Abstract

The production of organic vegetables at PT Tanikota Agribudaya Edulestari (TABEL) is enclave in nature as it is carried out in the midst of urban areas, making it susceptible to risks. This has led to low production yields, and the company has not been able to achieve its targets. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The data analysis method used in this research is the House of Risk (HOR). The aim is to identify risk events and risk sources that exist in the organic vegetable production stage at PT TABEL, and formulate control actions to reduce these risks. Based on the results of the study, there are 18 risk events with 16 risk sources that cause them. There are 6 risk sources that are prioritized, namely pest attacks, erratic weather, disease attacks, weeds, no clear SOPs for employees, low employee competence. To overcome these risk sources, 8 control actions were formulated, sorted by priority, namely providing training and professional certification for garden employees, making effective vegetable pesticide concoctions, routine monitoring of pests and diseases, building simple plant protection roofs, implementing intercropping systems, creating and establishing clear SOPs for employees, thorough use of mulch, more regular recording and scheduling.

Abstract

Palm sugar is a processed product from palm trees (nira) which is cultivated by many craftsmen, especially UMKM craftsmen. Activity of UMKM is an effort to increase income for palm sugar craftsmen. However, there are still obstacles in its development, namely the difficulty of obtaining raw materials in the form of nira because it is related to tradition and the low selling price of palm sugar. This low price results in the craftsmen's income being low. Generally, craftsmen never take into account production costs in detail, so that the income they earn cannot be calculated with certainty. The aim of this research is to calculate the costs and income of palm sugar craftsmen, as well as the factors that influence craftsmen to run a palm sugar business. The research method used is a case study in Ciranggem Village, Jatigede District, Sumedang Regency by taking 10 palm sugar craftsmen with census. The research results show that for one palm sugar production process, the average cost incurred is Rp. 164,000 and produces 10 kg of palm sugar. The selling price for palm sugar is Rp. 20,000/kg, so the income earned is Rp. 36,000/one production process. The R/C for palm sugar is 1.22, meaning that the palm sugar business is worth pursuing. The factors that most influence craftsmen to cultivate palm sugar are to increase family income.

Abstract

Aquaponic production results at PT Tanikota Agribudaya Edulestari (TABEL)  has not met the standards desired by the company. This is shown by the results of aquaponic vegetable and fish production which are still experiencing fluctuations. This fluctuation in production results is related to the risks that occur during the aquaponics production process. This research is qualitative and adopts a case study approach. The analysis method used is House of risk (HOR). This method involves HOR stage 1 to identify risk events and risk sources, as well as HOR stage 2 to formulate management strategies. The aim of this research is to find out what risks and sources of risk faced by PT TABEL and develop mitigation strategies to manage these risks. Based on the research results, it was found that there were 23 risk events caused by 22 risk sources in the aquaponics production process at PT TABEL. Based on the 22 risk sources identified, 8 priority risk sources were obtained, namely worker imbalance, frog-eye leaf spot disease, caterpillar pests, root rot disease, cleanliness of the place, rainy season, plants are not exposed to sunlight, and problematic fish seeds. In managing these sources of risk, 8 management action strategies have been determined which have been sorted based on implementation priorities, namely conducting routine evaluation and monitoring organized and digitalized production scheduling and record keeping, making pest traps, using biological control, arranging and rotating crops that are not exposed to sunlight, create a separate place for post-harvest activities, optimize the use of waring in roder tents, and improve good communication with fish seed suppliers.

Abstract

Urban farming is increasingly developing and gaining attention, especially because of its multifunctionality and positive effects on aspects of livelihoods, household food security, health, providing social space, green infrastructure, biodiversity, creating short food supply chains, and building social cohesion. However, urban farming can only be implemented successfully if people view it positively and accept it in their communities. The success of urban farming is rooted in the positive perceptions of those who live nearby, and these perceptions greatly influence individual acceptance. Thus, studying community perceptions will help in designing strategies to achieve successful adoption of urban farming. This research aims to describe and analyze the perceptions of the community implementing the program regarding the benefits of the urban farming program. The research design used is quantitative research using Rasch Modeling. The sample collection technique was a census, which came from members of the urban farming group in RW 04 Pajajaran District, Cicendo, Bandung City. The research results show that the community has benefited sufficiently from the existence of the urban farming program in their location. The community perception of the benefits of urban farming is that urban farming can keep the environment green, beautiful and productive. However, people think that urban farming cannot minimize household food consumption costs. This means, in implementing urban farming, environmental aspects are considered more dominant as benefits compared to aspects of respondent household resilience.
