Abstract

This research describes role of an Internatinal Organizations, United Nations on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on fighting the corruption in Indonesia, 2009-2014. The numbers of Indonesia’s corruption quantity is increasing and sreading from lowest level to the highest level. Corruption in Indonesia always growths through year to year, not only the numbers of corruption rates, but also the numbers of Indonesia’s financial loss. Fighting corruption effort quality has to be modified and advanced by Indonesia law enforcment agencies on creating just and prosper Indonesia.This research theoretically has built with pluralism perspectives on International Relations and supported by International Organizations Roles theories, and also the concept of Organized Crime. Formulation of all arguments, facts, and theoretical framework on this research is guided by qualitative explanation methods. Scope of this research is the role of UNODC on the corruptions fighting efforts of Indonesia.This research also proves that UNODC roles on handling corruption is sufficient. UNODC preventive action that has been offered to Indonesia law enforcement agencies, excluded, seminars, trainings, discussions, and workshop cooperated with national and international institutions. Considering the survey result by International Transparency, Indonesia’s score always increasing from year to year. This is also considered by UNODC roles and contributions on fighting corruptions task in Indonesia.Keywords: Corruption, UNODC Roles and Preventife Action.

Abstract

This research aims to explain Indonesia's efforts in obtaining UN Security Council seats, describes the UN and the UN Security Council and discuss the interests of Indonesia became a non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. The author uses the theory of diplomacy in the frame of the liberal perspective and analysis of the level of the nation State. The method used is descriptive qualitative methods developed by way of research libraries. The discussion started with explaining the historically about the United Nations and UN Security Council which is one of the six main bodies of the United Nations. The UN Security Council has the task of maintaining international peace and security. Then proceed with the interests of Indonesia to become one of non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. After it analyzes the efforts Indonesia became a member of non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council period 2019-2020. The results of this research concluded that the success of Indonesia became a member of the UN Security Council is efforts through a multitrack diplomacy strategy. With the jargon of The True Partner for World Peace Indonesia that compete with Maldives could won a member seat at the UN Security Council. This is not just a triumph of soft power, but it also provides an invaluable opportunity for Indonesia to achieve the national interests, world peace and security as well as enhancing his reputation.            Keywords: Indonesia, The UN Security Council, The National Interest

Abstract

This study will explain about Japanese strategy against Russia on Kuril Islands dispute. Problems that have occurred impact on the bilateral relationship between Japan and Russia. During the conflict between the two countries do confrontation that resulted in this conflict continues to take place. Strategies that do claim the Japanese in the other Kuril Islands between Japan cooperate with the United States in the field of defense, japan use international law to pressure Russia in ownership Kuril Islands, Japan using the Vienna Convention to strengthen its position on the Kuril Islands, Japan withdrew its ambassador from RussiaKeywords: Kuril Islands, Japanese strategy, defense cooperation, the Law Internasioanal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reasons why Canada strengthen its military in the Arctic. In2005, under the leadership of Canadian prime minister, Paul Martin, Canada issuedInternational Policy Statement which emphasize the strengthening of Canadian military inthe Arctic. Furthermore, since 2006, under the new leadership of Canadian prime minister,Stephen Harper, Canada has announced its policy to strengthen the Canadian military in theArctic.This study uses the qualitative research methods with references taken from books, journals,papers and valid news from web. This study uses state-level analysis. The author uses neorealistperspective, and the theory of action-reaction model by Barry Buzan to analyze thequestion of the research.Since the end of the Cold War, Canadian military activity re-emerged in the Arctic region in2002, indicated by military operation and the presence of Canadian warships. In 2001,Russia claimed a region in the Arctic, which cause the territorial dispute with Canada.Russia also released the maritime doctrine in 2001, that emphasize the strengthening ofRussian naval power in the Arctic region. Under the leadership of Russian president VladimirPutin, and also to Dmitry Medvedev, Russian has strengthened its military in the Arctic bystrategic flights, balistic misille launching, military exercises, and with construction andmodernization of Russian Northern Fleet. Russian’s policy to strengthen its military in theArctic is a threat to Canada, so since 2005, Canadian Government has strengthened itsmilitary in the Arctic.Key Word: Arctic Ocean, Canadian military strengthening, territorial dispute, threat.

