Abstract

This study analyzes the applicability of the Kuznets curve hypothesis within the specific context of Islamic finance development in Indonesia and its resultant implications for income inequality. The novelty of this research lies in integrating Islamic finance, specifically from the banking sector, with Islamic social finance instruments, namely zakat, infaq, and sadaqah. Crucially, it interrogates whether the Kuznets curve hypothesis remains pertinent within this expanded framework. Utilizing secondary panel data encompassing 25 Indonesian provinces over the 2019–2020 period, the study employs panel data regression techniques, specifically common effect, fixed effect, and random effect models, which were systematically selected via the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange multiplier tests. The empirical findings demonstrate unequivocally that the development of Islamic finance, spanning both the financial and social sectors, significantly influences income inequality. This substantiates the Kuznets curve hypothesis: inequality initially escalates but subsequently diminishes as development matures. Furthermore, the results underscore the role of the Human Development Index (HDI) and the prevalence of mosques in mitigating inequality, while population density exhibits a positive association with inequality. This study conclusively argues that strengthening financial inclusion and professionalizing the management of Islamic social finance constitute strategic approaches for mitigating income inequality in Indonesia.

Abstract

The examination of the J-curve effect has been grown primarily for the case of aggregate trade level in some countries. Most studies assume that the exchange rate affects the dynamics of aggregate trade balance symmetrically. To fill the gap of the empirical studies, this manuscript attempt to revisit the presence of J-curve and analyze the effect of Indonesian Rupiah vis-à-vis Chinese Yuan on bilateral trade balance between Indonesia and China, whether symmetric or asymmetric. We employ autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) and its partial sum concept of nonlinear manner to estimate quarterly data from 2002:I to 2017:IV. The result shows evidence of the asymmetric effect of the exchange rate on the trade balance, and the nonlinear approach provides more support to discover the presence of the J-curve impact of bilateral trade between Indonesia and China.

Abstract

Pariwisata di Gunungkidul berkembang pesat dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, sebagai akibat dari upaya promosi dan pengembangan destinasi wisata yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah daerah dan pengelola wisata setempat. Peningkatan aksesibilitas juga menjadi faktor yang penting dalam perkembangan pariwisata di Gunungkidul. Metode Kegiatan pengabdaian di lakukan melalui rangkain kegiatan yang pangkalnya berorientasi pada penguatan kapasitas masyarakat. Namun pelaksanaanya dilakukan melalui rangkaian, yaitu:  Survey dengan maksud memperoleh informasi tentang kegiatan pokdarwis, untuk disesuaikan dengan pendekatan yang bisa dilakukan dan workshop dan FGD, yang dilakukan bersama pokdarwis. Pembuatan paket wisata memiliki peran penting dalam kemajuan obyek wisata dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Hasil yang dilakukan kepada mitra, pada saat sebelum kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini belum dilakukan, mitra pengabdian yaitu Pokdarwis Tirta Kencana belum ada rencana terkait dengan pengembangan obyek wisata yang dikelola. Berikut adalah beberapa hal yang menjelaskan mengapa pembuatan paket wisata memiliki peran penting tersebut. Dalam kesimpulannya, pengelolaan wisata yang baik dan terencana memerlukan peran serta masyarakat setempat. Dengan menerapkan saran-saran yang telah disebutkan di atas, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas dan keberlanjutan wisata serta memberikan.

Abstract

: This study investigates the impact of infrastructure quality, encompassing roads, clean water distribution, and electricity consumption, on regional economic growth in Central Java from 2018 to 2024. A Bayesian Panel Data Regression model with a hierarchical structure was estimated using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method, assisted by Python programming, to address spatial heterogeneity, lag effects, and parameter uncertainty. Model validation employed Posterior Predictive Checks (PPC), Bayesian R², R-hat statistics, and Effective Sample Size (ESS). The findings reveal that past GRDP significantly influences current regional economic growth, while the direct effects of infrastructure variables are statistically insignificant. This outcome highlights that infrastructure quality is more important than quantity in promoting development. The study advances empirical methodologies by integrating full posterior inference with predictive validation, representing a state-of-the-art approach in regional economic analysis. The results provide strong evidence in support of formulating infrastructure policies that focus on long-term, sustainable Growth.

