Abstract

Kegagalan poros poros pompa pendingin air laut di atas kapal sering terjadi. Penelitian dan studi untuk menganalisa kasus kegagalan poros pompa di kapal sangat perlu dilakukan. Penelitian sangat perlu dilakukan untuk menentukan jenis dan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kerusakan pada poros pompa. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metodologi pengujian material. Material yang diuji adalah poros pompa yang mengalami kegagalan saat penggunaannya. Poros pompa yang mengalami patahan dibuat spesimen agar dapat dilakukan pengujian. Pengujian dilakukan dengan metode uji komposisi, uji kekerasan dan uji mikrografi. Hasil pengujian yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalis dengan membandingkan dengan standar yang sudah ada agar disimpulkan apa yang menjadi penyebabnya. Data pembanding yang digunakan adalah material dengan standar AISI 4145. Hasil pengujian didapatkan bahwa komposisi kimia material poros pompa yang mengalami patah terdapat banyak perbedaan dengan nilai standar AISI 4145. Nilai kekerasan material poros yang patah pada pengujian Vickers Hardness Test terjadi penurunan yang cukup drastis jika dibandingkan dengan nilai standart Hardness Vickers. Struktur mikro spesimen material poros pada patahan mempunyai fasa pearlit. Apabila dilihat dari struktur mikro, material poros yang patah tersebut telah mengalami perubahan fasa dari martensit temper ke pearlit hal ini disebabkan karena adanya panas berlebih sehingga mengakibatkan fasa poros tidak stabil dan bertranformasi ke fasa pearlit.

Abstract

In carrying out of duties as a teacher, in addition to teaching, a teacher also required to be able to make a good scientific work. Writing ability is one of main subject of the teacher when purpose a scientific work. But the reality, still faced some teachers that minus of ability on purpose a good scientific work. Using the latest version of application technology that improved purposes scientific work progress not fully handle as well by teachers on SMA N 1 Limbangan is one of issue for the present time. FGD (Focus Discussion Group) that doing by polimarin lectures and SMA N 1 Limbangan teachers expected can improve kowladge and ability of the teachers on literature skill and purposing scientific work (chapter book) as an obbilgation of the teachers on SMA N 1 Limbangan. The result of FGD is given knowledge and skill for the teachers for using Mendeley application as a tool for citation a reference. Aside from that given knowledge and skill for the teachers abaout paraphrase of the words, its have benefite for teacher for purposing scintifics work without doing plagiarism. And the last is given knowledge and skill about using application of electronic information system called SCI hub for downloading some journal as a reference for purposing scientific work for free.

Abstract

Masyarakat yang maju dan kreatif adalah masyarakat yang selalu meningkatkan kemampuannya baik dari komponen softskill dan hardskill. Program pendampingan melalui Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) dapat menjadi solusi mendorong peningkatan kesejahteraan dan perekonomian masyarakat. Kegiatan PkM ini memiliki implikasi dan manfaat yang dapat dirasakan langsung oleh komunitas pengguna dalam masyarakat. Organisasi pendidikan tinggi dapat memenuhi kewajibannya untuk memberikan layanan masyarakat ini. Pada kegiatan PkM ini adalah pelatihan teknis pengelasan untuk warga di lingkungan Kelurahan Beji Kecamatan Ungaran Timur Kabupaten Semarang Jawa Tengah. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra adalah kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pengelasan. Pelaksanaan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi salah satunya adalah kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dari Polimarin dengan memberikan dukungan para dosen dan mahasiswa berbagi wawasan, pengetahuan dan ketrampilan. Pengetahuan teoritis diberikan melalui pemaparan materi dilanjutkan dengan pratek pengelasan, ini dijadikan pilihan dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan. Penilaian pengetahuan dengan metode Pre-Test dan Post-Test secara keseluruhan dari semua indikator yang diukur terdapat peningkatan signifikan sebesar 134,05 %. Pada awal pelaksanaan praktek, semua peserta kesulitan untuk menyalakan busur las kemudian dilakukan latihan berulang-ulang. Akhirnya semua peserta mampu membuat alur pengelasan dengan baik pada posisi pengelasan horizontal.

Abstract

Mesin diesel banyak digunakan pada dunia industri dan transportasi karena kehandalannya. Di dunia transportasi laut mesin diesel digunakan sebagai mesin induk kapal yang berfungsi untuk menggerakkan kapal. Salah satu komponen yang penting pada mesin diesel adalah injektor yang bertugas untuk menyemprotkan bahan bakar ke ruang bakar. Apabila terjadi masalah pada injektor maka akan berpengaruh pada proses pembakaran sehingga dapat menurunkan kinerja mesin induk kapal. Parameter pada penelitian ini adalah diameter nosel sebesar 0,2 mm. Variasi tekanan input yang digunakan adalah 290, 310, 330 bar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh parameter tekanan injektor yang optimum. Data yang diperoleh adalah sudut semprotan, panjang semprotan dan waktu semprotan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode simulasi dan eksperimen. Simulasi menggunakan software CFD komersial sedangkan eksperimen dengan menguji injektor menggunakan injektor tester. Hasil pengujian variasi tekanan injektor 290, 310 dan 330 bar diperoleh data-data sudut semprotan masing-masing sebesar 13o, 14o, 15o. Panjang semprotan semuanya sama 100 mm tetapi waktu yang diperlukan untuk menyentuh dinding berbeda-beda, masing-masing 0,00199; 0,00197; 0,00195 sekon. Parameter optimum pada penelitian ini adalah tekanan input injektor 330 bar menghasilkan sudut semprotan 15o, Panjang semprotan 100 mm dengan waktu tercepat yaitu 0,00195 sekon.

