Abstract

This study aims to analyze the difficulties students face in solving problems related to proportional comparison. This study employs a case study method based on the errors made by students in solving problems related to proportional comparison. Four students were selected as a theoretical sample from a group of 34 seventh-grade students at the junior high school in Tasikmalaya. These students were chosen due to their complex levels of errors, which included procedural errors, incomplete solutions, and mistakes in determining mathematical formulas. The results of the study indicate that students experience difficulties in solving proportional comparison problems, including: (1) difficulty in understanding mathematical language, (2) difficulty in understanding word problems, (3) the influence of mathematics anxiety, and (4) differences in learning styles. Interviews and classroom observations revealed that factors such as less varied teaching methods, a lack of contextual practice, and low learning motivation contribute to the difficulties experienced by students. The discussion of the research results emphasizes the importance of more interactive and contextual teaching approaches to enhance students' understanding of the concept of proportional comparison. The implications of this study highlight the need for the development of more innovative teaching materials and the use of educational technology to help students overcome these difficulties.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan dan workshop perancangan pembelajaran matematika bagi guru sekolah dasar dengan fokus pada integrasi Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPACK). TPACK merupakan pengetahuan profesionalisme guru yang penting untuk mengintegrasikan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, membantu guru merancang pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien, mulai dari penyusunan skenario, skema alur, perangkat, praktik, hingga evaluasi dan refleksi pembelajaran. Metode pengabdian ini melibatkan pelatihan dan workshop yang diselenggarakan dalam bentuk seminar, pelatihan, pendampingan, Focus Group Discussion, dan simulasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 peserta yang merupakan guru inti dari seluruh Sekolah Dasar Negeri di wilayah Kecamatan Cisayong Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Kegiatan dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 29 Juli hingga 19 Agustus 2023, bertempat di SD Negeri Inpres Cigorowong. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa peserta dapat menyusun skenario, skema alur, serta perangkat pembelajaran berbasis TPACK, termasuk RPP, bahan ajar, LKPD, media berbasis Applet Geogebra, dan instrumen evaluasi. Diskusi dari hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dan workshop ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran matematika yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi. Implementasi dari hasil pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar, memperkuat peran TPACK dalam pengajaran, dan memberikan dampak positif pada proses pembelajaran dan prestasi siswa. The purpose of this study is to provide training and workshops on designing mathematics teaching for elementary school teachers with a focus on integrating Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPACK). TPACK is a crucial aspect of teachers' professionalism, enabling the integration of technology into teaching, assisting teachers in designing effective and efficient teaching, ranging from the development of teaching scenarios, lesson flow schemes, teaching tools, teaching practices, to evaluation and reflection on teaching. The research methodology involves training and workshops conducted in the form of seminars, training sessions, mentoring, Focus Group Discussions, and simulations. This activity is attended by 30 participants who are core teachers from all public elementary schools in the Cisayong District, Tasikmalaya Regency. The activity takes place from July 29 to August 19, 2023, at SD Negeri Inpres Cigorowong. The research findings indicate that participants are able to formulate teaching scenarios, lesson flow schemes, and TPACK-based teaching tools, including lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, Applet Geogebra-based media, and evaluation instruments. Discussion of the research results indicates that these training and workshops are effective in enhancing teachers' understanding and skills in designing technology-integrated mathematics teaching. The implementation of these research findings is expected to enhance the quality of mathematics teaching in elementary schools, strengthen the role of TPACK in teaching, and have a positive impact on the teaching process and students' achievement.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu keterampilan pendidikan abad 21 yang harus dimiliki peserta didik. Dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, maka kegiatan pembelajaran matematika hendaknya mendorong peserta didik untuk terampil dalam pemecahan masalah. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan lembar kegiatan peserta didik (LKPD). Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk membuktikan secara ilmiah bahwa pengembangan LKPD dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah systematic literature review, yaitu menganalisis hasil penelitian terdahulu yang memiliki kesamaan tema dan pertanyaan penelitian. Artikel rujukan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui pencarian pada google cendekia, dan diperoleh 20 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, yaitu artikel yang di publikasikan pada rentang tahun 2013-2022 dan memuat tema tentang pengembangan LKPD dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Hasil uji ahli dan uji kelayakan menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan LKPD dan penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Pengembangan LKPD yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terdahulu menggunakan basis model pembelajaran dan pendekatan yang berbeda, seperti Metakognisi, inquiry, pendekatan contextual teaching and learning, scientific approach atau pendekatan saintifik, berbasis TPACK, Guided Discovery, CORE, kelancaran procedural, discocery learning,  RME, dan PBL. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik meningkat setelah menggunakan LKPD yang sudah dikembangkan.

