Abstract

Background: Academic anxiety is a common problem faced by students, especially in facing laboratory practical exams. This anxiety can affect students' performance in exams and potentially interfere with their academic results. Purpose: To describe the level of students' academic anxiety in laboratory practical exams. Method: Quantitative descriptive design and purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study consisted of 68 nursing students who faced a laboratory practical exam. Data collection was carried out using the second edition of the Cognitive Test Anxiety Scale (CTAS) questionnaire consisting of 24 statements regarding academic anxiety. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by calculating the frequency, percentage, and average score. Results: Most students had a moderate level of academic anxiety with an average score of 56.72. Further analysis revealed that this anxiety was more often experienced by students who entered college of their own accord. This academic anxiety was proven to affect student performance in the practical exam considering that the exam requires proper practical skills. Conclusion: Most respondents showed a moderate level of anxiety with an average score of 56.72, indicating that academic anxiety is a significant problem faced by students in higher education, especially in the nursing field. Suggestion: Further research can broaden its focus by exploring differences in academic anxiety levels in students from various majors or disciplines, as well as examining more specific factors that influence anxiety in practical exams.   Keywords: Academic Anxiety; Practical Exams; Students.   Pendahuluan: Kecemasan akademik adalah masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh mahasiswa, khususnya dalam menghadapi ujian praktik laboratorium. Kecemasan ini dapat memengaruhi kinerja mahasiswa dalam ujian dan berpotensi mengganggu hasil akademik mereka. Tujuan: Untuk menggambarkan tingkat kecemasan akademik mahasiswa dalam ujian praktik laboratorium. Metode: Desain deskriptif kuantitatif dan teknik sampling purposive. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 68 mahasiswa keperawatan yang sedang menghadapi ujian praktik laboratorium. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner Cognitive Test Anxiety Scale (CTAS) edisi kedua, terdiri dari 24 pernyataan mengenai kecemasan akademik. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menghitung frekuensi, persentase, dan skor rata-rata. Hasil: Sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki tingkat kecemasan akademik yang sedang dengan skor rata-rata 56.72. Analisis lebih lanjut mengungkapkan bahwa kecemasan ini lebih sering dialami oleh mahasiswa yang masuk kuliah atas kemauan sendiri. Kecemasan akademik ini terbukti berpengaruh terhadap performa mahasiswa dalam ujian praktik, mengingat ujian tersebut memerlukan keterampilan praktis yang presisi. Simpulan: Sebagian besar responden menunjukkan tingkat kecemasan yang sedang dengan skor rata-rata 56.72, mengindikasikan bahwa kecemasan akademik merupakan masalah signifikan yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam pendidikan tinggi, terutama di bidang keperawatan. Saran: Penelitian selanjutnya dapat memperluas fokusnya dengan mengeksplorasi perbedaan tingkat kecemasan akademik pada mahasiswa dari berbagai jurusan atau disiplin ilmu, serta mengkaji faktor-faktor yang lebih spesifik yang memengaruhi kecemasan pada ujian praktik.   Kata Kunci: Kecemasan Akademik; Mahasiswa; Ujian Praktik.

Abstract

College students are in early adulthood, a developmental stage vulnerable to psychological pressure, including social anxiety. One of the contributing factors to this condition is authoritarian parenting, which is typically characterized by strict control, lack of open communication, and high parental expectations. These traits can negatively affect an individual’s mental health. This study employed a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional and correlational approach. A total of 75 undergraduate nursing students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ) and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results revealed that 65.3% of the respondents experienced authoritarian parenting, and most reported moderate to severe levels of social anxiety. Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between authoritarian parenting and social anxiety among students (p = 0.001). Authoritarian parenting was positively correlated with social anxiety levels. The higher the authoritarian style in parenting, the higher the level of social anxiety experienced by the students. This study highlights the importance of balanced parenting approaches and emotional support to minimize the risk of social anxiety disorders among college students.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between permissive parenting style and bullying behavior among undergraduate nursing students at Muhammadiyah University of Sukabumi. University students experience significant social and psychosocial development, and inadequate internalization of parental values can lead to maladaptive behaviors such as bullying. This research employed a quantitative cross-sectional design with purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires on parenting style and bullying behavior and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed a significant relationship between permissive parenting style and bullying behavior (p=0.000, p<0.05). Students raised with a permissive parenting style were more likely to exhibit moderate levels of bullying behavior. These findings suggest that permissive parenting, which grants children excessive freedom with minimal supervision, can increase the likelihood of aggressive behaviors such as bullying. Efforts to strengthen parental involvement and guidance are essential to prevent bullying among university students.

