Abstract

General Background: The online transportation industry is becoming increasingly competitive, necessitating a deeper understanding of factors that affect workforce sustainability. Specific Background: Within algorithm-driven gig platforms, driver-partners operate under flexible yet demanding conditions, influencing their performance and well-being. Knowledge Gap: Despite the growing literature on digital labor, limited research has examined how individual factors like competence, workload, and incentives impact job satisfaction and performance in such decentralized systems. Aims: This study investigates the effects of competence, workload, and incentives on job satisfaction and how these in turn influence the performance of driver-partners in an online food delivery platform. Results: Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS and data from 100 respondents, findings reveal that only workload significantly affects job satisfaction. Competence and incentives showed no significant relationship, nor did job satisfaction or the examined factors significantly impact performance. Novelty: The study challenges traditional assumptions by showing that in platform-based work environments, personal variables may not directly drive performance outcomes.Implications: These results suggest a shift in managerial focus—from individual optimization to systemic interventions—better suited for digital labor ecosystems governed by algorithms and flexible task structures. Highlights: Only workload significantly influences job satisfaction. Competence and incentives do not directly impact satisfaction or performance. System-level strategies are more effective than personal improvements. Keywords: Job Satisfaction, Driver Performance, Online Food Delivery, Workload Impact, Digital Labor

Background: In the competitive energy drink market, understanding consumer behavior is vital for sustaining brand performance. Kratingdaeng, a prominent brand in this sector, faces growing pressure to optimize marketing elements that drive consumer loyalty. Specific Background: Prior studies have explored isolated effects of price or product quality, yet comprehensive assessments integrating multiple marketing variables remain limited. Knowledge Gap: There is a lack of integrated empirical analysis on how price, product quality, innovation, and packaging design collectively affect both initial purchase decisions and repurchase behavior, especially in the Indonesian urban context. Aim: This study investigates the simultaneous effects of price, product quality, product innovation, and packaging design on purchase and repurchase decisions among Kratingdaeng consumers in Surabaya. Results: Using Structural Equation Modeling with AMOS 30 on data from 110 purposively sampled respondents, all four variables showed significant positive impacts on both purchase and repurchase decisions, with price and packaging design being the most influential. Abstract

(General Background) The increasing competition in Indonesia’s retail sector highlights the critical role of service quality in influencing consumer purchasing behavior. (Specific Background) Faiz Plastic Store Sidoarjo, a retailer of household and packaging products, has experienced a decline in sales performance, allegedly due to deteriorating service quality that affects consumer retention. (Knowledge Gap) Previous studies have confirmed the impact of service quality on purchasing behavior, yet empirical evidence regarding its structural influence on purchase decisions, repeat purchases, and customer loyalty in small-scale retail settings remains limited. (Aims) This study aims to analyze the causal relationship between service quality (Servqual), purchase decisions, repeat purchases, and customer loyalty using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). (Results) Findings reveal that service quality significantly influences purchase decisions, but purchase decisions do not significantly affect repeat purchases, while repeat purchases have a strong positive effect on customer loyalty. (Novelty) The study develops a structural model that clarifies the indirect mechanism linking Servqual dimensions to loyalty through behavioral intentions. (Implications) The results emphasize that maintaining high service quality should be complemented with loyalty programs, digital engagement, and online ordering systems to ensure customer retention and business sustainability. Highlights:  Service quality significantly shapes initial purchasing behavior. Repeat purchases serve as the main driver of customer loyalty. Loyalty programs and digital engagement enhance long-term retention. Keywords: Servqual, Purchase Decision, Repeat Purchase, Customer Loyalty, Retail Service Quality

Abstract

General Background: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a critical role in economic stability, requiring strategies to sustain customer loyalty in competitive markets. Specific Background: The salted egg SME industry faces declining sales, operational inconsistencies, and challenges in maintaining product quality and perceived value, which affect consumer behavior. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have not comprehensively integrated product quality, customer experience, and perceived value into a sequential behavioral model linking purchase intention, satisfaction, repeat purchase, and customer loyalty. Aims: This study aims to analyze the relationships among product quality, customer experience, and perceived value on purchase intention, satisfaction, repeat purchases, and customer loyalty using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results: The findings indicate that perceived value and product quality significantly and positively affect purchase intention, while customer experience shows a positive but insignificant relationship. Purchase intention significantly influences satisfaction, which subsequently drives repeat purchases, and repeat purchases significantly lead to customer loyalty. Novelty: This study proposes a hierarchical causal model that explains customer loyalty formation through sequential behavioral stages within salted egg SMEs. Implications: The results provide a strategic basis for SMEs to prioritize product quality and perceived value to strengthen sustainable customer loyalty and guide future research in developing more comprehensive behavioral models. Highlights: Value perception shows the strongest contribution in shaping early-stage consumer decisions. Abstract

General Background The food and beverage industry is experiencing rapid expansion, intensifying competition and necessitating a deeper understanding of consumer behavior in culinary markets. Specific Background This study examines how the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion) and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) relate to purchase intention, purchase decision, repurchase, and customer loyalty within a single integrated framework. Knowledge Gap Prior studies present inconsistent findings and often analyze relationships partially, with limited attention to the sequential process from purchase intention to loyalty. Aims This research aims to analyze the simultaneous relationships among marketing mix variables and e-WOM toward consumer behavioral stages culminating in loyalty. Results The findings indicate that price, promotion, and e-WOM significantly and positively relate to purchase intention, while product and place do not show significant relationships. Purchase intention significantly relates to purchase decisions, which subsequently relate to repurchase behavior and ultimately to customer loyalty. Novelty This study proposes an integrated structural model linking marketing mix and e-WOM to a full behavioral pathway from intention to loyalty using Structural Equation Modeling. Implications The results highlight the central role of pricing strategy, promotional activities, and online reviews in shaping consumer behavior and sustaining long-term loyalty in the culinary sector. Highlights: Significant drivers of purchase intention originate from pricing, promotional activities, and online reviews. Consumer behavior progresses sequentially from intention to decision, then repeat transactions and retention. Product attributes and distribution aspects show limited contribution within the modeled relationships. Keywords: Consumer Behavior, E-WOM, Marketing Mix
