Abstract

Mining activities are positive but havethe potential to cause damage and environmental degradation, one of which is due to hazardous and toxic waste generated. Producers of B3 waste must be responsible for the waste generated in accordance with applicable regulations but there are still many who neglect this responsibility so that the Company PerformanceRating Assessment Program (Proper) is made. This research was conducted by evaluating the management of B3 waste at PT. X with the Proper ChecklistEvaluation Form. This research methodology iscarried out by identifying the types of B3 waste generated and evaluating B3 waste management using the Guttman Scale by comparing the existing situation with the PROPER Checklistthen calculating the presentation of the level of conformity. The results of the study based on the results of evaluations and observations on the evaluation of B3 waste management at PT.X from 6 assessed implementations all get an %Actual Score of100%. So ,it can be concluded that the B3 waste management system at PT.X is in accordance with applicable regulations

Abstract

Organophosphate (OP) pesticides are one of the pesticides with the widest and most widespread use in the world. Excessive use of agricultural land can have a negative impact on humans and the environment. One of the alternative methods that can be used to reduce OP in the environment is adsorption using activated carbon (KA). KA has been proven to be able to deal with various hazardous substances in the environment, including pesticides. This paper aims to look at KA’s capabilities and obstacles in adsorbing OP. The results of this review show that the adsorption ability of KA on OP depends on environmental temperature and pH. At optimum temperature, OP removal can reach 99.3%, while at optimum pH, KA’s adsorption capacity can be higher up to 68.15 mg/g. Other factors such as environmental characteristics, characteristics of the train used, and target adsorbate (OP) are still challenges for future research before its application in the agricultural environment

Abstract

Dago Pakar Water Treatment Plant (WTP) capacity600 liters/second, this WTP managed by Perumda Tirtawening Kota Bandung. It was established in 1990 and is still operating today. The main problem for water authority is the raw water quality of Cikapundung River deteriorated. This study refers to water quality compared with applicable regulations, design criteria based on literature, and evaluation of existing WTP using existing secondary data. The research shows some parameters were not meet the standard, there are several units that do not comply with the design criteria, and there are problems with the operation and maintenance of the Dago Pakar WTP. The causes of the existing problems are predicted based on activities carried out in the area around the Cikapundung River, namely the flushing of sewage, disposal of domestic waste, and the use of the river as a means of agricultural irrigation. Suggestions given regarding the problems that occurred were repairing the damaged Dago Pakar WTP equipment, adding sludge processing units such as sludge drying bed (SDB) and aeration units, tightening regulations for domestic or industrial waste disposal.

Abstract

Reutilization of natural resources as a resource recovery effort is one aspect of sustainable development, one of which is the utilization of biomass waste. Biomass waste is waste from agricultural, plantation, livestock, and forestry processes that contain organic matter composed of carbon dioxide bonds, air, water, soil, and sunlight from plants and animals. Pollution by the accumulation or untreated biomasswaste will result in the potential formation of greenhouse gases (GHG). One of the efforts is to utilize biomass waste into activated carbon by carbonizing and activating the biomass waste. The indication of why biomass waste can be used as a material formaking activated carbon is because biomass waste contains lignocellulosic materials that have the ability to absorb metals and colors. The purpose of this paper is to see the potential of various kinds of biomass waste that can be utilized into activatedcarbon by conducting a journal review. The results of the review of various journals show that various kinds of biomass waste can be utilized into activated carbon. The lignocellulosic content of biomass waste consists of lignin in the range of 8%-53.85%,cellulose in the range of 6.92%-81%, and hemicellulose 11%-41%

Abstract

The Cisarua Subdistrict is part of West Bandung Regency with a population of 80,298 people in the year 2022 and an area of 55.63 km2. The development of West Bandung Regency is related to the increasing demand for drinking water. The Regional Water Company (PDAM) is needed to meet the supply of water and ensure its quality is safe. The planning of the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (IPAM) is aimed at planning the water needs in Cisarua Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency to be sufficient for the next 20 years. To plan the IPAM, it is necessary to carry out population projections, water demand projections, water quality analysis and unit selection. The projected population in the year 2042 using the arithmetic method is 105,628 people, and the projected total water demand is 210 L/second. In the results of this planning, the treatment units used are intake, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, and disinfection.

Abstract

Waste water treatment installation (WWTP) in RW 17 Melong Cimahi City according to UPTD Cimahi City Wastewater was built before 2016, so it was designed with reference to the old standard of wastewater quality, namely the Environment Ministry Regulation No. 5 of 2014. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of the municipal WWTP built before the latest regulation namely PermenLHK No. 68 Year 2016 came into force. In this study, the identification of the pipe network path and the measurement of wastewater discharge is done directly to compare with the theoretical calculation of discharges. Then the WWTP performance analysis is performed by comparing the treatment results with the quality standards. The results of the study showed that the parameters TSS, Ammonia, COD, BOD, Total Coliform did not meet the standard quality standards and only pH and Fatty Oils matched the quality standards. The study also identified the operational patterns that caused the condition to occur.

Abstract

Sukaraja Unit is a Water Treatment Plant (WTP) with a treatment capacity of 20 litres/second, Sukaraja WTP is operated by Perumda Tirta Sukapura Tasikmalaya Regency which was established in 1975 based on the legal basis of Regional Regulation of Tasikmalaya Regency Level II No. 7 of 1975 which is still in operation. The main concern is the water quality of the Ciwulan River and the produced water from the Sukaraja Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This assessment is based on design criteria from literature and applicable regulations, which are compared with water quality, water quantity, water continuity and WTP performance assessment based on existing data or secondary data. The raw water quality recorded several parameters that did not meet the quality standards and the dimensions of the treatment plant were not based on the design criteria. The basis of the existing problems is caused by the unsuitability of the operating system of the Sukaraja Water Treatment Plant. Water quality problems are caused by various activities in the area around the Ciwulan River, such as domestic waste disposal and the use of the river for agricultural irrigation. Improving the operating system of the Sukaraja Water Treatment Plant, repairing any damaged WWTP, and recommending unit dimensions that meet design criteria are suggestions that can be given from these problems.
