Abstract

The needs analysis was carried out with the aim of finding out the learning needs and problems experienced by students and as a guide for solving the problems faced, then the needs analysis research was carried out. This needs analysis was carried out using qualitative methods. This analysis was carried out by conducting interviews with students and teachers. The instruments used in this research were student response questionnaires and interviews. The results of the needs analysis carried out show that the learning process carried out has not used learning modules to maximize students' critical thinking abilities. The ongoing learning process is still dominated by teachers (teacher-oriented learning), so that students who are expected to be active and interactive have not been achieved. In the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach, the components used can help students improve their critical thinking skills. In implementing the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model, it will be more optimal if you use learning modules as open materials.

Abstract

The purpose of carrying out this needs analysis is to help teachers or educators make it easier to present the learning process and make it easier for students to understand the material being studied. This research refers to a qualitative research approach. The type of research carried out is descriptive. The subject of this research is the physics subject teacher at SMP Negeri 5 Lubuklinggau. After conducting a needs analysis, it was concluded that teaching materials were needed that could make it easy for students to understand the material being studied. It was concluded that teaching materials were needed that could make it easier for students to understand the material being studied. The solution for these teaching materials is teaching materials based on the discovery learning model.

Abstract

Analysis of student responses to the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model is expected to be able to see how much students respond to the CTL model. The analysis of the response is carried out to understand students' learning and learning challenges and use it as a guide for problem solving. This research aims to analyze the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) method in science learning, especially science. The research method used is a qualitative approach by conducting teacher interviews and the teacher used in this research is a student response questionnaire for conducting interviews. The results of the research show that the conventional method used by teachers currently makes people feel bored because it only focuses on the teacher without any interaction between teachers and students who make students rarely understand the material as a whole which results in low student learning outcomes.The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach can help students' involvement and understanding of the material. The results of student responses to the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model with an average percentage of 83.6 with 20 students responding and the total number of students obtained was 836 with a maximum score of 50. With student involvement in the learning process through the model In this CTL learning, students will better understand the material being taught so that it can improve student learning outcomes
