Abstract

During the current pandemic, the utilization of technology is needed in teaching and learning activities. It supports the emergence of Android-based learning innovations. Likewise, biology learning is accompanied by contextual learning related to everyday life. This study aimed to develop learning materials based on contextual teaching-learning and analyze the validity of learning media and cognitive understanding. This research used the 4-D model development method by Thiagarajan (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects were media experts and material experts, while the product's effectiveness was tested on 56 students of class XI MIPA at SMAN 1 Semaka. The results showed that the validation scores of material experts and media experts were 92.39% and 92.61%, respectively, with very valid criteria. Analysis of students' cognitive understanding showed high criteria with an average N-gain value of 0.70 (high criterion). Based on the research analysis results, it can be concluded that learning media mobile learning based on contextual teaching-learning have been valid and effectively used as a learning resource for high school students.

Abstract

Penggunaan bioaktivator dalam proses pengomposan berfungsi untuk mempercepat degradasi bahan organik, sehingga diharapkan mempercepat waktu terbentuknya kompos dengan kriteria yang diinginkan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk : (a) mengetahui fluktuasi suhu, kelembaban dan pH harian pada proses pengomposan menggunakan bioaktivator MOL limbah tomat dan EM4, serta (b) mengetahui kualitas fisik dan kimia kompos yang dihasilkan. Penelitian didesain eksperimen lapang menggunakan rancangan acak dua perlakuan dengan 10 ulangan pengamatan. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah penggunaan bioaktivator MOL limbah tomat dan EM4. Bahan baku kompos terdiri dari sampah daun dan kotoran kambing dengan perbandingan 3:2, dan proses pengomposan berlangsung selama 3 minggu. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter fisik kompos kedua perlakuan memperoleh skor 30 pada masing-masing kriteria warna,bau dan tekstur. Parameter kimia (kadar air, pH, C/N rasio, P2O5 dan K2O) pada kompos dengan MOL limbah tomat berturut-turut : kadar air 58,3%; pH 7,26, C/N rasio 13,98, P2O5 0,38 dan K2O 0.05). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa berdasarkan grafik fluktuasi suhu, kelembaban dan pH harian menunjukkan proses pengomposan berlangsung normal, Dalam waktu 3 minggu, parameter fisik (warna, bau, tekstur) dan parameter kimia khususnya C/N rasio kompos telah memenuhi standar kualitas menurut kriteria SNI 19-7030-2004. Utilization of bioactivator in the composting process aims to accelerate the degradation of organic materials, so the compost is mature more quickly and according to the criteria expected. The purpose of this study was to: (a) know the daily fluctuations in temperature, humidity and pH on the composting process using local microorganisms (MOL) of tomatoes waste and EM4, and (b) know the physical and chemical quality of the compost produced. This study was field experiment using randomized design with two treatments and 10 replications. The treatment is applied is the addition of bioactivator MOL of tomatoes waste and EM4. Compost material consisting of leaves garbage and goat manure with ratio of 3 : 2. The composting process is conducted for 4 weeks. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that physical parameters of compost (colour, smell and texture) of both treatment obtained a score of 30 on each criteria. The chemical parameters on the compost with MOL of tomatoes waste, respectively: water content 58.3%; pH 7.26, C/ N ratio 13.98, P2O5 0.38%. and K2O 0.05%). The study concluded based on the graph daily fluctuations in temperature, humidity and pH, indicating that the composting process is running normally. Within 4 weeks, the physical and chemical parameters of the compost has fulfilled quality standards according to the criteria of SNI 19-7030-2004.

