Abstract

The study aims to analyze the influence of the distribution of Zakat, Infaq, Sedekah, and Other Religious Social Funds (ZIS-DSKL) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth on the poverty rate in Indonesia for the period 2015-2022. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Center for Data and Information Systems of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. The analysis method employed is multiple regression. The analysis findings suggest a significant impact of the distribution of ZIS-DSKL funds and GDP growth on the poverty rate in Indonesia. The poverty rate in Indonesia can be decreased by increasing the distribution of ZIS-DSKL funds and promoting GDP growth, as revealed by their respective influences. It is important to raise public awareness about zakat obligations, ensure transparency in fund management, and carefully select programs aimed at alleviating poverty to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of ZIS-DSKL fund distribution. The government needs to continue promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth through pro-investment policies, infrastructure development, access to education and skills training, and strengthening potential economic sectors. Further research is necessary to understand the relationship between the distribution of ZIS-DSKL funds, GDP growth, and the poverty rate in Indonesia, providing deeper insights and more accurate data to formulate more effective policies to address poverty in Indonesia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Santripreneur Program by BAZNAS is a pesantren-based economic empowerment initiative aimed at enhancing the self-reliance of santri (Islamic boarding school students) through training, mentoring, and business support. However, there has been no strategic study that systematically maps the relative contribution of each program aspect and development strategy to the improvement of participants’ business performance. This study aims to determine the priority of program aspects and development strategies deemed most influential in this context. The method used is the Analytic Network Process (ANP) based on expert judgment. A total of seven expert respondents provided assessments of five clusters of program aspects including entrepreneurship training, cash assist, competition, business assistance, and monitoring and five development strategies. The results indicate that capital assistance is the highest-priority aspect, while the integration of training curriculum and sustainable mentoring schemes are the most recommended development strategies. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for strategic decision-making by BAZNAS in developing the program more effectively and sustainably.   Keywords: ANP, business performance, development strategy, pesantren entrepreneurship, Santripreneur.

Research methodology: The sample used in this study amounted to 400 participants, which were collected by online questionnaire. A logistic regression was also employed to estimate the influence of independent variables on the saving decisions of customers. This was accompanied by the implementation of descriptive analysis, to determine the characteristics of Islamic bank customers during the pandemic. Results: The characteristics of the participants were dominated by people aged 17-25, with the majority of them residing in West Java and working as a student. Besides this, data were also analyzed by using logistic regression analysis. Based on the results, several factors influenced the saving decisions of Islamic bank customers. In this case, evaluation and strategy were carried out to increase customer interest through knowledge of the types and benefits of Islamic savings. Limitations: This study was limited to the analysis of the factors influencing the saving decisions of Islamic bank customers during COVID-19. The contribution derived was also related to the saving demands of customers in Islamic banking. Contribution: The results highlighted the characteristics of Islamic bank customers during the pandemic, as reference material for banking managers to increase interest in their financial products. Originality: Based on the logistic regression, religiosity, knowledge, promotion, location, and age positively/significantly affected saving decisions at Islamic banks during the COVID-19 pandemic. This indicated that Islamic banking was not stuck in the market segment of the Muslim community, regarding the promotion of their products. In addition, promotion quality should be essentially improved, accompanied by the maintenance of business ethics and image as an Islamic bank.

Abstract

There are two purposes that want to be assessed in this paper. The first purpose is to indicate whether the moral hazard problems are occurred in the Indonesian Sharia Bank (The moral hazard in this paper is the Indirect Moral Hazard which is the negligence of bank in the financing process influencing the moral hazard problems of the debtor in the other side. The second purpose is to assess whether the financing policies in the Sharia Banking are influenced by profit sharing system. The data for assessing this paper are acquired from the monthly financial reports published by Sharia Banks such as BSM and BMI from January 200I to December 2004. The research based on the Error Correction Model in the long term shows that the increasing of allocation ratio of Murabahah to Musyarakah and Mudharabah results the increasing of non performing.financing ratio. It indicates that the moral hazard problems are occurred in BMI. The moral hazard indication demonstrates that bank is both less careful in financing and less incentive in monitoring process. It also demonstrates the weakness of the Sharia bank's operational system in countering the debtor's moral hazard. The Granger Causality Test proves that profit sharing ratio (nisbah) between bank and debtor influences return ratio, however it does not influence financing allocation). On the other hand, financing a/location ratio influences nisbah ratio, furthermore in BSM case, return ratio influences nisbah ratio. This description shows that nisbah ratio is not only an instrument for calculating revenue/return distribution but also an instrument for Sharia bank in synchronizing profit sharing level with the interest rate in conventional bank.
