Abstract

Penguasaan kosakata berhubungan erat dengan keterampilan membaca dan keterampilan berbicara yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antara penguasaan kosakata dengan keterampilan membaca dan keterampilan berbicara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasi dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Dengan jumlah responden 60 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes objektif dan tes unjuk kerja. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan adalah uji normalitas, uji hipotesis, dan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, (1) koefisien korelasi atau   sebesar 0,651 lebih besar dari  sebesar 0,266 yang menunjukkan bahwa, variabel penguasaan kosakata mempunyai hubungan dengan variabel keterampilan membaca; (2) koefisien korelasi atau   sebesar 0,945 lebih besar dari  sebesar 0,266 yang menunjukkan bahwa, variabel penguasaan kosakata mempunyai hubungan dengan variabel keterampilan berbicara; (3) koefisien korelasi atau  sebesar 0,602 lebih besar dari  sebesar 0,266 yang menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara penguasaan kosakata terhadap keterampilan membaca dan keterampilan berbicara. Berdasarkan hasil di atas Hα yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of gender demographic variables and program creativity on linguistics and science in prospective teacher students. These students must possess creativity, as it enables teachers to create effective and engaging learning experiences. Creativity in the field of science differs from creativity in the field of language. The measurement of linguistic creativity is conducted through a test based on Chomsky's indicators, while scientific creativity is assessed using a test developed by Hu and Adey. A total of 150 research subjects were obtained through random sampling techniques from students enrolled in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education, English Language Education, and Science Education study programs. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with a correlation approach. Data analysis was carried out using a two-way ANOVA test. The results indicated that the demographic variables related to study program origin had an effect on linguistic creativity, although it was not significant, while they had a significant effect on scientific creativity. The gender demographic variable significantly affected both linguistic creativity and scientific creativity. These findings suggest a need for greater integration of scientific content in language study programs and the incorporation of linguistic activities in science study programs.

Abstract

Micro-teaching, one of the valuable advancements in teacher training, has become a tool for student-teachers to achieve professional teaching skills and foster deeper teaching knowledge. Collaborative skills, considered one of the 21st-century skills, have been identified as an indicator of a successful life. Therefore, Collaborative learning as a teaching approach where students work together on tasks or projects can help develop collaborative skills. Equally important, this research investigates how collaborative learning impacts student-teacher performance and collaborative skills development in micro-teaching classrooms, identifying factors contributing to successful teaching practice. This study employs qualitative research using a case study design by collecting data through questionnaires, documentation, and peer observation. The researchers analyzed 70 student-teachers from the micro-teaching class at Universitas Tidar who had already completed the teaching practice. Descriptive qualitative techniques are used to analyze the data to gain a deeper understanding of the results through data condensation, display, and conclusions. As a result, researchers expect to find that collaborative learning significantly enhances student teaching practice performance in the micro-teaching classroom. Furthermore, students could enhance communication, teamwork, management, problem-solving skills, and active participation during the collaborative learning process.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of Project-Based Learning and pedagogical competence on the science and science learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students. The method used is quantitative research and the data collection method used is the survey one. The results of data analysis regarding Project-Based on science and science learning outcomes for fifth grade elementary school students show a figure of 39.45. This shows that there is a significant influence between Project-Based Learning on the science and science learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students. The results of data analysis regarding the influence of pedagogical competence on science and science learning outcomes for fifth grade elementary school students showed a figure of 46.99. This shows that there is a significant influence between pedagogical competence on the science and science learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students. There is a relationship between Project-Based Learning and pedagogical competence on the science and science learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students. The Project-Based Learning factors and the teacher's pedagogical competence have a positive and very significant influence on the science learning outcomes of elementary school students. The magnitude of the influence on the two independent variables can be seen from R square. It shows the R square value is 0.876 (87.6%), which means that the relationship between Project-Based Learning (X1) and teacher pedagogical competence (X2) simultaneously influence science learning outcomes (Y) by 87.6%. Meanwhile, the remaining 12.4% was influenced by other variables and was not included in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of the e-module on the diversity of living things around in increasing distance learning e-readiness for students. This study uses a research and development approach. The development model used in this study is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research instruments used were pretest questions, posttest questions and questionnaires. The questionnaire used is the e-module validation questionnaire and the practicality questionnaire. The e-module validation questionnaire was filled out by experts and the practicality questionnaire was filled out by students who had used the e-module. Based on the results of the validation analysis carried out by experts, an average value of 3.74 was obtained with valid criteria, indicating that the developed e-module is feasible for use in learning. In addition, based on the results of the practicality questionnaire analysis that has been filled in by students who have used the e-module with percentage of 79.2% is obtained which means that the e-module that has been developed is practical for use in distance learning.