Abstract

Nematoda entomopatogen (NEP) adalah suatu mikroorganisme yang berbentuk cacing berukuran 700-1200 mikron dan berada di dalam tanah. NEP isolat lokal mempunyai karakter ekologis berbeda-beda di setiap wilayah. pH memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap mortalitas NEP. Informasi tentang faktor ekologis terutama toleransi terhadap pH media simpan yang belum diketahui. Tingginya penggunaan pestisida sintetik dapat mengakibatkan hal buruk bagi lingkungan. Agen pengendali hayati NEP memiliki nilai patogenitas yang tinggi terhadap rayap tanah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pH media optimum terhadap viabilitas NEP dua isolat lokal dan mengetahui pengaruh dosis terhadap mortalitas rayap tanah selama 24 jam. Sampel yang digunakan adalah NEP isolat Semarang dan isolat Jember. Isolasi NEP menggunakan ulat hongkong kemudian di panen melalui proses white trap. Hasil analisis uji viabilitas antara dua isolat lokal berkecenderungan meningkat sejalan dengan naiknya level pH. Viabilitas tertinggi ditemukan pada suspensi dengan pH 8, kemudian pada pH 8,5 dan pH 9 cenderung menurun. Viabilitas terendah ditemukan pada pH 5. Pada pH 8 viabilitas NEP isolat Semarang mencapai 91.50% dan isolat Jember 97.14%. Hasil uji mortalitas terlihat bahwa mortalitas rayap tanah berkecenderungan meningkat sejalan dengan naiknya dosis yang diberikan. Pengaruh dosis NEP terhadap mortalitas rayap tanah level konsentrasi yang efektif pada pengamatan 24 jam adalah dosis 250 JI/ml. Terdapat pengaruh pH media terhadap viabilitas serta pH optimum antara isolat Semarang dan isolat Jember sama yaitu pH 8 yang mampu mempertahankan viabilitas NEP tertinggi. Isolat lokal Semarang dan Jember yang efektif berpengaruh terhadap mortalitas rayap tanah yaitu pada dosis NEP 250 JI/ml. Perlu dilakukan uji lanjut dosis yang efektif pada skala lapang untuk mendapatkan dosis yang tepat. NEP biological control agents have a high pathogenicity value against subterranean termites. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum pH media on the viability of NEP two local isolate and determine the effect of dose on mortality of termites for 24 hours. The sample used was NEP Semarang isolates and isolates Jember. Isolation NEP use hongkong caterpillars then harvested through the white trap. The results of the analysis of the viability test between two local isolates tended to rise in line with increasing pH level. The highest viability was found in suspension with a pH of 8, then at pH 8.5 and pH 9 tends to decrease. Lowest viability was found at pH 5. At pH 8 isolates Semarang viability NEP reached 91.50% and 97.14% of isolates Jember. The test results shows that the mortality of termites land mortality tended to increase in line with the increase in the dose administered. Effect of dose on mortality NEP subterranean termites effective concentration level at 24 hours observation is a dose of 250 JI / ml. There is the influence of the media on the viability and the pH optimum pH between Semarang isolates and isolates of the same Jember is pH 8 were able to maintain the viability of the highest NEP. Jember local isolate Semarang and effective influence on the mortality of subterranean termites which the NEP dose of 250 JI / ml. Necessary to test further the effective dose on a scale field to get the proper dose.

