Abstract

Underground miners highly exposed to thermal stress hazard. Closed condition, heavy work load, and limited ventilation are the common cause of high environment temperature in underground mining. Thermal stress can influence metabolism and physiological function of human body. The objective of these study is to investigate the effect of thermal stress to physiological (bodyweight, blood pressure, urine specific gravity, and heartbeat) of underground miners. This study is observational cross sectional study with 42 underground miners. Thermal stress level is 147.14 Wm2 and categorized as unrestricted zone. These study showed that urine specific gravity, blood pressure, and heart beat on underground miners were change after shift work, while the body weight changes were not observed. The relation among TWL with blood pressure, urine specific gravity, and heartbeat is low category.

Abstract

Chrysanthemum flowers in Indonesia had the highest production rate among other types of cut flowers in 2021-2022. One of the things that needs to be considered in the chrysanthemum farming is production fluctuations that can affect farmers' income. This study aims to: (1) knowing the size and cost of farming income of chrysanthemum farmers in Kandangan District; (2) knowing the value of farming efficiency; and (3) determine the effect of social and economic factors on the income of chrysanthemum farmers. The research location was determined purposively with the consideration that Kandangan Subdistrict is the highest area of chrysanthemum production in Temanggung Regency. The research respondents were selected using the Non Probability Sampling technique, namely census. Data analysis methods used include: (1) analysis of costs and revenues; (2) efficiency analysis; and (3) multiple regression models with the profit function approach. The results showed the average cost of chrysanthemum flower farming in Kandangan Subdistrict is Rp. 125.770.282,42 / Ha, the average amount of revenue is Rp. 265.051.401,87 / Ha, so that the average income earned is Rp. 139.281.119,45 / Ha. The efficiency of chrysanthemum farming is 2,01, which means that every cost of Rp. 1,00 issued by farmers will generate revenue of Rp. 2,01 so that the chrysanthemum farming in Kandangan Subdistrict has been efficient and profitable, so it is worth cultivating.

Abstract

Soybean as one of national important food commodities has a central role in national food policy and the fulfillment of community nutrition. Indonesia is the largest soybean market in Asia by importing as much as 67.28% or 1.96 million tons of domestic soybean needs, while the remaining 32.72% is produced through domestic soybean production. The length of the supply chain from producers to consumers causes the selling value of products to fluctuate and tends to decrease. This study aims to analyze: (1) Supply chain performance and the factors influencing the marketing channel choice of soybeans in Grobogan Regency. (2) Activities that add value carried out in the soybean supply chain and the distribution of value added of these actors in Grobogan Regency. This research was conducted in Grobogan Regency, Central Java. Primary data were collected through interview techniques using a questionnaire. The types and number of respondents consisted of 100 soybean farmers, 10 collecting traders and 3 processing industries. Analysis of the description of the soybean supply chain is carried out using the FSCN process framework. Marketing efficiency is measured from marketing margins, farmer's share analysis, profit and cost ratio. The factors that determine the choice of farmers to the supply chain used, the quantitative approach to the multinomial logit regression model, and the added value analysis used is the Hayami method. Viewed from the marketing margin, farmer's share, also the profit and cost ratio, channel four is more efficient than other channels. There are several factors that influence the decision making of soybean farmers to sell soybeans. Some of the factors are the knowledge that the farmers have, number of sales (harvest) and selling prices. All secondary soy products produced will be able to increase the income of businesses, including soybean farmers

Abstract

Technology's rapid growth has significantly impacted how lecturers incorporate technology into classroom activities, especially when providing feedback. The students will receive feedback during the revision session. There are many techniques for giving feedback on students' writing. For instance, peer and self-feedback are two techniques for checking students' mistakes. Therefore, this research portrays technology as a medium for implementing peer and self-feedback in students' writing. This research aims to describe the integration of media in giving feedback. The media are blogs and Google Docs. This research also gathered students' perceptions of the use of online media. In this research, the researcher implemented qualitative research. This research was conducted by the fourth-semester students of the essay writing class, English Education Study Program, Uin Raden Intan Lampung. The researcher used documentation, an internet survey, and an observation sheet to gather data. The data from the research is analyzed interactively. The findings highlight the significant benefits of utilizing blogs and Google Docs for reflective writing practices. The implication of this research underscores the importance of integrating online media for peer and self-feedback to enhance students' writing skills effectively. This research contributes valuable insight into leveraging technology for academic improvement and fostering a conducive learning environment.

Abstract

The article was to analyse Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Strategy Effective on student’s reading comprehensio, especially in recount text. This research was conducted at tenth grade in second semester at tenth grade SMA 10 Bandar Lampung The design of this research was quantitative research. The subject of this research was 32 students at tenth grade of SMA 10 Bandar Lampung. The result of the research showed that the significant influence was clarified by the assumption of the level of the coefficients correlation between Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Strategy and students’ reading comprehension which was signing positive. Directing to positive correlation means that if the level of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Strategy is high, the level of students’ reading comprehension is also high. In contrast, if the level of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Strategy is low, the level of students’ reading comprehension is also low. Moreover, based on the result of hypothesis testing result (table of correlations) demonstrated that r observed is higher than r table with N = 32, it can be looked at significant either for level 5 % or 1 %. In the table also demonstrated that the level of significant was 1,696 < 10,56 > 2,040. It means that the correlation between Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Strategy and students’ reading comprehension was significant.