Abstract

Baby blues syndrome is a common condition experienced by mothers after childbirth and can negatively impact both the mother and her baby. Several contributing factors include lack of mental preparedness due to young maternal age and limited parenting experience, as well as the number of children a mother has. This study aimed to identify the factors associated with the occurrence of baby blues syndrome at the Teling Community Health Center in Manado. This was an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique applied was simple random sampling with a total of 59 respondents. Data collection was conducted using the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program and the Chi-Square test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results revealed a significant relationship between maternal age and the occurrence of baby blues syndrome (P-value = 0.000 < α 0.05), as well as between parity and baby blues syndrome (P-value = 0.008 < α 0.05). In conclusion, maternal age and parity are significantly correlated with the occurrence of baby blues syndrome at the Teling Health Center. It is recommended that nurses, as healthcare providers, address not only the physical needs of postpartum mothers but also their psychological well-being. Early identification of emotional disturbances and collaboration with other healthcare professionals in providing counseling and promoting bonding between mother and baby during the postpartum period are essential to ensure optimal maternal mental health and healthy infant development

Abstract

Baby blues syndrome occurs in mothers after giving birth, which has an impact on both the mother and the baby. The purpose of this research was to find out the factors related to the occurrence of baby blues syndrome at the Teling Community Health Center Of Manado. The collected data were processed with the help of the SPSS computer program, data analysis with the Chi Square Test with a significance level of α 0.05. The results of the study showed that there was a correlation between age and Blues Syndrome at the Teling Community Health Center (P value 0.000 < α 0.05). There was a correlation between parity and Blues Syndrome at the Teling Manado Community Health Center (P value 0.008 < α 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is a correlation between age and parity with Blues Syndrome at the Teling Health Center. It is suggested to nurses as caregivers to not only meet physical needs but also psychological needs, especially identifying abnormal deviations as early as possible and collaborating with other health teams in meeting emotional needs through providing counseling, bonding attachment between mothers and their babies during the postpartum period so that mothers get good health and healthy babies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the relevance of the deep learning approach, which emphasizes in-depth understanding, active engagement, and application of knowledge, in line with the demands of 21st-century education and the Freedom to Learn policy. However, students' perceptions of this approach, as the primary subjects of learning, are still limited in Indonesia. Therefore, this study focuses on exploring the perceptions of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students regarding the implementation of deep learning in higher education. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through open-ended interviews with 105 sixth-semester students. The data were then analyzed using thematic analysis. The analysis revealed four main themes of student perception: (1) the importance of meaningful understanding beyond mere memorization, (2) the development of critical and reflective thinking, (3) the need for active learner involvement, and (4) the significance of applying knowledge in real-world contexts. These findings indicate that students understand the essence of deep learning and consider it crucial for relevant and applicable learning. It is concluded that students have positive perceptions and support the deep learning approach, indicating the need for student-centered learning design to optimize the potential of this approach. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh relevansi pendekatan deep learning yang menekankan pemahaman mendalam, keterlibatan aktif, dan aplikasi pengetahuan, sejalan dengan tuntutan pendidikan abad ke-21 dan kebijakan Merdeka Belajar. Namun, persepsi mahasiswa sebagai subjek utama pembelajaran terhadap pendekatan ini masih terbatas dikaji di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengeksplorasi persepsi mahasiswa English as a Foreign Language (EFL) terhadap implementasi deep learning di perguruan tinggi. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terbuka terhadap 105 mahasiswa semester enam. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil analisis mengungkap empat tema utama persepsi mahasiswa: (1) pentingnya Pemahaman yang Bermakna bukan sekadar hafalan, (2) pengembangan Berpikir Kritis dan Reflektif, (3) perlunya Keterlibatan Aktif Pembelajar, dan (4) signifikansi Penerapan Pengetahuan dalam konteks nyata. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memahami esensi deep learning dan menganggapnya penting untuk pembelajaran yang relevan dan aplikatif. Disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki persepsi positif dan mendukung pendekatan deep learning, yang mengindikasikan perlunya desain pembelajaran yang berpusat pada mahasiswa untuk mengoptimalkan potensi pendekatan ini.

