Abstract

Penelitian inimembahas pemanfaatan serat batang pinang raja (Roystonea Regia) sebagai spesimen peredam suara. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui koofisien absorbsi suara menggunakan inpedence tube dan laju temperatur menggunakan DTA. Komposisi Material yang digunakan sebgai spesimen peredam suara yaitu 50% serat batang pinang raja dengan mesh 32, poli isosianat 22,23 %, gypsum 16,67 % dan poliol 11.11 %. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan nilai absorbsi suara sebesar 0,6016 pada frekuensi 1500Hz. Hasil pengujian DTA dengan heating speed 10o C/menit diperoleh bahwa material peredam suara mulai terbakar pada temperatur 475oCdengan waktu 45,5 menit. Setelah dilakukan pengujian dengan variasi komposisi dan meshing diperoleh nilai koefisien absorbsi suara terbesar pada komposisi yang telah diuji, sehingga layak untuk dijadikan sebagai material peredam suara. Abstract

This study aims to identify the most optimal material composition in achieving the best combination of hardness and wear. The experimental method was conducted using a special test bed designed to test the mechanical properties of various material compositions. The material specimens used were weighed before and after the test to calculate the wear rate by observing the change in specimen mass. The results showed that the 50:50 material composition performed significantly better than the 60:40 composition in terms of hardness and wear properties. These findings suggest that the 50:50 composition may be a superior choice in various applications where a combination of strength and wear resistance is required, such as in the manufacturing industry, materials engineering, or the automotive sector. This research provides valuable insights into material selection that can improve the performance and durability of the final product.

Abstract

This research focuses on the wear analysis of heavy vehicle gearbox systems, with particular emphasis on the case study of operational load fluctuations as a factor influencing wear rates. Heavy vehicles play a central role in various industries, and gearboxes are key components that affect operational performance and reliability. In this study, we collected operational data from various heavy vehicles operating under various conditions and environments. Through rigorous statistical analysis, we were able to identify a significant relationship between operational load fluctuations and gearbox wear rates. The results indicate that an increase in operational load fluctuations can proportionally increase the wear rate. These results have important implications in the development of smarter and more efficient maintenance strategies for heavy vehicles, which can reduce unexpected maintenance costs and increase gearbox service life. In addition, this study also confirmed that the basic assumptions in regression analysis, such as normality of residuals, homoscedasticity, and independence of residuals, were well met. This validates the results of the regression analysis and provides a solid basis for decision-making in the context of heavy vehicle maintenance. Recommendations for further research development include more detailed data collection, the use of more advanced analysis methods, and the application of sensor and IoT technologies for real-time monitoring. With continued research in this area, we can advance our understanding of wear on heavy vehicle gearboxes and support the development of smarter maintenance strategies in the heavy transportation industry.

Abstract

Desa Paya Geli merupakan sebuah desa yang memiliki kepala keluarga 4.923 dengan jumlah penduduk 21.265 jiwa pada tahun 2018. Desa ini terletak di kecamatan Sunggal Kabupaten Deli Serdang dan memiliki populasi ternak yang cukup tinggi yaitu 278 ekor kambing. Permasalahan yang sedang dialami Mitra meliputi masalah dari segi Produksi dan Pemasaran, diantaranya adalah a) Kebersihan kandang kambing yang usang membuat kotoran kambing berserakan, b) Pemerasan susu kambing yang masih manual dengan menggunakan tangan mengakibatkan kebersihan pada susu hasil perasan kurang higienis, c) Varian rasa susunya masih original, d) Tampilan susu dalam kemasan plastik masih terlihat biasa dan belum modern, e) Pengemasan yang kurang menarik masih menggunakan kantong plastik untuk tempat susu, f) Tidak adanya promosi yang dilakukan Mitra, sehingga publik tidak mengetahui akan keberadaan susu Kambing Etawa. Solusi dari permasalahan adalah dengan memberikan alat pemerah puting susu, memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pembuatan varian rasa susu kambing etawa dengan menambahkan rasa buah, dan penjualan online menggunakan beberapa platform e-comerce yang ada di Indonesia, serta membantu dalam pengurusan perizinan produk susu kambing etawa.

Abstract

Piping is a tool that functions to drain fluid from one place to another. The problem at Factory X is the failure of the boiler pipe. Pipe failures that occur are known by indications of leaks in the boiler. The initial process of a failure in an ordinary pipe is characterized by corrosion. The problem of corrosion in boilers is usually caused by feed water or feed water which still contains high oxygen levels. The purpose of the research is to determine the microstructure of the boiler pipe after experiencing the combustion process in the combustion chamber. This research method is an analysis of the chemical composition of boiler pipe material, Visual / Macro and Micro Testing. From the results of the inspection, observation, it can be concluded, the cause of pipe damage on the outside of the fire side caused by erosion corrosion is classified as very severe because it is beyond the optimum thickness of the pipe. Specimen A which is a material that has not received heat treatment has a microstructure, where the condition of the fearlite area is greater than specimen B with heat treatment.

