Abstract

This study documents a community development initiative at Ar-Rasyid Kindergarten to educate young students about plastic waste management through practical activities. The method involved conducting training sessions or workshops and providing guidance in making pencils from plastic waste. Guided by a community service team, kindergarten students engaged in hands-on projects to repurpose plastic bottles into pencil holders. Pre-tests assessed initial understanding, revealing varying levels of awareness among students. Following educational sessions and post-tests, significant improvements were observed in students' comprehension of recycling and environmental stewardship. The initiative fostered creativity and practical skills and instilled a sense of environmental responsibility in students. This underscores the importance of early education in shaping sustainable behaviors and promoting a cleaner, healthier environment. Such initiatives highlight the potential of educational interventions to empower future generations in combating plastic pollution and fostering sustainable practices.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of product quality and price on purchase decisions, with customer satisfaction as a mediating factor, focusing on Samsung smartphone users in Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the research examines the causal relationships among variables, employing Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) for analysis. Data were collected through a structured online questionnaire targeting 113 respondents using convenience sampling. The findings reveal that product quality significantly impacts customer satisfaction and directly influences purchase decisions, highlighting its pivotal role. Price also positively affects customer satisfaction but shows minimal direct influence on purchase decisions, underscoring the mediating role of satisfaction. Customer satisfaction strongly drives purchase decisions as a crucial intermediary between independent and dependent variables. These insights emphasize the necessity for businesses to prioritize product quality and strategies that enhance customer satisfaction to remain competitive in the smartphone industry.

Abstract

The Theology of Liberation in Palestine has become a phenomenon influencing the dynamics of religion, politics, and identity in Palestine and worldwide. This paper analyzes the connection between Palestinian Liberation Theology and Latin American Liberation Theology, as well as its influence on the perception and participation of Christians in the Palestinian liberation movement. The research method employed is a literature review, focusing on relevant literature search, selection, content analysis, comparison, and critical evaluation. The research findings indicate that Palestinian Liberation Theology shares the same roots as Latin American Liberation Theology, focusing on liberation from oppressive structures and restoring dignity to the oppressed. This theology has strengthened the identity of Palestinian Christians and fostered ecumenical cooperation, motivating them to engage politically in the struggle for Palestinian independence. Practical support from global Christians is reflected in concrete actions and social activities, such as support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement against Israel. Palestinian Liberation Theology has been a source of inspiration and strength for Christians in Palestine and worldwide to advocate for justice and promote sustainable peace in the region.

Abstract

Academics often face challenges in effectively navigating and analyzing the vast and growing body of scientific literature, which limits their ability to identify collaboration opportunities and emerging research trends. This study highlights developing and implementing a community service program to enhance academics' research productivity through bibliometric analysis training. Conducted online on September 6, 2024, the program gathered 34 lecturers and researchers from diverse fields. The training comprehensively introduced bibliometric concepts and practical applications, utilizing tools such as VOSviewer and Scopus Analyze. Participants gained skills in processing bibliographic data, mapping collaboration networks, and identifying emerging research trends. The initiative improved participants' understanding of bibliometric techniques and empowered them to enhance research quality and productivity. Positive feedback from participants underscores the program's success and potential to drive broader academic impact.

Abstract

Christian Education and Social Justice: Pursuing Shalom in the Public Sphere. Christian education is crucial in advancing social justice through a theological framework grounded in shalom. This article aims to critically examine how Christian education can serve as a transformative force amid global inequality and social fragmentation. A systematic literature review method was applied, analyzing peer-reviewed Scopus-indexed theology, education, and ethics publications. The findings reveal the need to integrate values such as reconciliation, compassion, inclusivity, and justice into Christian pedagogy, curriculum, and institutional culture. The approach includes relational learning, public religious pedagogy, and prioritizing marginalized communities through the principle of preferential options for the poor. The conclusion of this study is that shalom-based Christian education not only forms individuals with character, but also produces active agents of change in society. This study recommends that there needs to be an emphasis on the importance of the role of teachers, contextual curriculum, and public testimony as a real manifestation of the call of faith.

Abstract

This study explores the ethical and theological responses to climate change, particularly at the intersection of anthropocentrism and eco-theology. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), the research investigates how theological perspectives guide ethical actions in climate change mitigation, with a specific focus on the Indonesian context. The findings highlight the central roles of stewardship and justice in religious responses. Indonesian Christian, Islamic, and indigenous spiritual traditions offer unique frameworks for addressing environmental challenges, thereby enriching the global discourse on climate ethics. The study also underscores the global significance of theological contributions to climate ethics, advocating for the integration of moral responsibility and environmental justice into climate policies and actions. In doing so, it provides insights into the potential of religious institutions and theological reflections to bolster climate action, both locally and globally.