Abstract

Bioplastik merupakan material kemasan berbasis biomassa atau bahan terbarukan yang dapat digunakan untuk menanggulangi sampah plastik. Agar dan kitosan diketahui dapat  disintesis menjadi bioplastik. Namun, karakteristik mekanik campuran agar dan kitosan masih belum sesuai dengan ekspektasi yakni memiliki nilai elongasi yang rendah. Plasticizer sangat dibutuhkan untuk memperbaiki karakteristik bioplastik. Penggunaan sorbitol sebagai plasticizer dalam pembuatan bioplastik berbasis agar dan kitosan hingga saat ini belum dilaporkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan konsentrasi sorbitol terbaik terhadap peningkatan karakteristik bioplastik berbasis agar dan kitosan. Metode yang dilakukan adalah mencampurkan sorbitol dengan konsentasi 0%, 1%, 1,25%, dan 1,5% (b/v) pada larutan utama bioplastik yaitu larutan agar 1% dan larutan kitosan 2%. Karakteristik bioplastik diketahui dengan melakukan uji ketebalan, kuat tarik, elongasi, daya serap air, gugus fungsi dengan FTIR, dan uji degradasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi sorbitol mempengaruhi karakteristik bioplastik. Formulasi bioplastik terpilih yaitu perlakuan penambahan sorbitol 1,25% dengan nilai ketebalan, daya serap air, kuat tarik,  dan elongasi masing-masing sebesar 0,096±0,004 mm, 18,80±0,94%, 18,83±2,93 MPa, 95,89±12,62%. Bioplastik dengan 1,25% sorbitol membutuhkan waktu untuk terdegradasi sempurna selama 20 hari. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah karakteristik mekanis dari bioplastik berbasis kitosan dan agar dapat ditingkatkan dengan penambahan sorbitol 1,25% AbstractBioplastic is a packaging material based on biomass or renewable materials that can be used to address plastic waste. Agar and chitosan are known to be able to be synthesized into bioplastic. However, the mechanical characteristics of agar and chitosan mixture are still not in line with expectations, particularly having low elongation values. Plasticizers are highly needed to improve the characteristics of bioplastics. The use of sorbitol as a plasticizer in the production of agar and chitosan-based bioplastics has not been reported to date. The aim of this research is to determine the optimal concentration of sorbitol for improving the characteristics of agar and chitosan-based bioplastics. The method involved mixing sorbitol at concentrations of 0%, 1%, 1.25%, and 1.5% (w/v) in the main bioplastic solution, which consists of 1% agar solution and 2% chitosan solution. The characteristics of the bioplastic were determined by conducting tests on thickness, tensile strength, elongation, water absorption, functional groups using FTIR, and degradation tests. The results of this study showed that the concentration of sorbitol affects the characteristics of bioplastics. The selected bioplastic formulation was the treatment with the addition of 1.25% sorbitol, with thickness, water absorption, tensile strength, and elongation values of 0.096±0.004 mm, 18.80±0.94%, 18.83±2.93 MPa, and 95.89±12.62%, respectively. Bioplastic with 1.25% sorbitol required 20 days to degrade completely. In conclusion, the mechanical characteristics of chitosan and agar-based bioplastics can be improved by the addition of 1.25% sorbitol.
