Abstract

One of the health problems caused by the work environment is exposure to dust which can enter through the respiratory tract in humans which causes respiratory complaints. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence respiratory complaints. The research design is cross-sectional. The research subjects were 27 employees in the animal feed production division who were selected by simple random sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that the p value is less than 0.05. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between years of service, length of work, smoking habits and use of masks with the incidence of respiratory complaints.Keywords: respiratory complaints; dust content; years of service; long working time; smoking habit; mask wearingABSTRAK Salah satu gangguan kesehatan yang diakibatkan oleh lingkungan kerja adalah paparan debu yang dapat masuk melalui saluran pernapasan pada manusia yang mengakibatkan keluhan pernapasan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap keluhan pernapasan. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional. Subyek penelitian adalah 27 karyawan dibagian produksi pakan ternak yang dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis memakai uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai p kurang dari 0,05. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan antara masa kerja, lama kerja, kebiasaan merokok dan penggunaan masker dengan kejadian keluhan pernapasan.Kata kunci: keluhan pernafasan; kadar debu; masa kerja; lama waktu kerja; kebiasaan merokok; pemakaian masker

Abstract

Density of flies was a health problem that must be controlled so as not to cause health problems. One of the control methods was by physically controlling using ecofriendly flytrap with organic bait, namely fish waste, which is a salted fish and natural bait. The research objective was to analyze the effectiveness of fish waste, salted fish, and natural bait as fly bait on ecofriendly flytrap. This type of research is quasi-experimental using the post test group design. The results of the data were based on the calculation of the number of flies and measurements of physical environmental factors in the field for 9 days. Then, the data were analyzed using the Kruskall Wallis statistical test with α of 5%. The results showed that fish waste bait attracted more flies than salted fish bait and natural bait, while statistical tests showed that there were differences in the number of flies caught in fly traps with various baits according to the hypothesis, namely p value <0.05. Fish waste was effectively used as bait in an ecofriendly flytrap.

Abstract

A family latrine is a building that is used to dispose of human feces or najis for a family which is commonly called a latrine or WC. For houses that do not have latrines, it is certain that they will use rice fields, rivers, gardens, ponds, or other places to defecate. Dingil Village in Jatirogo District has 1,011 houses with the highest number of Open Defecation (OD) namely 199 houses (20%) still open defecation, 812 houses have access to healthy latrines. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinant factors associated with the high number of OD in Dingil Village, Jatirogo District, Tuban Regency. This study uses an analytical method with a case control approach. Data was collected by interview and observation using a questionnaire sheet and instruments. The population in this study was 199 houses consisting of 66 people defecating (case group) and 66 people defecating in the toilet (as control). The data obtained were then analyzed using the Odds Ratio. The results showed that the aspects of knowledge, attitude and availability of good clean water turned out to be more than 65% of the community still defecating in any place, except for the type of good latrine, only 18.2% were open defecation. Knowledge, attitude and availability of clean water are not determinants of the high number of OD, except the type of latrine is a determinant factor of the high number of OD. It is recommended that the community no longer use rice fields, rivers, swamps for open defecation, share with family members whose houses are close together and apply a clean and healthy lifestyle to create an environment free of dirt/feces.

Abstract

The content of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in compost formed from market waste is very beneficial for the community as well as preventing problems caused by easily decomposed organic waste such as odors, vectors for disease and environmental pollution. Therefore, research is needed which aims to analyze the content of N, P, and K in humus in the soil for temporary storage of market waste. This study applied a cross-sectional approach. Sampling of humus from waste was carried out at a temporary storage site for market waste in the Magetan Regency area, then the N, P and K content was examined in the laboratory. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the average content of N = 0.84%, P = 0.54% and K = 0.87%. This figure complies with SNI 19-7030-2004, namely not less than 0.4% (N), 0.1% (P) and 0.2% (K). It is recommended that every market in the Magetan Regency utilize organic waste as compost material and further research is carried out through laboratory experiments to get the best types of natural microbes in the humus formed from waste in the Magetan Regency market.Keywords: market; organic waste; compost; nitrogen; Phosphor; potassium ABSTRAK Kandungan nitrogen (N), fosfor (P) dan kalium (K) pada kompos yang terbentuk dari sampah pasar sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat sekaligus mencegah terjadinya permasalahan yang diakibatkan oleh sampah organik yang mudah membusuk seperti bau, sarang vektor penyakit dan pencemaran lingkungan. Maka diperlukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan N, P, dan K pada humus di tanah tempat penampungan sementara sampah pasar. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan cross-sectional. Pengambilan sampel humus sampah dilakukan di tempat penampungan sementara sampah pasar di Wilayah Kabupaten Magetan, selanjutnya diperiksa kandungan N, P dan K di laboratorium. Selanjutnya data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan rata-rata N = 0,84%, P = 0,54% dan K = 0,87%. Angka ini telah memenuhi SNI 19-7030-2004 yaitu tidak kurang dari 0,4% (N), 0,1% (P) dan 0,2% (K). Disarankan agar setiap pasar di wilayah Kabupaten Magetan memanfaatkan sampah organik sebagai bahan kompos dan dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut melalui eksperimen laboratorium untuk mendapatkan jenis mikroba alami yang terbaik pada humus yang terbentuk dari sampah di pasar Kabupaten Magetan.Kata kunci: pasar; sampah organik; kompos; nitrogen; fosfor; kalium

