Abstract

Research on the antioxidant activity test has been done on red fruit (pandanus baccari L) from Poso area Central Sulawesi. This research was conducted by laboratory experiments using maceration extraction techniques, DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil) as free radicals, vitamin C as positive control, UV-Vis spectronic as a tool for antioxidant test, and red fruit extracts as samples. The aim of this research was to determine antioxidant strength of red fruit extracts. The red fruit sample was used as much as 30 grams, and the solvent was an absolute ethanol, whereas variations in the concentration of red fruit extracts used were 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm, and 80 ppm. Antioxidant activity test was done by using a UV-Vis spectronic and IC50. The results showed that the red fruit extracts had strong antioxidant activity with the percentage of optimum activity in inhibiting free radical by 81.02%, and the IC50 value was 14.454 ppm.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to increase result of learning student at items of thermochemistry of class XI SMA Negeri 7 Palu. One of effort used to increase result of learning the by applying model the study of co-operative of type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Devision). As for which this research background because items termokimia represent the items assumed difficult by this items and student also of vital importance comprehended by student of class XI. So that is not assumed difficult, draging on and is easy to comprehended by student hence teacher have to give a pleasant study model with the model of study of co-operative of type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Devision). this Research Population is all student of class of XI IPA SMA Negeri 7 Palu of school year 2012/2013 consisted of by 3 class and sampel used consisted of by two class that is XI IPA1 as much 37 people as class of experiment and class of XI IPA2 as much 37 people as control class determined by purposive sampling. Data collecting done to use the instrument tes in the form of tes result of learning is tested by the student chemistry of validity, reliabilitas, mount the difficulty and energy of the difference. Data examination result of research use the statistical analysis test the t one party (right) with the prerequisite test, test the normalitas, and homogeneity. At this research obtained by a mean score result of learning student by using model of study of co-operative of type STAD is 13.20 while mean score result of learning student following conventiona l study 8.93. Pursuant to hypothesis examination statistically test the t one party (right) obtained by value t calc > t table that is 6.88 > 1.67 with the belief level = 0.05 and dk = 72. The result refer that result learn the student chemistry use the model of study of compared to by better type STAD co-operative result learn the student by using conventional study model.

Abstract

The use of instructional media could help teachers to develop and deepen in teaching and learning process in the classroom. This study aims to determine the effect of using atomic structure card media and periodic systems toward learning outcome of the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Palu. The population in this study was all of the eleventh grade students on Science Program of SMA Negeri 6 Palu in the academic year 2013/2014 which consists of 3 classes. The sample in this study was 30 students of Science Program 1 as the experimental class and 32 students of Science Program 2 as the control class. Testing research data used statistical analysis of the t test (right) with the prerequisite test, test for normality, and homogeneity. The data analysis result obtained for the average score in the experiment class X1 = 68.03 with deviation standard = 10.50 and the control class X2 = 54.75 with deviation standard = 9.57. Based on the testing result of hypothesis by statistical t-test values obtained right side of tcounted> ttable is 5.37 > 1.67 with a confidence level of 0.05 and degrees of freedom = 60. From the results of hypothesis testing, then, Ho was rejected so it can be concluded that there is a better influence in using atomic structure card media and periodic system toward learning outcome of the leventh grade students of SMA Negeri 6 Palu.

Abstract

Hydrocarbon is one of the chemical topics that is taught in grade X in senior high school.This topic consisted of carbon (C) and hydrogen (H) elements in the discussion process. The objective of this research was to improve the students’ learning outcomes of grade X by applying cooperative learning model make a match type in chemistry subject, with hydrocarbon material at SMA Negeri 1 Dolo in the academic year 2012/2013. The subjects of this research were the students of grade XA with the total number of 26 students. The instruments used in this research were pre-test, post-test which consist of 16 questions and observation sheets. From the students’test results; it was found that there were 23% students were in low category. After the researcher applied the cooperative learning model with Make A Match type in the first cycle, the percentage of the students’ classical completeness reached to 73%, with the classical absorption of 77% in good category. In the second cycle, the percentage of the students’ classical completeness was 96% with the classical absorption percentage of 84% which is in very good category. It could be seen from the outcomes that after cooperative learning model make a match type applied, there was an improvement in the percentage of the students’ learning outcomes.
