem of this research is how the integration of multicultural education in history learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the integration of multicultural education in the material of history learning material in ma Tahfizhil Qur'an. The results showed that teachers of History subjects integrated multicultural education in history learning at MA Tahfizhil Qur'an. The learning method uses a varied lecture method by providing equal opportunities and rights to students, as well as relating historical relics in the form of local sites in North Sumatra Province such as the Chinese City Site with the aim of respecting sites from other religions, from other groups, as well as from people in other regions by tolerating religion,  race, nation to other tribes Multicultural education in the learning carried out can form a good relationship of tolerance between learners.

Abstract

This article provides some proofs that influenced the increasing number ofMarind-Anim people who suffering from venereal diseases. It also providesfactual efforts that had been done by the colonial government as well as Catholicmissionaries in Merauke to overcome this problem. This study applies historicalmethods with four stages: heuristics, verification (internal and external criticism),interpretation/explanation and historiography. Primary sources obtained fromNational Archives of the Republic of Indonesia i.e., Memorie van Overgave van hetBestuur over de Afdeeling Zuid Nieuw Guinea; letter of the Minister of Colonies to theGovernor General of the Dutch East Indies; Report of Assistant Resident ZuidAfdeeling Nieuw Guinea to the Director of Government; and official printed sources,e.g., Volkstelling 1930. Michel Foucault's power relations theory is used to analyzethe causes of venereal disease in the Marind Tribe. The results shows that the causeof the increasing number patients who had venereal disease in the Marind tribe,Merauke, was related to their traditional understanding which legalized free sexand deviant sexual activities in the Marind tribe. The imbalanced power relationsbetween men and their wives and between men and adolescence men causingvenereal diseases and sexual perversions in the Marind Tribe. The strategyimplemented by the colonial government was to involve Catholic missionarieswho were trusted to overcome the disease by building a housing model that canonly be occupied by nuclear families who are not infected with venereal diseases.The colonial government demolished men’s houses because there werepossibilities of homosexual intercourses which become one of the causes ofvenereal disease among the Marind Tribe. In addition, the government requiredthe cenderawasih bird hunterers to have their genital health checked as a huntingpermit. The government built hospitals and clinics and invented doctors whospecialize in venereal disease to treat the patients. These strategies has succeededin treating and eradicating venereal diseases among the Marind Tribe.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to know the history of the establishment of the Karo traditional house in Dokan village, Brand district. Another goal is to see the legacy of the oldest traditional building in the Karo community in Dokan village, and to see how the condition of the building is now. Here the research also finds out whether there is still a role for the government and the community in the preservation of the Karo traditional house which is located in the village of Dokan. In obtaining the data, the researcher used field research and library research, namely by looking directly at the physical condition of the Karo traditional house located in the Dokan cultural village. It turns out that the Karo traditional house in Dokan village is still occupied by several families, one of which is Mr. Sitepu's family, they are also still preserving the Karo cultural musical instruments and even making them themselves. This traditional house in Dokan village is called the traditional house (Siwaluh Jabu) Eight Families which when we went directly to the location it was only occupied by four families. The results of our research are knowing the history of the Karo traditional house located in Dokan village and the Karo cooking utensils which are still used today. From this research, we also know how the government's role in preserving the Karo traditional house is located in the Dokan cultural village.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive learning media, especially digital flipbooks, to overcome learning loss in history learning. The research method involves the stages of needs analysis, design creation, media development, media testing, and evaluating its impact on student understanding. The research subjects in this study consisted of 12 expert validators with 3 experts each for each aspect. Expert validators are selected based on their expertise in the fields of learning, historical materials, media and language. Apart from that, this research also involved 50 Pertiwi Medan Private High School students who were randomly selected to assess the media produced. Data was collected by interviews and distributing questionnaires. Data analysis involves comparing test results using paired t-tests. The research results show that the digital flipbook media developed is valid for use in overcoming learning loss. The t test results show a significance value of 0.000, which means there is a difference in scores before and after using digital flipbook media. The conclusion of this research shows that the development of digital flipbook learning media has great potential in overcoming learning loss in history learning and has a significant positive impact on student learning outcomes.Keywords: Digital flipbook, Learning Loss, History Learning.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengulas persoalan-persoalan terkait implementasi dari pendekatan elemen-elemen Melayu-Islam dalam restrukturisasi birokrasi dan keadaan-keadaan sekitar Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II di Kesultanan Palembang Darussalam. Era Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (1803-1821) dikenal sebagai era yang paling krusial bagi sejarah Palembang. Ia merestrukturisasi birokrasi dan menghadapi sekaligus ancaman-ancaman dari internal (oleh adiknya sendiri) dan eksternal (oleh Inggris) untuk menggulingkannya dari takhta. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan metode sejarah. Beberapa dokumen dari arsip kolonial Belanda digunakan sebagai sumber primer dan sebagian besar buku dan artikel ilmiah yang relevan digunakan sebagai sumber sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II sadar dan perlu untuk memperkuat posisi dan kekuasaannya dari ancaman-ancaman internal dan eksternal. Ia telah menciptakan keseimbangan dengan memodifikas sistem birokrasi peninggalan leluhurnya dengan mengadopsi elemen-elemen sistem kepemimpinan kerajaan-kerajaan Melayu-Islam. Elemen-elemen Melayu-Islam yang tampak diimplementasikan dalam restrukturisasi birokrasinya ada enam, yaitu memperkuat kedudukan syahbandar, memperkuat kedudukan penghulu, mempertahankan Undang-Undang Simbur Cahaya, mempertahankan dan mengatur kelas sosial (sistem marga-marga), mengatur diferensiasi wajib pajak (sistem tiban tukon), serta mengontrol loyalitas elite dengan tanah lungguh (apanage). Restrukturisasi birokrasi yang diimplementasikan oleh Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II terbukti secara praktis telah membuat tata kelola kesultanan lebih stabil, efektif, efisien, memperkuat monopoli perdagangan, dan membawa kemakmuran. Namun, intrik dan pengkhianatan berhasil menggulingkan Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin hingga diasingkan ke Ternate dan terpaksa meninggalkan tanah airnya jatuh ke tangan kolonialis.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas seputar tradisi musim haji pada masyarakat Mandailing Natal. Tradisi pada musim haji merupakan sebuah tradisi yang sudah lama dilakukan oleh masyarakat Mandailing Natal. Tradisi haji memang menjadi sebuah tradisi sakral bagi banyak masyarakat di Indonesia, salah satunya masyarakat Mandailing Natal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologi agama. Sumber utama dalam penelitian ini ialah wawancara mendalam terkait tradisi pada musim haji di Mandailing Natal kepada sejumlah tokoh masyarakat setempat, yaitu Amirul Latif Lubis, Dedek Fauzi, Marwansyah Lubis, dan Yusuf Akbar. Sementara sumber pendukung didapat dari buku, jurnal, dan penelitian ilmiah lainnya yang relevan dengan tema yang dibahas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat tiga tradisi besar pada musim haji di Mandailing Natal, yaitu: marbante, mangalomang, dan khataman Al-Qur'an Marbante adalah tradisi menyembelih hewan kurban (sapi atau kerbau) yang kemudian dibagikan kepada masyarakat sekitar. Namun pada masa sekarang tradisi ini tidak hanya dilakukan pada musim haji, namun pada perayaan-perayaan besar lainnya. Mangalomang adalah tradisi memasak lemang bersama-sama di salah satu rumah warga. Biasanya tradisi ini dilakukan pada saat memasuki bulan Ramadhan dan menjelang hari raya Idul Fitri. Khataman Al-Qur'an adalah tradisi yang dilakukan dengan membaca Al-Qur'an bersama-sama pada malam hari dan menamatkan bacaannya pada malam itu juga. Selain itu, tradisi musim haji di Mandailing juga menjadi cara untuk menunjukkan kelas sosial dalam masyarakat di Mandailing Natal.

