Abstract

The wireless solar power transfer (WSPT) system is impacted by solar radiation that arrives on the surface of the solar module. The objective of the research is to evaluate the performance of the WSPT system under a shadowing situation. The method of this research is that the solar module and WSPT are modeled and simulated using MATLAB SIMULINK. Three solar modules with different degrees of solar irradiation are subjected to it. The research results indicate that to meet the system frequency of 50 Hz and match the frequency of both coils, the inductance of the transmitter and receiver coils, which is 0.1689 H, should be connected in parallel to a capacitor of 60 µF. It shows that the three solar modules connected in series have an output voltage of 177 V. It shows that the WSPT system and solar modules' performance are impacted by the shadowing situation. Higher shadowing levels will lessen the amount of sunlight that reaches the solar modules' surface. It implies that both the WSPT system's performance and that of the solar modules will decline concurrently.

Abstract

Pests are a major challenge for rice farmers because they can reduce the quality of the harvest. Manual pest control which is still widely used tends to be less effective and requires large costs and energy. With the advancement of technology, there is a more effective innovative solution, namely Node MCU-based devices that utilize renewable energy, such as solar cells. This device is able to repel pests automatically and is environmentally friendly, making it a more modern and sustainable alternative. This study aims to design a Node MCU-based rice pest repellent system with energy from solar cells. The results of this study showed that the tool ran smoothly, indicated by the absence of errors when turning on the tool, and had 2 failures during the command execution process from 20 tool trials, therefore the percentage of resistance to malfunction of 90% was obtained from the number of failed trials multiplied by 100, and the results multiplied by the total number of trials. It can be concluded that the tool functioned normally during the trial in the rice field area.

Abstract

The advancement of telemedicine and robotic surgery has led to increased interest in haptic feedback systems, which enhance the surgeon's ability to perform remote procedures. Haptic technology provides tactile sensations, allowing surgeons to feel the instruments' interactions with tissues, thus improving precision and control during surgery. This research aims to implement haptic feedback in robotic surgical systems, evaluating its impact on surgical performance and user experience during remote operations. The study seeks to determine whether incorporating haptic feedback can enhance the effectiveness and safety of robotic-assisted surgeries. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining hardware development of a robotic surgical system with haptic feedback integration. Surgeons participated in controlled experiments to perform simulated surgical tasks with and without haptic feedback. Performance metrics, including task completion time, accuracy, and user satisfaction, were assessed. The implementation of haptic feedback resulted in a 30% reduction in task completion time and a 25% improvement in accuracy compared to non-haptic conditions. Surgeons reported higher satisfaction levels and increased confidence in performing procedures with the haptic-enabled system. The findings indicate that integrating haptic feedback into robotic surgical systems significantly enhances surgical performance and user experience. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge in robotic surgery, demonstrating the potential of haptic technology to improve outcomes in remote surgical procedures.