Abstract

This study aims to illustrate the phenomena occurring in Eastern Europe, especially Russia and Ukraine, as well as NATO involvement in it. Russia and NATO have a long and quite dynamic relationship. NATO continues to increase its military activity in Eastern Europe and it is getting closer to the Russian border. NATO carried out a series of military activities because it wanted to limit the hegemony of Russia in Eastern Europe especially after the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula. This research theoretically has built by using Kenneth Waltz NeoRealism perspective on International Relations and supported by National Security from Barry Buzan. Formulation of all arguments, data, facts, and theoritical framework in this research using qualitative explanation methods. This research also using nation-state as the level of analyze. This study aims to describe the condition of Russia's security dilemma in deciding NATO's actions as defensive or offensive. A defensive reaction may occur if Russia never do counter attack. An Offensive reaction in the security strategies adopted by Russia to deal with NATO could shape the Balance Of Power. Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe food insecurity, explaining Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), dan to find out inhibiting factors for handling food insecurity by FAO in South Sudan.The perspective used by researcher in this study is pluralism which states that non-state actor is one of actors in international relations and author also used theory of international organization. The level of analysis is group behaviour that is group behaviour became a main focus of this research. The method used by researcher to exmine this research is by qualitative method, where research conduct research through books, official web and journals concerned with the research.The result of this study is the inhibiting factors for handling food insecurity by FAO in south Sudan 2014-2017 are conflict and violence, poor infrastructure, high inflation, and climate change.Keyword: Food insecurity, FAO, IPC, South Sudan

Abstract

This research discusses about the Indonesia has not ratified the conventions and protocols Beijing in 2010 as a new international law and was formally organized as a cooperative effort of countries in the international community for the international peace and security. National security became the main factor is the implementation of international agreements. Where state actors have an important role in national and international policy makers who represent the interests of the nation. However, the crime of terrorism continues to haunt the world of international flights by using aircraft as a means to commit acts of crime. This case raises fears for all the nations of the world up to the present time, where at any time the threat of evil can befall a country's national airline. for it, is expected to allow countries to understand which policies appropriate for use as a guideline to achieve a national interest.Keywords: Convention, Protocol, National Security, Ratified

Abstract

This research explains the factors that caused increase women trafficking in Nigeria. Nigeria ranks Tier 2 in Watch List. Nigeria known as a transit, destination and origin country of human trafficking. In the last decade thousands of Nigerian women and girls have been trafficked into sex industry mainly to Europe. Italy is one of the countries where many Nigerian women and girls are trafficked. This research uses Constructivism perspective in International Relations. This research is also supported by Criminal Model and Human Rights Model theories and human trafficking concept. While level analysis used is society. Fact, data, arguments, and theoretical framework of this research formulate by using qualitative description. This research intended to show the factors that caused increase women trafficking in Nigeria. It is known that Nigerian women’s trafficking according to NAPTIP and IOM reports has increased significantly. Particularly from Edo state, with Italy as its main destination. The factors that caused increase women trafficking in Nigeria in this research divided into two types, internal and external. The internal factor is poverty, lack of education and knowledge, corruption, social and cultural circumstances and the practice of voodoo/Juju. Abstract

This research is the study of diplomacy and strategy analyzes about motivation Philippines conduct defense and security cooperation with the United States in the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) in 2014. This research used qualitative methods which is done by explaining the case based on existing facts. The techniques used to collects data to study the case to library research in the form of journals, books, report and website. The theoretical framework applied in this research are neorealism perspective, national interest concept from Hans J. Morgenthau, nation-state analysis level and decision making theory from Richard C. Snyder. This research is motivated Philippines conduct defense and security cooperation with the United States in the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) on 28th April 2014 because internal and external conditions of the Philippines confront of disputes South China Sea. The dispute dealing with one of the great strength in Asia namely Tiongkok. The Philippines considers Tiongkok military strength from year to year has increased and Tiongkok strengthening its military presence to occupy more islands the disputed Spratly Island in the Philippines. Forms of this cooperation is the Philippines offered military bases to the United States, joint military exercises, maritime patrol by the United States and modernizing the armed forces of the Philippines.Keywords: Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), Philippines, United States.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze cultural diplomacy, that explain about Indonesia’s desire for improve cooperation with Azerbaijan through Wonderful Indonesia in 2016 and 2017 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Cultural diplomacy is a category of soft diplomacy in the implementation of a country’s foreign policy. Cultural instruments used by Indonesia in the implementation of diplomacy through Indonesian Cultural Festival can reflect situation and diversity of Indonesian culture.This study uses neorealist perspectives by Kenneth Waltz, the analysis unit of the nation state and uses the theory of diplomacy by S.L Roy and supported by the concept of cultural diplomacy by Tulus Warsito and Wahyuni Kartikasari.This research shows that the Indonesian Cultural Festival stole the attention of many Azerbaijans and middle Asian citizens, seen from the number of visitors or viewers who reaced thousands of people and continue to increase every year. Increased knowledge and interest about indonesian culture are expected can attract Azerbaijan citizen to visit Indonesia.