Abstract

The brick industry is an industry where almost all of the processes are done traditionally. Workers' body postures when working are often not ergonomic, so there is a risk of causing muskuloskeletal complaints. This study aims to determine the effect of work posture on musculoskeletal complaints in brick industry workers in Kasreman Village, Kandangan District, Kediri Regency. This type of research is analytic observational with a cross-sectional approach. This study includes a population study with the entire population as a sample of 57 people. Data were collected by observing work postures using the Ovako Working Analysis System (OWAS) method and interviews about musculoskeletal complaints felt by workers using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately with Chi Square test and continued with Fisher's Exact. The results of this study indicate that most of the workers have a high category of work posture, aged > 35 years, and have high category of musculoskeletal complaints. Statistical test results show that there is an effect of work posture and age on musculoskeletal complaints in brick industry workers in Kasreman Village, Kandangan District, Kediri Regency in 2021. It is recommended for workers to pay attention to their work postures, adjust work and rest times, and stretch muscles. Industrial owners should pay more attention to workplace conditions, arrange work and rest times, and be able to provide sufficient and shady land to rest.

Abstract

PT Tri Ratna Diesel Lamongan is a pioneer company in Indonesia that produces various types of ships. Activities of the company can lead to various risks such as accidents and occupational disease, regarding that issue, the company needs to implement occupational health and safety management system that has been known globally. Therefore, PT. Tri Ratna Diesel implements ISO 45001:2018 to create safe and healthy working conditions for all workers. This study aimed to determine the quality of the OHS management system based on ISO 45001:2018 implemented at PT. Tri Ratna Diesel Lamongan. This research used a descriptive research method with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected by interviews and observations. Interviews were conducted with the persons in charge of the OH&S section and the public relations section. The analysis was used to determine the quality of ISO 45001:2018 at PT. Tri Ratna Diesel Lamongan was gap analysis. The result of the assessment implementation of ISO 45001:2018 used gap analysis showed that the percentage of assessment in clause 5 about leadership and work participation was 93.75% (good), clause 9 about performance evaluation was 92.30% (good), clause 10 about continuous improvement was 100% (very good). These results indicate that the requirements and procedures of ISO 45001: 2018 have been implemented and well documented. PT. Tri Ratna Diesel Lamongan is advised to conduct a review process of the improvement recommendations that have been given and adjust them to the situation and condition of the company. The review process can be carried out to adjust to each department’s views in PT. Tri Ratna Diesel.

Abstract

This community service activity is expected to be able to make a real contribution to solving problems that exist in the community, as well as bring the roles and functions of universities closer to the community. Community Service aimed to build an Electrocoagulation Model Using Aluminum Electrodes 20 cm apart at a voltage of 20 Volts, a current of 10 Ampere system back with a contact time of 60 minutes. The Community Service method was through organizing activities and dividing work groups so that all work was evenly distributed. The results of Community Service activities were in the form of an Electrocoagulation Model Building Using Aluminum Electrodes 20 cm apart at a voltage of 20 Volts, a current of 10 Ampere Batch System with a contact time of 60 minutes, the connection of treated wastewater to the Electrocoagulation Model to the sewerage (effluent) and understanding of the operation, performance, maintenance and importance of utilizing wastewater treatment products containing Lead (Pb) for filling fish ponds and watering gardens. It was recommended that the Electrocoagulation Model Using 20 cm Aluminum Electrodes with 20 Volts and a strong current of 10 Ampere used with a contact time of 60 minutes, the power source must be turned off when the electrocoagulation reactor is not in use and the treated water can be used to gardens, yards, and fish pond.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kulit jeruk nipis tidak banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sehingga terbuang menjadi sampah. Padahal kulit jeruk nipis masih memiliki nilai guna yaitu diantaranya sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh pemanfaatan sampah kulit jeruk nipis sebagai bahan tambahan sabun padat terhadap karakteristik fisik sabun, kadar air sabun dan daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode: Metode dalam penelitian ini yakni berjenis penelitian true experiment dengan menggunakan bentuk Posttest Only Control Group Design. Terdapat empat kelompok perlakuan sampel ialah konsentrasi ekstrak kulit jeruk nipis 0%, 25%, 50% dan 75% dengan enam replikasi pada tiap kelompok sampel. Hasil uji dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis dan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil: Hasil karakteristik fisik masing-masing perlakuan sabun memiliki warna putih, kuning muda, dan kuning tua. Pada semua perlakuan sabun berbentuk padat dan aroma khas jeruk nipis. Rata-rata kadar air pada masing-masing perlakuan sabun 9,13%, 11,19%, 11,95%, dan 14,87%. Terdapat pengaruh penambahan ekstrak kulit jeruk nipis terhadap kadar air sabun. Rata-rata daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dari masing-masing perlakuan sabun padat 1,9 mm, 2,7 mm, 3,0 mm, dan 4,6 mm. Terdapat pengaruh penambahan ekstrak kulit jeruk nipis terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh pemanfaatan sampah kulit jeruk nipis sebagai bahan tambahan sabun padat terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