Abstract

UKM Bakpia Eny 523 di Yogyakarta menghadapi kendala dalam memperluas pasar karena keterbatasan strategi pemasaran, lemahnya branding, dan belum adanya rencana bisnis yang sistematis. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas pegawai UKM melalui pendekatan partisipatif yang menekankan pelatihan praktis dan penyusunan business plan sederhana sebagai fondasi daya saing usaha. Program dilaksanakan dalam empat sesi workshop meliputi konsep pemasaran dan penguatan merek, praktik pemasaran digital menggunakan Instagram, WhatsApp Business, dan marketplace, peningkatan pelayanan konsumen, serta strategi promosi dan penetapan harga. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan kuesioner skala Likert lima poin untuk mengukur lima dimensi utama: pemahaman pemasaran, kemampuan digital marketing, pelayanan konsumen, strategi harga, dan dampak pelatihan secara keseluruhan. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pemahaman pemasaran, penguatan branding, dan kualitas pelayanan, sementara penerapan digital marketing dan strategi harga masih memerlukan pendampingan lanjutan agar lebih optimal. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penguatan keterampilan praktis berbasis digital dan penyusunan rencana bisnis sederhana menjadi langkah penting dalam meningkatkan daya saing serta keberlanjutan usaha UMKM kuliner khas daerah di tengah perubahan pola konsumsi dan dinamika pasar yang semakin digital dan juga perlu dilakukan monitoring minimal selama enam bulan, mencakup evaluasi omzet, konsistensi penerapan branding, serta pelayanan konsumen.

Abstract

Throughout the globe, women's access to finance is disproportionally less than men's. However, technology's emergence has allowed women to strengthen financial inclusion. The combination of digitalization and internet connection has born financial technology (Fintech), which all can access. This paper discusses the impact of Fintech in strengthening financial inclusion as a means for women's economic empowerment through the analysis of Fintech development in China and Indonesia. This paper selects Indonesia and China as both countries have similar proliferation on Fintech, and to some extent, both Fintech developments are influenced by one another. This paper uses a literature review methodology to explore Fintech development and practices that occurred in the two countries. This paper uses published journals, reports, and online articles as primary sources.

Abstract

Abstrak Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) sektor kuliner memegang peran penting dalam mendukung perekonomian nasional. Namun demikian, masih banyak pelaku UMKM yang menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam pengembangan usahanya, termasuk akses permodalan, keterbatasan pemasaran digital, serta rendahnya kesadaran akan pengelolaan limbah yang berkelanjutan. Warung Sate Kambing Pakdhe, yang berlokasi di Bantul, Yogyakarta, merupakan salah satu UMKM yang mengalami ketiga permasalahan tersebut. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi melalui tiga pendekatan utama, yaitu: sosialisasi akses permodalan usaha bagi UMKM, pendampingan digital marketing dengan fokus pada pengelolaan media sosial Instagram, serta pelatihan dan praktik langsung pengelolaan sampah organik melalui metode biopori. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan pendekatan terstruktur melalui beberapa tahapan: survey awal untuk mengidentifikasi masalah, serta pendampingan dengan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam ketiga aspek tersebut. Pendekatan terintegratif ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat kapasitas usaha mitra serta mendorong pertumbuhan usaha yang lebih berkelanjutan dan bertanggung jawab secara sosial dan lingkungan. Kata kunci: akses modal usaha; digital marketing; pengelolaan limbah; UMKM kuliner. Abstract Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the culinary sector play an important role in supporting the national economy. However, many MSME players still face various challenges in developing their businesses, including limited access to capital, inadequate digital marketing, and low awareness of sustainable waste management. Warung Sate Kambing Pakdhe, located in Bantul, Yogyakarta, is one of the MSMEs experiencing these three problems. This Community Service activity aims to provide solutions through three main approaches: socialization of access to business capital for MSMEs, digital marketing assistance with a focus on Instagram social media management, and training and hands-on practice of organic waste management through the biopore method. This community service programme employs a structured approach through several stages: an initial survey to identify problems, as well as assistance with pre-tests and post-tests to measure knowledge improvement. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge and skills in all three aspects. This integrated approach is expected to enhance the business capacity of partners and foster more sustainable, socially responsible, and environmentally responsible business growth. Keywords: access to business capital; digital marketing; waste management; culinary MSMEs.

Abstract

ROA is scale used to calculate bank effectiveness because Return On Assets (ROA) is an important one for calculating profits by utilizing assets owned by a bank. So analyzing the effect of the ratio of Net Interest Margin (NIM), Operating Costs to Operating Income (BOPO), Loan To Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Non-Performing Loans (NPL) on the Return On Assets (ROA) of Bank Rakyat Indonesia is very important to see the level of the health of the bank and the bank's profit. The data used is Bank Rakyat Indonesia from 2009-2020. The results showed that the BOPO and LDR variables had a positive effect on ROA, while the NIM and NPL variables had a negative effect on ROA. The analytical tool used in this research is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM).

Abstract

Regional development is one of few factors of national development. Regional economic growth leads to regional development. This study intends to determine whether regional potency has a substantial impact on Tangerang City's economic growth from 2015 to 2019. The research methods employed in this study are as follows: Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and analyzing the leading, prospective and mainstay sectors in the future. Based on the results of this study, potential sectors in Tangerang City are manufacturing industries, transportation and logistics, and the company services sector. Two of three potential sectors are supported by RPJMD of Tangerang City, are manufacturing industries, transportations, and the logistics sector
