Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of forward lunges training on improving the leg muscle strength of kabaddi athletes. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 34 male Kabaddi athletes from Klungkung Regency who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, selected using total sampling and then randomly allocated into treatment and control groups. Leg muscle strength was measured using a leg dynamometer during the pretest and posttest after a six-week training program. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, paired t-test, and independent t-test. The results showed that the mean leg muscle strength in the treatment group increased from 93.35 ± 4.996 kg to 150.41 ± 16.111 kg, whereas the control group increased from 95.45 ± 3.931 kg to 101.37 ± 5.483 kg. The percentage increase in the treatment group was 61.12%, higher than the 6.20% increase in the control group. The independent t-test on posttest scores showed a significant difference between groups (p < 0.001). Therefore, forward lunges training was effective in improving the leg muscle strength of kabaddi athletes.

Abstract

Low academic achievement in Physical Education is often attributed to students’ lack of motivation, whether intrinsic or extrinsic. This study aims to analyze and synthesize scientific evidence regarding the influence of these two types of motivation on PE learning outcomes through a systematic literature review. Articles were searched for in leading scientific databases using relevant keywords, with the selection process following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines and the SALSA framework. A total of eight articles met the inclusion criteria based on the PICOS framework. The synthesis results indicate that intrinsic motivation, which originates from within the students themselves, has a dominant influence in fostering active engagement, perseverance, and sustained learning success. Meanwhile, extrinsic motivation, such as teacher support, rewards, and a conducive learning environment, plays a crucial role as an initial trigger for student engagement. A synergistic combination of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation has been shown to contribute most effectively to improved learning outcomes in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The magnitude of motivation’s contribution to learning outcomes varies between 8.2% and 52.4% across studies. Therefore, physical education teachers are advised to design learning strategies that comprehensively foster intrinsic motivation while strengthening extrinsic support to achieve optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan multimedia interaktif dalam pembelajaran PJOK masih rendah, terutama pada penyampaian materi teori dan demonstrasi teknik. Kurangnya pelatihan dan pendampingan menyebabkan guru belum memiliki keterampilan memadai dalam merancang multimedia interaktif. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru PJOK dalam mengembangkan multimedia interaktif yang mendukung pembelajaran. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini menggunakan jenis kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan, dengan desain kegiatan berbasis workshop dan proyek (project-based training). Program melibatkan 20 guru PJOK SMA dan dilaksanakan melalui ceramah, diskusi, serta proyek pembuatan multimedia menggunakan aplikasi Wayground. Langkah kegiatan mencakup identifikasi kebutuhan, penyampaian materi, pendampingan praktik, dan evaluasi melalui observasi kehadiran, keaktifan, serta produk yang dihasilkan. Hasil menunjukkan seluruh peserta mengikuti kegiatan hingga akhir (100%), 80% memahami proses pembuatan multimedia, dan sebagian besar mampu menghasilkan produk yang layak digunakan. Program ini terbukti efektif meningkatkan kompetensi guru serta mendorong penerapan multimedia interaktif dalam pembelajaran PJOK. Selain berdampak pada peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat landasan teoretis mengenai pentingnya integrasi teknologi dalam pendidikan olahraga.
