Abstract

Kurangnya media sosialisasi yang komunikatif dan dinamis, yang dapat digunakan untuk menyampaikan informasi akademik satya wacana (SIASAT), sehingga mahasiswa kesulitan dalam mendapatkan informasi dengan cepat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media sosialisasi sistem informasi akademik satya wacana berbasis video infografis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Tahapan penelitian ini menggunakan strategi linear yang meliputi empat tahapan yaitu pengumpulan data, analisis data, perancangan media, dan pengujian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian adalah pada tahap pengujian didapatkan bahwa video infografis sosialisasi SIASAT memiliki komponen konten cukup lengkap dan alurnya cukup jelas. Desain dan pewarnaan tiap komponen sudah baik dan menarik. Selain itu penggunaan audio untuk backsound sudah tepat sehingga mendukung pengisi suara menjadi cukup jelas dan enak didengar. Pengujian kepada mahasiswa diperoleh hasil bahwa video infografis sosialisasi SIASAT mudah dimengerti dan bermanfaat sehingga mahasiswa lebih paham dalam menggunakan SIASAT, serta pengunaan ilustrasi dan pengisi suara tidak membosankan untuk dinikmati sampai video selesai ditayangkan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media sosialisasi sistem informasi akademik satya wacana berbasis video infografis layak dan dapat digunakan untuk menyampaikan informasi akademik satya wacana (SIASAT).

Abstract

This study discusses the design of a promotional video for Tinctori by implementing marketing 5.0 to enhance the effectiveness of marketing sustainable products. Tinctori is a fashion company that utilizes natural dyes, supporting the concept of sustainable fashion and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, its current promotional strategy has not been optimal in capturing the attention of its target audience, particularly the upper-middle-class consumers who are environmentally conscious. The findings indicate that applying cinematography in promotional videos can enhance visual appeal, audience engagement, and understanding of Tinctori’s sustainability values. The designed video showcases the natural dyeing process with artistic, transparent, and emotional visuals, strengthening brand identity and increasing consumer purchase interest. Evaluations from videography experts and the target audience confirm that the video effectively conveys the sustainability message and raises awareness of environmentally friendly fashion.

Abstract

Ageisme merujuk pada diskriminasi atau prasangka yang dialami individu berdasarkan usia mereka, terutama terhadap lansia. Studi ini menganalisis bagaimana film An Old Lady (2019) menggambarkan diskriminasi terhadap perempuan lanjut usia dengan menggunakan analisis framing dari Robert N. Entman. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi stereotip, prasangka, dan diskriminasi yang dialami oleh lansia, terutama dalam kasus kekerasan seksual. Metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis framing digunakan untuk memahami bagaimana film ini membingkai masalah diskriminasi terhadap lansia. Tokoh utama film, Hyo-jeong, mengalami pengabaian dari masyarakat, sistem hukum, dan institusi kesehatan, yang mencerminkan kenyataan sosial di mana korban lanjut usia sering diabaikan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usia memengaruhi perlakuan terhadap korban kekerasan seksual, dengan lansia menghadapi kesulitan lebih besar dalam mencari keadilan. Penelitian ini ingin meningkatan kesadaran publik, reformasi hukum, dan dukungan sosial untuk mengurangi diskriminasi berbasis usia dan memastikan hak yang setara bagi lansia.

Abstract

Stereotypes against Asians emerge and develop as a form of propaganda for Americans. Cho Chang, a character from the Harry Potter film series, exemplifies negative stereotypes of Asian women. Accordingly, this study aims to identify which stereotypes of Asian women correspond to the existing reality. Using Barthes’ semiotic theory, this study employed qualitative analysis. The findings indicate stereotypes that fit the audience’s interpretation, i.e., Asian women are exotic and charming, Asians are academically intelligent, and Asian women easily change their partners. Meanwhile, stereotypes that do not fit with the audience’s interpretations include: Asians are clumsy, weird, and disliked by Americans, and the “Dragon Lady” image of Asian women who is cunning, sadistic, and untrustworthy.

Abstract

This study discusses the design of a socialization video entitled Menstrual Health and Hygiene with motion graphic techniques. This is based on the importance of a woman to maintain personal hygiene, especially during menstruation and the lack of socialization media that discusses the maintenance of cleanliness and health of women's external reproductive organs, especially during menstruation. Therefore, a media outreach was designed in the form of video socialization with motion graphic techniques to help socialize how to maintain the cleanliness and health of women's external reproductive organs, especially during menstruation effectively and attractively. The method used is a mixed method for data collection and quantitative testing of product results. In this design, the process of making socialization media, from the concept design to the final result, is in the form of video socialization with motion graphic techniques. The results achieved from this research were in the form of a socialization video entitled Menstrual Health and Hygiene, able to convey information about hygiene and health of female external reproductive organs, especially during menstruation and can be used as a media for Menstrual Health and Hygiene socialization.

