Abstract

Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) remains a serious nutritional problem among pregnant women in Indonesia, particularly in the Balen Community Health Center (Puskesmas) area of Bojonegoro Regency. Socioeconomic status and pregnancy spacing are suspected to contribute to the incidence of CED. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between socioeconomic status and pregnancy spacing and the incidence of CED in pregnant women. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample size of 44 pregnant women drawn using simple random sampling. The independent variables were socioeconomic status and pregnancy spacing, while the dependent variable was the incidence of CED as measured by mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC). Data analysis used the Spearman's Rho test with a significance level of <0.05. The study showed that less than half of the pregnant women had low socioeconomic status (19 women (43.2%), and most of the pregnant women had a safe/ideal pregnancy spacing (37 women (84.1%). The results of the analysis using sperm rank showed a significant association between economic status and the incidence of CED (p = 0.000). women, while pregnancy spacing did not show a significant association. Nutrition education interventions and ideal pregnancy planning are needed to prevent CED.

Abstract

Primigravida mothers after cesarean section may experience anxiety because childbirth is a first-time experience, as well as due to surgical wound pain, limited mobility, and concerns about the baby’s condition. Different childbirth experiences and maternal and infant conditions may result in different anxiety responses. This study aimed to compare anxiety levels between two primigravida mothers after cesarean section with different experiences. This study used a descriptive design with a case study approach involving two clients, Mrs. K and Mrs. N, in the Obgyn Ward of Dr. R. Sosodoro Djatikoesoemo Hospital, Bojonegoro. Data were collected through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and laboratory examinations. Anxiety levels were assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The results showed that Mrs. K experienced moderate anxiety with a HARS score of 25, accompanied by concerns about her baby’s condition and a perception that her pelvis was narrow. Mrs. N experienced severe anxiety with a HARS score of 32 due to her baby being in a breech presentation and having an umbilical cord wrapped around the fetal neck. These findings indicate differences in anxiety levels between the two clients based on their experiences and maternal and infant conditions. With different levels of anxiety, psychological support, health education, deep breathing relaxation, and therapeutic communication may help alleviate anxiety in Mrs. K and Mrs. N according to their individual needs. Nurses are expected to provide psychological support based on the experiences and maternal and infant conditions to help facilitate the postpartum adaptation process. Abstract

The Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) is a health service with a proactive approach that is carried out in an integrated manner for people with diabetes mellitus and hypertension. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between the implementation of family tasks and the compliance of Diabetes Mellitus patients in Prolanis activities. Design of analytic research with cross sectional approach. The population of prolanis DM participants was 84 people with simple random sampling with a sample of 69 respondents. Variable Independent implementation of family tasks and dependent DM patient compliance. Data processing begins with editing, coding, scoring, tabulating, and is analyzed using the Chi Square test and Coefficient Contingency, which are presented in tabular and narrative form. The results of the study were all 11 respondents (100.0%) who carried out family duties well, were obedient to Prolanis activities. Chi Square test results obtained P value = 0.010 < (0.05), so H0 was rejected, then H1 was accepted with a Coefficient Contingency value of 0.342. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the implementation of family tasks and adherence of DM patients in Prolanis activities. Families must increase support, remind the schedule of Prolanis activities, pick up and drop off and increase access to participate in Prolanis activities.
