Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research are to describe the thinking process of junior high school students with type of climber, camper, and quitter in solving mathematics problems based on Polya’s rule. This was a qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research were taken by using a combined technique of stratified sampling and purposive sampling. The subjects of this research were three 9th grade student of SMP Negeri 1 Jaten Karanganyar regency, which consists of astudent with climber’s type, a student with camper’s type, and a student with quitter’s type. The data collection in this research was conducted through questionnaires and task-based interview technique whichwereused in the subject matter of two variable linear equation system.Thedata validationtechnique used triangulationof time andreferences. The data was analyzed by usingMiles and Huberman’s concept, that was data’s reduction, data’s presentation, and conclusion. The result of this research showed that (1) climber’s student used assimilation thinking process in understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back the answer, (2) camper’s student used assimilation thinking process in understanding the problem, carrying out the plan, and looking back the answer, student used assimilation and accomodation thinking process in devising a plan, and (3) quitter’s student used imperfection assimilation and accomodation thinking process in understanding the problem, student didn’t use assimilation and accomodation thinking process in devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back the answer.Keywords: thinking process, problem solving, Polya’s rule, Adversity Quotient (AQ)

Abstract

Hasil belajar dijadikan tolak ukur keberhasilan suatu proses pembelajaran, termasuk pembelajaran matematika. Masih banyaknya siswa yang memiliki stigma negatif terhadap matematika turut memberikan dampak yang kurang baik terhadap hasil belajar matematika, Oleh karenanya perlu diketahu faktor apa saja yang dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar. Salah satu faktor yang dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika yaitu faktor internal berupa math anxiety dan self efficacy. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan melihat bagaimana pengaruh math anxiety dan self efficay, baik secara masing-masing maupun bersama-sama terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan angket dan tes. Angket digunakan untuk mendapatkan data math anxiety dan self efficacy siswa, dan tes digunakan untuk mendapatkan data hasil belajar. Kemudian data diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan metode regresi linear berganda. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh signifikan baik secara parsial maupun bersama-sama variabel x penelitian terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Temuan ini dibuktikan dengan nilai sig. tiap variabel x pada uji t < 0, 05, dan nilai sig. pada uji F < 0,05.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the pattern of interaction between teachers and students and between students with other students on learning VII grade SMPLB A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung. This research is a qualitative research. The subject of this research is one teacher and all students of class VII SMPLB A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung, amounting to 5 people where 1 student is light blind (low vision) and 4 students total blind. The technique of validity of data used is by triangulation time, that is by seeing the data of an interaction between a teacher with the student and between student on two observations done on a different day. The results of this study indicate that the pattern of interaction of teachers and students with visual impairment in learning VII grade SMPLB A Bina Insani Bandar Lampung is a two-way interaction but without the interaction between students with one student, either in the category of information (BIn) (UIn), as well as delay information (TIn).

Abstract

Proses berpikir merupakan suatu proses yang dilakukan seseorang dalam mengingat kembali pengetahuan yang sudah tersimpan di dalam memorinya untuk suatu saat dipergunakan dalam menerima informasi, mengolah, dan menyimpulkan sesuatu. Proses berpikir siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah masalah matematika berbeda setiap individunya, salah satu faktornya adalah Adversity Quotient (AQ). AQ merupakan suatu kemampuan yang dimiliki seseorang dalam menghadapi dan menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. AQ terdiri dari 3 tipe, yaitu climber, camper, dan quitter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika berdasarkan langkah-langkah Polya ditinjau dari Adversity Quotient (AQ) tipe climber. Penyeleaian masalah matematika dalam penelitian ini menggunakan langkah-langkah Polya.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik angket dan wawancara berbasis tugas. Teknik keabsahan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah triangulasi waktu dan menggunakan bahan referensi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah konsep Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa climber melakukan proses berpikir asimilasi pada tahap memahami masalah, menyusun rencana penyelesaian, menyelesaikan masalah sesuai perencanaan, dan memeriksa kembali hasil yang telah diperoleh.