Abstract

Hingga saat ini, banyak pemikiran yang harus diubah terkait dengan fokus pada sejarah. Di sekolah, garis besar yang dianggap melelahkan oleh siswa biasanya menyertakan model asli. Kebanyakan siswa menganggap model asli melelahkan karena mereka hanya fokus pada mengingat karakter, kesempatan, dan tempat yang unik. Hal lain yang membuat penggambaran di sekolah terkesan membosankan adalah karena guru yang menampilkan jiwa atau semangat sejarah itu sendiri tidak bisa. Dalam ujian kali ini, strategi tes yang digunakan adalah pengembangan dengan menggunakan ranah dasar, yaitu pengembangan media pembelajaran Sejarah yang diperkenalkan dalam bentuk komik yang diharapkan dapat memudahkan pendidik dalam menyampaikan contoh materi dan membantu siswa dalam memahami materi. Dari hasil tes ini, 80% seluruh anggota kelas mampu mempertahankan materi yang disampaikan dengan baik sehingga tujuan akhir dapat tercapai. Melalui komik, menciptakan perjumpaan dapat mewujudkan faktor-faktor nyata siswa dalam pembelajarannya. Media pembelajaran melalui komik yang menarik dan ringan berarti siswa sering kali tertarik untuk belajar lebih banyak. atau sebaliknya, ceritanya dibedakan dengan memanfaatkan kesempatan mereka untuk membaca dengan cermat materi pemahaman sekolah.