Abstract

Anxiety is a common psychological response experienced by family members of patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The longer the duration of patient care, the greater the uncertainty and emotional burden that may be experienced by families. This study aims to determine the relationship between the length of patient hospitalization and the level of family anxiety in the ICU of RSUD Jampang Kulon. The research employed a quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected from family members of patients treated in the ICU through a total sampling technique, with a sample size of 34 respondents. The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) questionnaire was used to measure anxiety levels, and patient treatment duration was obtained from medical records. The results showed that most respondents experienced moderate to high levels of anxiety, with a tendency for increased anxiety corresponding to longer treatment durations. Statistical analysis using the Spearman Rank test indicated a significant relationship between the length of hospitalization and the level of family anxiety p-value = 0.001 (p-value < 0.05). The findings suggest that prolonged ICU care can elevate anxiety among family members, which may impact their psychological well-being and ability to support the patient. It is concluded that healthcare providers should consider implementing supportive interventions for families, especially when patient care in the ICU is extended, to help manage and reduce anxiety effectively.

Abstract

Workload and work stress among nurses, especially in the Emergency Room (ER), are crucial issues that affect the quality of health services. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurses’ workload and work stress in the ER of Jampang Kulon Regional General Hospital. A quantitative correlational research design was used with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 29 ER nurses, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using the NASA-TLX (Task Load Index) questionnaire to measure workload and a work stress questionnaire developed based on the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) standards. The results showed that 62.1% of nurses experienced a high workload, while 58.6% experienced moderate work stress. The Spearman rank test indicated a significant positive correlation between workload and work stress (p = 0.001; r = 0.642), meaning that an increase in workload is associated with an increase in work stress. This finding highlights the importance of workload management to reduce stress levels among nurses. Improving work scheduling, increasing staffing ratios, and providing regular stress management programs are recommended to enhance the nurses' well-being and service performance. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between workload and work stress among nurses in the ER of Jampang Kulon Hospital.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major health problem that requires effective management not only by the patient but also through the support and knowledge of the family. This study aims to determine the effect of health education on family knowledge in caring for patients with hypertension in the working area of Surade Public Health Center. This research used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population in this study consisted of 71 family members of hypertensive patients, selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a knowledge questionnaire administered before and after the health education intervention, which was conducted in a 45-minute session using verbal explanations, visual materials, and interactive discussions delivered by trained health educators. The results showed a substantial improvement in the level of family knowledge after the health education intervention. Before receiving education, the majority of respondents (88.7%) were categorized as having poor knowledge, with only 5.6% each in the good and fair categories. After the intervention, there was a significant shift: 28.2% of respondents were categorized as having good knowledge, 69% as fair, and only 2.8% remained in the poor category. These findings indicate that the health education intervention effectively improved the knowledge level of families in caring for patients with hypertension. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test further confirmed this improvement with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference in knowledge levels before and after the intervention. The study concludes that health education has a significant effect on increasing family knowledge in caring for patients with hypertension. Therefore, providing regular and structured health education is highly recommended to empower families in managing hypertension effectively.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Preoperative anxiety is a common emotional response experienced by patients before undergoing surgical procedures. One of the factors influencing anxiety levels is family support. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and preoperative anxiety levels among patients in the inpatient ward of Curug Cikaso RSUD Jampangkulon. This research employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The population included all preoperative patients hospitalized in Curug Cikaso ward from March 25 to April 5, 2025. A total sampling technique was used, with 32 respondents participating in the study. Research instruments consisted of a family support questionnaire and an anxiety level scale based on the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that most preoperative patients who received good family support experienced mild anxiety, while those without family support tended to experience moderate to severe anxiety. Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between family support and preoperative anxiety levels (p < 0.05).In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between family support and preoperative anxiety among patients. Therefore, it is recommended that hospitals involve families actively in the care process to help reduce patients' anxiety before surgery. Keywords: Family Support, Anxiety, Preoperative, Patients  ABSTRAK Kecemasan preoperasi merupakan respons emosional yang umum dialami pasien sebelum menjalani tindakan pembedahan. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi tingkat kecemasan adalah dukungan keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan tingkat kecemasan pasien preoperasi di ruang rawat inap Curug Cikaso RSUD Jampangkulon. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien preoperasi yang dirawat di ruang Curug Cikaso selama periode 25 Maret hingga 5 April 2025. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 32 orang. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner dukungan keluarga dan tingkat kecemasan berdasarkan skala Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pasien preoperasi yang mendapat dukungan keluarga baik mengalami kecemasan ringan, sedangkan pasien yang tidak mendapat dukungan keluarga cenderung mengalami kecemasan sedang hingga berat. Uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan keluarga dengan tingkat kecemasan pasien preoperasi (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kecemasan pasien preoperasi. Oleh karena itu, diharapkan pihak rumah sakit dapat melibatkan keluarga secara aktif dalam proses perawatan untuk menurunkan kecemasan pasien sebelum operasi. Kata Kunci: Dukungan Keluarga, Kecemasan, Preoperasi, Pasien.