Abstract

Tribolium castaneum is one of the warehouse insects that attack post-harvest products. More flour beetles are found in processed post-harvest products such as wheat flour and rice flour. this is because wheat flour has a higher protein content. This study aims to determine the effect of Ageratum conyzoides leaf extract in controlling flour beetles. The design of this study is a complete one-way random design. This study uses 5 different concentrations. Namely 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Babadotan leaf extract was macerated using 96% ethanol. There are 10 flour beetles. To determine the effect of babadotan leaf extract, this observation was carried out using a Y-olfactometer. In addition to knowing what anti-insecta compounds contained in babadotan leaf extract, the extract was analyzed by phytochemical analysis by GC-MS method. The results of the analysis of the effects of babdotan leaf extract were analyzed by Anova one-way statistics and advanced LSD test. One-way Anova results showed a difference in the effect of the concentration of babadotan leaf extract. increasing the amount of concentration shows different effects of repellent. Based on the results of the study, the use of 100% babadotan leaf extract concentration gives a high repellent effect in controlling flour beetles. Kumbang tepung (Tribolium castaneum) adalah salah satu serangga gudang yang menyerang produk pasca panen. Kumbang tepung lebih banyak ditemukan pada produk pasca panen yang sudah diolah seperti tepung gandum dan tepung beras. hal ini dikarenakan tepung gandum memiliki kandungan protein yang lebih tinggi. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek dari ekstrak daun babadotan dalam mengendalikan kumbang tepung. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap satu arah. Penelitian ini menggunakan 5 konsentrasi yang berbeda. Yaitu 0%;25%;50%;75% dan 100%. Esktrak daun babadotan di maserasi dengan menggunakan etanol 96%. Kumbang tepung yang digunakan sebanyak 10 ekor. Untuk mengetahui efek dari ekstrak daun babadotan maka pengamatan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan olfaktometer bentuk Y. Selain itu untuk mengetahui senyawa anti insecta apa yang terkandung dalam ekstrak daun babadotan, maka ekstrak di analisis fitokimia dengan metode GC-MS. Hasil analisis efek ekstrak daun babdotan dianalisis statistika Anova satu arah dan uji lanjut BNT. Hasil Anova satu arah menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak daun babadotan. pertambahan jumlah konsentrasi menunjukkan efek repelen yang berbeda-beda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penggunaan konsentrasi ekstrak daun babadotan seesar 100% memberikan efek repelen tinggi dalam mengendalikan kumbang tepung

Abstract

The training of intensive breeding management has been carried out for duck farmers at district Wedung - Demak, on July-August 2013. The training was conducted in three activities, namely: (a) the transfer of knowledge about technique of preparing duck feed by available material, intensive maintenance , and incubator hatching technique; (b) implementation of intensive maintenance for the fertile eggs product, and (c) the practice of using the hatching incubator. Participants were duck farmer at Mutih Kulon and Tedunan, that maintain their ducks with extensive (grazing method). The results showed that the 27 participants who took the training have never been participated in the training of duck management. The reason of farmer breeding with grazing method, because they follow the habits of their parents. Most participants know that the maintenance of grazing method is bad, and they know that the intensive maintenance will increase the profits. The Proximate analysis of ration duck showed that its composition has taught balanced feed criteria. Production of eggs in the intensive maintenance hatchability reached 92%, eventhough the experiment at the farmer level reached 70.5% only.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectivity of the leaf garbage composting process were given three different kinds of activators.The material composed are chopped leaf garbage and goat manure in the ratio of 3: 2, and make in three activators treatments. There are activators of orange peel waste, vegetable waste and EM4 product as a comparison. Compost is harvested after the composting process lasted for 21 days. The variables measured include (1) changes in daily temperature, pH, humidity compost during the composting process, (2) quality parameters such as physical parameters (texture, colour, odor, and depreciation), and chemical parameters (water content, pH, and C/N ratio). All of data were analyzed descriptively. The changes of daily temperature, pH, and humidity on EM4 compost activator treatment showed highest depreciation (39.3%) followed by compost with vegetable Mol and waste orange peel ( 31.6% and 29.8%), while the graphs of pH and humidity appear constant during this process. Accordance with the percentage of the depreciation, C/N ratio of the compost with EM4 activator showed the lowest (14.73). Generally, parameters of texture, colour and odor no different, as well as the water content and pH. This study concludes that composting treatment successfully and produce compost according to the criteria of SNI standard Number 19-7030-2004.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model aided LKS Creation Respiratory System to student learning outcomes MAN 1 Magelang. This study uses a quasi-experimental design. The sample used is a class XI MIA 6 as control class and XI MIA 5 as experimental class. Sampling technique using cluster random sampling. The results showed that the average cognitive achievement, experimental class is better than the control class, namely 66.97>58.70. Based on data analysis psychomotor learning outcomes, the experimental class get better results than the control class, is 76.67%. On the affective aspects in the experimental group also showed better results is 79.99% while the control group is 62.32% with both good category. Both classes have reached school classical completeness is ≥ 75%. Classical completeness experimental group reached 81.25%, while the control group 75%. The average yield of 91.5% the teacher's performance is very good. In general, teachers and students also respond very well to applied learning. Conclusions from this research is a model of PBL aided the Respiratory System LKS Creation a positive effect on learning outcomes of students of class XI MIA MAN 1 Magelang the academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