Abstract

The research method used was a qualitative experiment, starting with taking broken piston rings No. 2 and 3, cutting the piston rings and testing them with hardness tests and composition tests carried out at the Indonesian State Maritime Polytechnic and Undip Central Java Integrated Lab. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the used broken ring number 3 has the highest hardness of 140.26 HB and the used ring number 2 is 131.50 HB, so it can be concluded that the piston ring that has been used and exposed to high heat causes an increase in hardness and causes it to break. The composition test results showed that the carbon content of the new ring no. 2 was the highest at 15.30% and that in the used ring no. 2 was 12.08% because the compression ring was in direct contact with the compression chamber or in contact with heat. For the used number 3 piston ring, the carbon content is 10.43 and the new one is 11.02 because it is positioned below the compression ring and is not in direct contact with heat. for the used ring no.2, the Silicon (Si) content is low, namely 2.15% compared to the new one, 2.75% because the nature of Silicium is that it is resistant to high temperatures and as a compression ring compared to ring no.3, fracture occurs because there are no Manganese or Phosphate elements. which is wear resistant, strong and elastic. The microstructure of piston ring No. 2 is broken and the new two piston rings are less dense and have rough gaps. The broken piston ring structure of No. 3 and the new one looks a bit gray and has high levels of graphite iron and carbon elements.

Abstract

Air compressors are auxiliary machines on board that produce compressed air on board. Compressed air is used as starting air for the main engine when the ship is about to perform maneuvers. On the MV. Maluku 8 there has been a leak in the air reservoir safety valve, where the pressure in the bottle is lacking while the air compressor is working continuously, this will result in damage to the air compressor. This research was conducted using descriptive methods and data collection techniques and interviews that aim to describe the actual situation in fact encountered in practice. Based on the results of the research, while the writer was carrying out the practice, a safety valve leak was found in the air tube (reservoir) due to dirt in the valve. The problem solver of this problem is to provide parts to the savety valve. To maximize performance and prevent air leaks in the compressor system at MV Maluku 8, there are several recommended corrective actions to expedite the performance of the main engine, including maintenance of the air compressor according to the provisions applied and proper PMS implementation.

Abstract

In the ship berthing process, ship documents are very important, especially the Sailing Approval Letter because it has a big impact on the smooth berthing of the ship and can affect the process of loading and unloading goods. Apart from that, this research discusses the factors that cause ships to be detained and the impact that ship detention has on the process of loading and unloading ships at the dock. This research is a descriptive type of research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation with primary and secondary data sources. Data analysis uses qualitative techniques. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of errors in writing the name of the ship on the Sailing Approval Letter on the smooth berthing of the ship at the destination port agented by PT. Bintang Samudra Utama. Factors that cause MT vessels. Gloria Sentosa was detained by the harbormaster because there was an error in writing the name of the ship on the Sailing Approval Letter and this had an impact on the loading and unloading process of the ship at the dock. The efforts made are that the Harbor Master and Master officers are more thorough in checking documents and the company must be more selective in choosing the ships that will be agented

Abstract

This article discusses the effect of a cracked clutch shaft on the performance of the gear pump type cargo pump at SPOB Sea World One. Damage was found to the clutch shaft which was indicated by a decrease in the pump flow rate on the ship during bunker service. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that cause clutch shaft cracks, as well as determine the impact of these cracks, and the handling efforts carried out on the clutch shaft. The method used in this research is a qualitative method which produces descriptive data in the form of written explanations. Data collection takes the form of an approach to the research object through direct observation and interviews as well as taking data from the ship. Based on the observations, it was concluded that the impact of the shaft cracking caused noise due to a gap and a drop in pump pressure. And it was found that the factor causing the shaft crack was the lack of implementation of a planned maintenance system on board the ship for the cargo pump, causing the pump to experience over running hours. Turning was carried out as an effort to handle the clutch shaft with an original diameter of 12 cm.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of carrying out scavenging inspections on main engines on MV. Melchior Schulte, during the M/E scavenging inspection, a problem was discovered in cylinder number 3, namely a broken piston ring which was caused by a lack of cylinder oil lubrication in the cylinder liner. The aim of this research is to find out the correct procedures for carrying out main engine scavenging inspections and to find out the usefulness of carrying out main engine scavenging inspections. This research uses a descriptive method, by describing, describing systematically and accurately the nature, facts and relationships between the phenomena being studied, and tends to focus attention on solutions and solutions to actual problems as they existed at the time the research was carried out. The research results showed that the procedure and time for carrying out M/E scavenging inspection must follow or comply with the provisions in the M/E manual book, with the maximum running hours on the main engine being 500 hours, and the factors that influence the implementation of M/E scavenging were obtained. inspection, namely the main engine experienced a breakdown maintenance moment due to a clogged hole occurring in the injector in cylinder number 3 and a broken piston ring cermet number 4 in cylinder number 3 on the main engine

Abstract

Research on the effectiveness of the implementation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang aims to find out how to improve the effectiveness of loading and unloading activities related to the selection of loading and unloading equipment and supporting transportation equipment. In addition, it also aims to determine supporting factors, inhibiting factors, strategies and the company's role in improving the effectiveness of the implementation of applicable SOP. As qualitative research with descriptive methods, data obtained from observation, interviews with respondents and keyperson, and documentary evidence. The results of this research are majority of companies who conduct loading and unloading products use appropriate and adequate supporting transportation equipment in accordance with applicable SOP. It can be concluded that the discipline in applying SOP when selecting loading and unloading equipment give impact to the effectiveness of loading and unloading process. The author suggests to pay attention to the age factor and maintenance of equipment and conduct a feasibility test before loading and unloading equipment is used to minimize risk