PT. Perak Polana Alomampa Sumenep is an LPG filling industry that has ethyl mercaptan content and when inhaled for a long time can irritate the respiratory tract. The results of interviews with 11 operators found that 73% of operators experienced respiratory problems during work, while 27% of other workers had never experienced respiratory problems. The purpose of this study is to determine the relation between behavior of the using respiratory protective equipment with respiratory tract disorders in LPG charging operators. This research used analytical observational method with cross sectional approach. The population in the study was 17 workers with a sample of 16 workers taken through simple random sampling techniques. The data obtained was analyzed using Fisher’s exact test. The results showed that workers had good behavior towards the use of knowledge based respiratory protective equipment (81%), attitude (75%), and action (56%). The results of the analysis showed relation between the actions (p value = 0.034) of the use respiratory protective equipment with respiratory tract disorders, but there was no relation between knowledge (p value = 0.509), attitude (p value = 0,245), and behavior (p value = 0,245) of the use respiratory protective equipment with respiratory tract disorders. The conclusion in this study is that there is no relation between behavior of the use respiratory protective equipment with respiratory tract disorders. It is recommended for industry managers to replace chemical cartridge type respiratory protective equipment and increase supervision of workers in the use of PPE.Keywords: worker behavior; respiratory protective equipment; respiratory disorders ABSTRAK PT. Hasil wawancara dengan 11 operator didapatkan bahwa 73% operator mengalami gangguan saluran pernapasan selama bekerja, sedangkan 27% pekerja lainnya belum pernah mengalami gangguan saluran pernapasan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pekerja memiliki perilaku yang baik terhadap penggunaan alat pelindung pernapasan berdasarkan pengetahuan (81%), sikap (75%), dan tindakan (56%). Hasil analisis menunjukkan ada hubungan antara tindakan (p value = 0,034) penggunaan alat pelindung pernapasan dengan gangguan saluran pernapasan, namun tidak ada hubungan pengetahuan (p value = 0,509), sikap (p value = 0,245), dan perilaku (p value = 0,245) penggunaan alat pelindung pernapasan dengan gangguan saluran pernapasan. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah tidak ada hubungan antara perilaku penggunaan alat pelindung pernapasan dengan gangguan saluran pernapasan. Abstract

Based on the preliminary survey, workers perform their work in various postures, namely in a standing position, using their hands, and lifting weights. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of work posture, age, length of work, and years of service on musculoskeletal complaints in plywood makers in the UD Repair Section. Tunas Subur, Pacitan. This study used an analytic observational method with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were female workers with a sample size of 103 people. Data was collected by filling out a questionnaire using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) sheet and the Ovako Working Analysis System (OWAS) sheet. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that the most work postures (47.6%) were in the medium category, most of the workers were 35 years old (51.5%) with 8 hours of work (100%), the most working period was >2 years (71 ,8%), and most musculoskeletal complaints in the low category (51.5). There was a significant correlation between work posture (p = 0.00), age (p = 0.00), years of service (p = 0.00) and musculoskeletal complaints. In the category of length of work there is no significant correlation with musculoskeletal complaints. Musculoskeletal complaints can endanger the health of workers which can hinder work productivity, but can be minimized by stretching before work, and increasing knowledge about K3 especially ergonomics.Keywords: work posture; worker criteria; musculoskeletal complaintsABSTRAK Berdasarkan survei pendahuluan, pekerja melakukan pekerjaannya dalam postur yang bervariasi, yaitu dengan posisi berdiri, menggunakan tangan, dan mengangkat beban. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh postur kerja, umur, lama kerja, dan masa kerja terhadap keluhan muskuloskelatal pada pekerja pembuat triplek Bagian Repair UD. Tunas Subur, Pacitan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pekerja perempuan dengan ukuran sampel 103 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner dengan menggunakan lembar Nordic Body Map (NBM) dan lembar Ovako Working Analysis System (OWAS). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa postur kerja terbanyak (47,6%) adalah dalam kategori sedang, sebagian besar pekerja berumur ≤35 tahun (51,5%) dengan lama kerja 8 jam (100%), masa kerja terbanyak adalah >2 tahun (71,8%), dan keluhan muskuloskeletal terbanyak pada kategori rendah (51,5). Terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara postur kerja (p = 0,00), umur (p = 0,00), masa kerja (p = 0,00) dengan keluhan muskuloskeletal. Pada kategori lama kerja tidak terdapat korelasi yang signifikan terhadap keluhan muskuloskeletal. Keluhan muskuloskeletal dapat membahayakan kesehatan pekerja yang dapat menghambat produktifitas pekerjaan, namun dapat diminimalisir dengan melakukan peregangan sebelum bekerja, dan peningkatan pengetahuan tentang K3 khususnya ergonomi.Kata kunci: postur kerja; kriteria pekerja; keluhan muskuloskeletal