Pembelajaran simulasi drama diyakini mampu meningkatkan dan mempermudah siswa dalam mengingat suatu materi yang sulit, dan meningkatkan kreativitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas metode simulasi drama pada materi sistem pernapasan terhadap hasil belajar dan sikap kreatif siswa SMA. Penelitian dirancang menggunakan one group pre-test post-test design. Populasi penelitian ialah seluruh kelas XI MIA SMAN 12 Semarang semester genap Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Sampel diambil dua kelas dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Kedua kelas diberi perlakuan sama yaitu dengan menerapkan metode simulasi drama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan klasikal untuk kedua kelas rata-rata 93% (kriteria sangat tinggi), nilai N-Gain berdasarkan  skor pretes - postes siswa berkategori sedang, dan aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran berkategori sangat aktif. Pembelajaran menggunakan simulasi drama juga dapat menumbuhkan sikap kreatif  siswa pada kategori tinggi dan sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan analisis diatas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa simulasi drama efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar dan menumbuhkan sikap kreatif  siswa.

Abstract

Vertikultur adalah konsep bertanam di lahan sempit dengan memanfaatkan bidang vertikal. Konsep vertikultur sangat cocok dikembangkan di kompleks perumahan yang umumnya memiliki pekarangan terbatas. Dalam rangka meningkatkan kemandirian dan ketahanan pangan keluarga di masa pandemi Covid-19, telah dilakukan kegiatan pelatihan budidaya sayuran dengan teknik vertikultur kepada warga Perumahan Bukit Sukorejo, Gunungpati- Semarang. Kegiatan ini juga akan meningkatkan kegiatan produktif dari rumah sehingga membantu upaya pemerintah dalam mencegah penyebaran Covid-19. Metode kegiatan dilakukan dengan cara pelatihan, dilanjutkan dengan implementasi dan pendampingan. Materi pelatihan mencakup pemahaman vertikultur, pemilihan jenis tanaman, manajemen pembibitan, pemeliharaan serta produksi. Kegiatan sudah terlaksana pada April - Juli 2020. Ada dua macam vertikultur yang diimplementasikan yaitu model instalasi hidroponik, serta model rak bertingkat untuk tanaman dalam pot dengan media tanah. Hasil analisis kegiatan menunjukkan pengetahuan peserta meningkat signifikan (t-test; α<0.05) sebelum dan setelah pelatihan. Dalam implementasinya jenis tanaman yang dipilih yaitu kangkung, sawi, selada, cabai dan tanaman herbal seperti jahe merah, lengkuas, kunyit dan lain-lain. Dalam kegiatan ini disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan dan pendampingan bercocok tanam cara vertikultur terbukti mampu memberdayakan warga untuk memproduksi sayuran secara mandiri. Seluruh peserta mampu mengadopsi pengetahuan dan menerapkannya dalam mengelola bibit, pemeliharaan hingga panen perdana.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different frequency feeding and aging of leaves on increasing weight of silkworm instar IV-V and cocoon production. The research was conducted in Cultivation Center of Silkworm Candiroto, Temanggung. The research design was Factorial Design with three level of age from the leaves (the third – fourth leaves from tip of leaf; fifth-sixth leaves from tip of leaf; sevent-eight leaves from tip of a leaf, and three level of feeding frequency 3, 4, 5 times/day). The parameter observed were average daily gain (ADG), weight of cocoon, and weight of empty cocoon. The data gained were analyzed by analysis of variance and to find out the difference caused on the treatments, Duncan Multiple Range Test was used. It is concluded that the different frequency of feeding and age of leaves is significant (P < 0.05) in ADG of silkworm and weight of empty cocoon. The seventh- eight leaf from tip of a leaf, and frequency of feeding five times/day resulting ADG and empty cocoon of the best.