Abstract

Perguruan tinggi merupakan salah satu subsistem pendidikan nasional yang memiliki peran cukup penting. Peran tersebut terselenggara melalui penerapan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, yaitu pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan dengan mengadakan KKM (Kuliah Kerja Mahasiswa). Kondisi normal baru saat ini menjadi tantangan dalam melaksanakan KKM sehingga tujuan pelaksanaan KKM saat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam menghadapi era normal baru sesuai protocol kesehatan dan tetap mampu menjaga ketahanan pangan dan kesehatan lingkungan. KKM dilakukan dikecamatan Gerogol tepatnya di lingkungan kebon pisang. KKM dilakukan secara interaktif berbasis internet dan learning management system. Hasil pengabdian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa melalui edukasi yang telah dilakukan dapat memberikan pengetahuan, dan pengalaman dalam menghadapi era normal baru sesuai protocol kesehatan dan tetap mampu menjaga ketahanan pangan serta menjaga kesehatan lingkungan.

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) on set material with the context of school snacks for Junior High School students. The main focus of this study is to support students' understanding of basic set concepts, such as subsets, intersections, and unions, through a contextual approach that is relevant to students' daily lives. The research method used is educational design research, which includes the planning, implementation, and analysis phases of learning outcomes. The subjects of the study were grade VII students at a junior high school in Tasikmalaya City. The research instruments included: observation sheets, concept understanding tests, and interviews to explore students' thinking processes during learning. The results showed that the use of the school snack context was relevant to the topic of sets and was able to increase students' interest and motivation in learning set material. Students' conceptual understanding also increased significantly, especially in identifying set elements, as well as understanding intersections and unions between sets through visual representations and group activities. The discussion of these results emphasizes that HLT with everyday contexts, such as school snacks, provides opportunities to link abstract material to students' real experiences, thus facilitating meaningful learning. The implementation of this research provides practical implications for teachers in designing context-based learning that can be used for other materials, as well as a reference for developing a curriculum that is more relevant to life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain pembelajaran materi teorema Pythagoras melalui Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) berbasis Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) dengan Model Inkuiri Terbimbing menggunakan konteks Lintasan MRT. Jenis pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Design Research. Karakteristik esensial dari design research yaitu berbentuk siklus (cyclic). Subjek penelitian pada siklus 1 atau pengajaran awal/preliminary teaching melibatkan 6 orang siswa di Sekolah Surau Merantau kelas 8 SMP. Pada siklus 2 atau uji coba pengajaran/teaching experiment dengan subjek sebanyak 26 siswa kelas 8 di SMPIT Asy-Syukriyyah. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil analisis retrospektif menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan konteks lintasan MRT dalam kegiatan belajar mengenai teorema Pythagoras berbasis TPACK dengan model inkuiri terbimbing dapat mendukung siswa untuk dapat aktif berdiskusi. Penggunaan konteks lintasan MRT juga mendukung siswa mengenal akan keterkaitan konteks lintasan MRT dengan segitiga siku-siku dan teorema Pythagoras.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendesain pembelajaran kesebangunan bangun datar melalui perancangan hipotesis lintasan belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode penelitian desain, yang meliputi tahapan sebagai berikut: persiapan dan desain, eksperimen pengajaran, dan analisis retrospektif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan beberapa teknik yaitu dokumentasi hasil kerja siswa, rekaman video, dan wawancara selama kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus di SMP Negeri 3 Kota Serang. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX C (siklus pertama) dan IX A (siklus kedua). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dapat melalui hipotesis lintasan belajar melalui konteks bangunan bersejarah kota tua, yang terdiri dari aktivitas: (1) mengamati gambar asli dengan gambar di dalam foto, (2) menunjukkan bagian yang bersesuaian, (3) menemukan perbandingan yang sama, (4) mengidentifikasi dua bangun datar, (5) mengelompokkan sisi dan sudut yang bersesuaian dengan bantuan geogebra, (6) menganalisis syarat kesebangunan bangun datar, (7) memecahkan masalah kontekstual yang berkaitan dengan kesebangunan.