Abstract

Boilers operate at high pressure and high temperature. When the life of the boiler pipe reaches its limit, failure will occur. High temperatures on the outside of the pipe, high pressure inside, and also flames that have been contaminated with corrosive residues for a long amount of time will cause pipe failure. The purpose of the study was to identify the hardness value of boiler pipes after experiencing the heating process and without heating on ASTM A179 pipes. The research method carried out is starting from the preparation of tools and materials, cutting small materials (making specimens), hardness testing, data processing, data analysis and drawing conclusions. The research results are as follows: 1) Obtained average hardness values on standard ASTM A179 pipes in boilers with each brinell, Rockwell, and Vickerss test of 63.67 HRB, 45.20 HRC, and 85.20 HV. 2). The average hardness value of ASTM A179 pipes affected by boiler combustion chamber temperature with each brinell, Rockwell, and Vickerss test is 76 HRB, 50.40 HRC, and 202.30 HV. 3) The value of hardness test results on standard ASTM A179 pipes comparing with after heating has increased hardness in each brinell test by 63.67: 76 HRB, Rockwell by 24.20: 50.40 HRC, and Vickerss of 85.20: 202.30 HV.

Abstract

Villages are often a source of abundance of raw materials such as chilies, but the lack of knowledge and skills in processing them into value-added products hinders the economic potential they can achieve. This service research aims to empower village communities through training in making quality chili sauce. The service method applied is Community Based Research (CBR) with a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) approach. The findings show that this training was successful in increasing the village community's income through increasing the added value of products and wider market access. Apart from that, training participants also experience increased skills in food processing and build stronger community networks. The discussion analysis links research findings with previous research and relevant theories regarding rural economic empowerment. In conclusion, training in making chili sauce in villages has great potential to improve economic and social welfare at the village level, by paying attention to economic, social and environmental aspects holistically.

Abstract

Secara ekonomi, keberadaan ternak domba dapat memberikan arti tersendiri bagi para peternak. Selain bisa meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan peternak, juga mampu meningkatkan populasi ternak domba. Program Pengabdian Masyarakat memilih salah satu mitra yang mengelola bidang peternakan domba yaitu Bapak Sanimun dengan Alamat di Desa Medan Sinembah, Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa sejak tahun 2005 sampai sekarang. Jumlah domba yang dikelola mitra sebelumnya hanya sepasang yang kemudian berkembang dan pada akhirnya membutuhkan penambahan tenaga kerja berjumlah 3 orang tenaga kerja yang merupakan warga sekitar. Selama ini peternak menggunakan Metode variasi terkadang dilakukan dikandangkan dan pada waktu tertentu dilepas dilokasi diikat pada pohon. Metode pembuatannya dimulai dari pecacahan rumput ilalang, pencampuran molase, EM4 dan air. Kemudian pencampuran rumput ilalang dengan bahan campuran (molase EM4 dan air) Berdasarkan hasil pelatihan ini terdapat beberapa peningkatan, antara lain : 1. Proses pembuatan silase dari rumput ilalang berhasil dengan baik sesuai dengan yang diharapkan dengan ciri-ciri silase dari wangi dan warna juga tekstur sesuai dengan silase yang baik. 2. Silase merupakan pakan yang telah diawetkan yang diproses dari bahan baku berupa rumput ilalang, dengan jumlah kadar/kandungan air pada tingkat tertentu, dan dapat dipergunakan untuk memenuhi pakan ternak bila diperlukan dalam hal ini dapat disebut sebagai stok.

Abstract

This research focuses on the design of a solar energy demonstrator with a 35-degree tilted panel configuration, as well as testing its performance in orientation towards sunrise and sunset in real environmental conditions. The evaluation was conducted to analyze the effect of tilt angle and orientation on the efficiency of the solar panel system. The tests were conducted for five days (October 07-12) between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The maximum power was achieved at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., respectively. Maximum power was achieved from 10:00 to 12:00, with a peak of 70 watts on October 07, indicating optimal conditions for sunlight absorption. In contrast, the power generated in the morning (08.00-09.00) and afternoon (15.00-16.00) was lower, ranging from 10-30 watts, due to lower solar intensity. In terms of efficiency, the highest peak reached 50% at 10:00 to 12:00 on October 07, while in the morning and afternoon, the efficiency decreased to 10-20%. The difference between days was influenced by weather conditions, with October 07 and 08 having higher power and efficiency. This research shows the importance of tilt angle, orientation, time of day, and weather conditions in determining the optimal performance of solar panels.

Abstract

The global energy crisis has driven efforts to find alternative fuels that are efficient and environmentally friendly. One focus is testing the performance of diesel engines against variations in fuel. This study aims to analyse the effect of diesel fuel types, including Bio Solar, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex, with cetane numbers of 48, 51, and 53, respectively, on diesel engine performance in terms of power, torque and specific fuel consumption parameters at various levels of electrical load. The method used is an experiment involving a graded electrical load test ranging from 300 to 1500 Watts. Data were collected under stationary conditions at 1500 rpm using instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, tachometers, and fuel burettes. The results show that Pertamina Dex produces the highest power at peak load due to its high cetane number, while Bio Solar provides the highest torque due to a longer combustion delay. The highest specific fuel consumption occurs in Pertamina Dex at low loads, while Bio Solar is more efficient at low load conditions.
