Abstract

Abstract

Kata Kunci: tebu, analisis sistem, impor gula, usahatani, hargaAbstractSugar agroindustry has an important and strategic role for Indonesia since from the Dutch colonial era until present. Sugar production has been stagnating since 1994, indicated by decreasing production while demand continues to rise. Meanwhile, sugar import continues and tended increasing in line with growing demand. This article analyses the problems complexity of that have resulted various dynamics in sugar agroindustry, especially the stagnation of national sugar production. The method used is a systems analysis approach which based on secondary data and literature review on various indicators related to sugar agroindustry. The result show that the dynamics of Indonesia's sugar agroindustry which tends to decline caused by inefficiency in sugarcane farming, inefficiency of sugar factories/PG, and distortion by the international sugar market. Inefficiency in sugarcane farming has a direct impact on the inefficiency of PG in the sugar agroindustry chain. Meanwhile, the issue of land use competition between rice and sugar cane, indirectly has implications for PG inefficiency. Sugar agroindustry inefficiency then became more complex with the distortion of sugar prices on the international market which dropped international sugar prices. In order to overcome the problems, the development of sugarcane industry should be carried out by private sector by optimizing agricultural land outside Java. Keywords: sugarcane, system analysis, imported sugar, farming, price

Abstract

Product quality is an important aspect for consumers that can affect the continuity of the company. PT. XYZ, which is a black tea commodity company with orthodox processing, has strived to always produce quality products. However, in the process there are still product defects. Through the application of total quality management, this study aims to determine the application of product quality management, to determine the factors of product defects, and to determine the sequence of improvements that can be made. This study uses a mix method design with case study research techniques. The first and second objectives were analyzed descriptively using the Statistical Quality Control tool, while the third objective was analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process method. The results showed that quality planning experienced obstacles in the form of budget delays, scarcity of raw materials, and broken machines. Quality control is beyond the control limits due to quality defects of 2.46%. Product quality assurance is carried out through organoleptic testing. Quality improvement has not been implemented comprehensively in both the plantation and processing areas. Improvements that need to be made successively are density due to non-standard inlet temperatures, smallish due to incorrect blend composition settings , powdery due to a strong and repeated pressing process, and smokey due to lack of checking engine condition.

Abstract

Nutmeg is an Indonesian spice commodity with the highest export value in the past five years. Although Indonesia still dominates the global nutmeg market, its export volume growth rate tends to lag behind competitor countries, especially re-exporting countries. This study aims to analyze the determinants of Indonesian nutmeg export volume to the ten main importing countries in both the long and short-run. The data used are secondary data from 1994–2023, analyzed using the Error Correction Mechanism (ECM) estimation method. ECM analysis indicates that, in both the long and short-run, domestic production has an insignificant effect, Indonesia's GDP has a significant negative effect, while the GDP of destination countries, export price index, and exchange rate have significant positive effects on Indonesian nutmeg export volume to the ten main importing countries. Additionally, the population of destination countries has a significant positive effect in the long-run but is insignificant in the short-run. Moreover, the  variable in the short-run has a significant negative effect on Indonesian nutmeg export volume the ten main importing countries.

Abstract

Permaculture is an agricultural design approach that integrates social, economic, and environmental considerations. To develop sustainable agricultural practices like permaculture, specialized training is necessary due to its distinct differences from conventional farming methods. Kebun Hanif is one of the locations that applies permaculture design concepts and conducts related training programs. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Permaculture Design Course (PDC) at Kebun Hanif and assess the program’s overall effectiveness. The research employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches, using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluation model. Data collection methods include distributing questionnaires, conducting in-depth interviews, and reviewing documents. The results indicate that the PDC at Kebun Hanif, an intensive program that began in early 2022, teaches permaculture principles through an approach based on Islamic values. The evaluation, using the CIPP model, yielded positive outcomes across all aspects: context, input, process, and product. The context evaluation showed an 83% satisfaction rate, demonstrating the program's relevance to local needs. The input evaluation scored 84%, highlighting sufficient resource allocation and planning. The process evaluation scored 80%, indicating that the program was implemented as planned, though there is room for improvement. The product evaluation revealed an 80% success rate, reflecting the program’s effectiveness in achieving its goals and in the application of permaculture concepts by participants.