Abstract

Sebagai mahluk sosial, manusia memiliki kebutuhan untuk berkomunikasi dengan lingkungan masyarakat di sekitarnya. Komunikasi yang terjadi diantara perawat dan pasien merupakan komunikasi yang komplek dan berlangsung intens jika dibandingkan dengan komunikasi antara pasien dengan petugas kesehatan lainnya. Komunikasi terapeutik merupakan hubungan interpersonal antara perawat dan klien, dalam hal ini perawat dan klien memperoleh pengalaman belajar bersama dalam rangka memperbaiki pengalaman emosional klien. Tidak hanya bagi pasien yang mengalami sakit secara fisik saja, tetapi pasien dengan gangguan mental juga memerlukan perawatan dengan pendekatan komunikasi yang baik yang dibangun antara perawat dengan pasien. Komunikasi terapeutik yang diambil disini hanya pada saat pengkajian dan implementasi asuhan keperawatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan terhadap perawat dan pasien yang berada di PSBL Phalamarta Kabupaten Sukabumi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan kepada seluruh perawat yang melaksanakan asuhan keperawatan terhadap pasien dengan dengan masalah waham. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu hasil rekaman percakapan antara Perawat dan Pasien. Dalam melakukan komunikasi terapeutik dengan pasien, para perawat di PSBL Phalamarta masih belum bisa menjadi pendengar yang baik, dan berusaha mengetahui kondisi pasien melalui komunikasi dengan memberi kesempatan kepada pasien untuk menjelaskan kondisinya dan mengajukan beberapa pertanyaan yang berkaitan.

Abstract

Kader Posyandu merupakan ujung tombak pelayanan kesehatan berbasis komunitas yang dituntut menguasai 25 kompetensi standar dalam melaksanakan tugasnya. Aplikasi i-Posyandu hadir sebagai inovasi digital yang diharapkan mampu mendukung transformasi layanan kesehatan di tingkat dasar. Tujuan: untuk menganalisis efektivitas pelatihan berbasis i-Posyandu terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kader Posyandu mengenai 25 kompetensi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tipar, Kota Sukabumi. Metode: Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuasi eksperimen menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 97 kader Posyandu aktif. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner dengan 30 butir pertanyaan mencakup aspek promotif, preventif, kuratif sederhana, dan administratif. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t-test berpasangan untuk melihat perbedaan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil: Nilai rata-rata pre-test kader sebesar 58,4% meningkat menjadi 82,9% pada post-test, dengan kenaikan 24,5%. Peningkatan terjadi konsisten di semua aspek kompetensi. Hasil uji t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor pre-test dan post-test (t = 20,46; p < 0,001). Saran: Pelatihan berbasis i-Posyandu terbukti efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan kader Posyandu terhadap 25 kompetensi, serta berpotensi menjadi model penguatan kapasitas kader di wilayah lain. Integrasi aplikasi digital dalam pelatihan kader dapat mendukung transformasi layanan kesehatan masyarakat melalui pencatatan dan pelaporan yang lebih akurat dan terintegrasi.

Abstract

Background: The biggest demand from students is that during the final semester, students are required to complete their final assignments. Inhibitory problems when preparing a final assignment can cause psychological disorders, which can cause anxiety. Continuous anxiety can affect sleep quality. The less anxious you are in preparing your thesis, the better the student's sleep quality and the more anxious you are, the worse the student's sleep quality. Research Objective: to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in preparing final year undergraduate students' thesis in the undergraduate nursing study program at Muhammadiyah University, Sukabumi. Method: The research used was descriptive correlational with a cross sectional approach with a total sampling method. Respondents in this study were 55 people. Measurements were carried out using the Zung-Self Anxiety Rate Scale (Z-SARS) questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Results: Based on the results of the Chi Square statistical test, it shows a p-value of 0.010 (p-value < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in preparing a thesis for final year students of the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program, Muhammadiyah University, Sukabumi.