Abstract

Body shaming is known as the action of expressing humiliation by commenting, mocking, or criticizing about another individual’s body shape or size. This act is often considered a joke for many people, especially among teenagers, without realizing that it can cause mental problems for victims who receive this body shaming treatment. This form of bullying can cause the victim to lack confidence, low self-esteem and even suicide. Based on the background of the problems explained, creating an audio visual in the form of short film is judged as fit to be a relevant socialization media in this modern society. This research is using qualitative methodology, collecting datas by interviewing a number of sources and target audiences. Based on the results of data collection, this short film was designed with an emphasis on one of the psychological impacts experienced by the victim which is low self-esteem. As a result, this short film has presented a visualization that can convey messages about the psychological impact that occurs on victims of body shaming to teenage girls.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian film industry experienced a significant decline in both the number of productions and revenue. One of the main contributing factors was the shift of audience behaviors, as viewers turned to video on -demand services, such as Netflix, which making them more selective and critical of audiovisual contents. Consequently, the competition to attract audience interest become more challenging and trailer plays a crucial role for influencing audience decisions to watch a film or series. In the trailer for the first season of Bridgerton, which incorporated a specific discourse on gender stereotyping that resonates with social issues nowadays, contributing to the series’ record-breaking viewership hours. Based on this phenomenon, this study aims to analyse the influence of promotion media, which is trailer containing particular discourses, in attracting audience interest to watch the series. This research will apply a qualitative method, utilizing data collection techniques, which are interviews and observations. The data obtained will be analyzed using the framing analysis approach developed by William Gamson and Andre Modigliani to uncover the meanings behind scenes in the trailer related to gender stereotyping discourse.

Abstract

Indonesian goverment has established prohibiting policy direct visualization of cigarette products in advertisments, as a result cigarette companies must convey their advertisements implicitly, as exemplified in LA Lights commercial titled, “Kenali Luar Dalam #MikirDulu”. This study aims to analyze the meaning behind the LA Lights advertisement using qualitative research method, Harold Lasswell’s communication theory, and semiotic analysis theories from Saussure and Barthes. Through message analysis (‘what if’), true meaning of both visual an verbal signs within the advertisement revealed. The research subjects consist of young adults aged 21-25 who are either university students or part-time employee, have smoking habit, and technologically adaptive. In conclusion, the fundamental meaning of this advertisement is that the LA Lights “Kenali Luar Dalam #MikirDulu” commercial seeks to encourage audiences not only to percieve the advertisement as a promotional strategy but also to cultivate critical and wise thinking in understanding various aspects of daily life.

Abstract

Harma Digital, a company focusing on the Business-to-Business (B2B) market, recognized the urgent need for an efficient information system to facilitate service offerings online. To enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of sales, and to attract potential business partners, Harma Digital required a website platform capable of communicating its services clearly and in detail. This research aims to optimize the Harma Digital website through UI/UX design by adopting the Design Thinking methodology. This process began by gathering deep insights through interviews, a qualitative approach, to accurately reflect the specific needs of Harma Digital and its prospective clients. The results of these interviews were used to identify the main challenges and form the conceptual basis for the design. The developed UI/UX design was then refined through a series of usability tests. This testing ensured that the resulting platform was not only aesthetic but also highly functional and intuitive for B2B users. The final results indicate that the application of the Design Thinking approach successfully optimized Harma Digital's B2B website significantly. The new website improves the overall user experience and directly fosters potential partnerships and sales.

Abstract

Oemah Djari adalah jenis usaha yang bergerak di sektor akomodasi dan restoran namun mengalami kendala pada saat pandemi covid-19 yang masih berlangsung, sehingga berdampak pada penyebaran informasi secara konvensional. Menurut data dari badan pusat statistik menyebutkan perusahaan yang bergerak pada bidang akomodasi dan restoran mengalami kenaikan 7,10 persen saat pandemi dalam menggunakan teknologi dan internet. Oemah Djari membutuhkan sebuah media alternatif yang dapat diakses secara daring, salah satu media yang menjadi media alternatif adalah website. Fokus penelitian adalah merancang tampilan antar muka website dengan melihat kebutuhan pengguna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran dengan strategi pendekatan User centered design (UCD). Tahapan UCD yaitu understand context of use, specifying user requirements, design solution, evaluate against requirements. Data diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, kuesioner, observasi, studi literatur, internet, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian adalah perancangan antar muka website dengan pendekatan UCD dapat membantu menemukan solusi sesuai kebutuhan target pengguna. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa dengan pendekatan UCD website sudah berhasil membuat tampilan website secara informatif, komunikatif dan interaktif sesuai kebutuhan target pengguna.