Abstract

Analytical thinking is a skill to unite the initial process, plan solutions, produce solutions, and conclude something to produce conclusions or correct answers. This research aims to 1) determine whether there are differences in students' mathematical, analytical thinking skills between classes that use the Open-ended learning method and classes that use the lecturing method, 2) to find out whether there are mathematical, analytical thinking skills differences between students with high, moderate, and low self-awareness criteria, and 3) to find out whether there is an interaction between Open-ended learning method and self-awareness toward students' mathematical-analytical thinking skills. This research employs a quasi-experimental design. Based on the data and data analysis, this research is mixed-method research, and the design used in this research is the posttest control group design. This research was conducted on students who have studied the Real Analysis Courses. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was found out that, first, there are differences in students' mathematical-analytical thinking skills between the class that uses the Open-ended learning method and the class that uses the lecturing method. Second, there are mathematical-analytical thinking skills differences between high, moderate, and low self-awareness criteria. Third, there is no interaction between the Open-ended learning method with self-awareness of students' mathematical-analytical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking berbantuan Google Classroom terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMK SWADHIPA 2 Natar. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK SWADHIPA 2 Natar yang dipilih dengan teknik random sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasy experimental design menggunakan desain pretest-postest. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis variansi satu jalan sel sama, dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Pengolahan data ini menggunakan Ms. Excel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan Metaphorical Thinking berbantuan Google Classroom terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.

Abstract

This research entitled Development of Mathematics Based Module of Ethnomathematics using Inkuiri method. This study aims to find out how the development of mathematics learning module based on ethnomathematics using inquiry method, and to know the teacher and student response to the development of mathematics learning module based on ethnomathematics using inquiry method. This research method is Research and Development (R&D) using 4D model. Based on the results of the validation of stage 1 by the material experts obtained a cumulative average of 65.36% with the criteria of "good enough" which means that there is an improvement of some aspects contained in the module. After performing a series of revisions, the average score of cumulative of 84.02% validation with "good" criterion was obtained, so there is no revision of the module. The average score of cumulative validation of stage 1 by a media expert is 60% with a "good enough" code which means that it needs to be revised in some parts of the module. In the second stage of validation, the average cultivation is 86.66% with "very good" criteria so that the module is valid and ready for a field trial. From the results of research teacher response to the module obtained an average of 86.15% with the criteria "very interesting". In the small group trial, the average of 85% was obtained with interesting criteria and large group trial obtained an average of 87.28% with very interesting criteria so that the module is feasible and ready to be used as teaching materials.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematics teaching materials assisted by Microsoft Mathematics applications in class XI students. The research and development method used is the 4D model proposed by Thiagarajan which consists of 4 stages: (1) define; (2) design; (3) develop and (4) disseminate. Researchers used qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. This study uses data collection techniques namely questionnaire (questionnaire) in the form of a Likert scale for students responses. The results of the study are media in the form of mathematics teaching materials assisted by Microsoft Mathematics applications that are suitable to be used as learning media to improve student learning motivation. The feasibility of learning media produced from material experts and media experts is valid and is suitable for use as a learning medium. The response of students to the learning media obtained in the small group test is very interesting with an average score of 83%. In field testing, the criteria for attractiveness are very interesting with an average score of 87%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the Round Club Type of Cooperative Learning model on mathematical communication skills in terms of linguistic intelligence. This research is a type of Quasy Experimental Design research with a  factorial research design. The population in this research were all 7th grade students of SMP Karya Bhakti Panaragan Tulang Bawang Barat. The sampling technique used is the Cluster Random Sampling technique with The Operation of Algebraic Form material. The sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Techniques in data collection used were mathematical communication skills tests and student linguistic intelligence questionnaires. The analytical technique used in this research is a two-way analysis of variance with unequal cells. Based on theoretical studies and calculations, it can be concluded that: there is an effect on students who use the Round Club type of cooperative learning model on mathematical communication skills, there is an influence of linguistic intelligence on mathematical communication skills, and there is no interaction between the Round Club type of Cooperative learning model and linguistic intelligence on mathematical communication skills.
