Abstract

This research is motivated by the significant challenges faced in data presentation materials for fourth-grade students. During the learning process, teachers generally only provide explanations using static images from textbooks or the blackboard. This conventional condition directly results in low student participation, which ultimately hinders the development of their conceptual understanding, especially when trying to sort, compare, present, and analyze measurement data in the form of graphs. To overcome these critical problems, this study aims to develop an innovative learning medium called PADAI (Papan Data Interaktif), as well as to evaluate its feasibility, practicality, student responses, and its overall impact on improving students' conceptual understanding of data presentation. This study applies the Research and Development (R&D) method by utilizing the structured ADDIE development model. The results of the research successfully demonstrated that the developed PADAI medium is highly feasible and effective for classroom use. The feasibility scores obtained reached a perfect 100% from media experts, 88.33% from material experts, and 100% from educational practitioners, indicating excellent quality across all learning aspects. Furthermore, the student response questionnaires yielded a high percentage of 97.54%, which confirms that this interactive medium is exceptionally practical and well-received by the students. This medium is also proven to be highly effective in enhancing student learning outcomes, as evidenced by the average N-Gain Score calculation of 0.70, which officially falls into the high effectiveness category. In conclusion, the PADAI learning medium is fully capable of transforming the learning experience and significantly upgrading fourth-grade students' comprehension of data presentation.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of the Dragon Ball teaching model on students' critical thinking skills in science subjects in grade V of MIN 3 Lhokseumawe City. The methodology used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and pretest-posttest in the control group. The sample consisted of two classes, namely an experimental class using the Dragon Ball learning model and a control class applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, each with 31 students. Data were obtained through critical thinking ability tests conducted before the lesson (pretest) and after the lesson (posttest). The research instrument has been validated by experts to ensure that the tool is suitable for use. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistics. Before the analysis, prerequisite tests were carried out including normality and homogeneity tests, while hypothesis testing used the Independent Sample t-Test. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the average posttest score for the experimental class was 78.23, higher than the control class which reached 62.54. The normality test showed that the data from both classes were normally distributed, while the homogeneity test showed homogeneous variance. The results of the hypothesis testing showed a significant difference in critical thinking skills between students who used the Dragon Ball learning model and those who learned with the Problem Based Learning model. Thus, it can be concluded that the Dragon Ball learning model has a positive impact on students' critical thinking skills in science learning in class V MIN 3 Lhokseumawe City.