Abstract

The background to this research is that there are very few numeracy literacy questions, students are still not trained enough to work on numeracy literacy questions, and teachers are not optimal in understanding the development of numeracy literacy questions even though in an effort to improve HOTS abilities students need to get used to dealing with numeracy literacy questions. This study aims to develop a math HOTS measuring instrument for first semester VII graders of junior high school (SMP) students. The research method is research and development with ADDIE stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used in the research were numeracy literacy test questions in the form of descriptions, observation sheets, response questionnaires, and interview sheets. The research flow begins with the initial analysis, the development of a grid of numeracy literacy questions, expert validation, revision, practitioner testing, small-scale trials, revisions, and large-scale trials. The results of the study were 18 items of numeracy literacy with Competency Standards for Numbers, Sets, Algebra, and Systems of Two-Variable Linear Equations. The numeracy literacy instrument indicators developed include analytical, evaluation, and creative abilities. The questions developed have valid quality as seen from the validity test of all the items above 0.5, reliability 0.86, difficult and moderate difficulty levels, and good and sufficient discriminating power. The mean HOTS score of students was 71. The conclusion of this study was to produce a valid and reliable HOTS measuring numeracy literacy instrument for junior high school students.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a Mathematics numeracy literacy instrument on algebra liner material in vocational schools that is tested for validity and reliability, as well as through systematic analysis of instruments with differentiating power tests and difficulty indexes. This type of research is a development study with the Wilson model and the Oriondo and Antonio model. The data collection method uses interviews, expert validation sheets, questionnaires and numeracy literacy tests. The data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results of the research obtained are: 1) expert assessment states that this numeracy literacy instrument is an instrument that is suitable for use; 2) the readability test shows that this numeracy literacy instrument is categorized as "good", 3) the validity test shows that this instrument is valid; 4) this numeracy literacy instrument is a reliable instrument with a reliability value of ri>rtable; 5) it has a good interpretive power with the conclusion that it can be used without revision; 6) Medium average difficulty index of question items. So that the resulting instrument is an instrument that is suitable for measuring students' numeracy literacy. Abstract

Background: In today's ever-changing landscape, students need strong numerical literacy skills to navigate life's complexities. Recognizing that students come with various learning capabilities, often referred to as "instructional levels," educators must think outside the box when it comes to teaching methods.Aim: This study aims to 1) gauge whether creative problem solving (CPS) or scientific learning is more effective in enhancing the numerical literacy skills of MA students; 2) assess the difference in the numerical literacy progress among MA students categorized at independent, instructional, and frustration levels; and 3) explore the interplay between teaching methods and instructional levels on students’ numerical literacy development.Method: Conducted as an experimental study, this research employs a 3x2 factorial design. Participants include students from Class X IPA at MAN 2 Serang. To collect data, we used tests focused on numerical literacy as well as assessments to categorize instructional levels. A two-way ANOVA serves as the statistical approach to test our hypotheses.Result: 1) MA students exposed to the CPS method showed greater improvements in their numerical literacy skills than those who engaged in scientific learning; 2) A noticeable variance exists in the growth of numerical literacy skills among MA students at independent, instructional, and frustration levels; 3) An interaction effect was identified between the chosen teaching method and the instructional level in shaping the numerical literacy skills of MA students.Conclusion: The study concludes that creative problem-solving is more potent than scientific learning in elevating the numerical literacy of MA students. Furthermore, instructional levels play a crucial role in this improvement. A synergistic effect between the teaching approach and instructional level was also found to influence the numerical literacy outcomes.
