Abstract

Abstract

This study identifies the influence of servant leadership on teacher creativity. We considered occupational commitment and work engagement as sequential mediators in the relationship between servant leadership and teacher creativity. This current study uses surveys by distributing questionnaires to teachers at the "X" education foundation in one of the cities in East Java. Hypothesis testing uses partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Our study shows that servant leadership does not directly enhance teacher creativity but rather through occupational commitment and work engagement. This finding contributed to the understanding that servant leadership influences teacher creativity through the sequential mediation of occupational commitment and work engagement. As an implication, the "X" educational foundation needs to choose principals who are able to act as servant leaders. In order to effectively increase teacher creativity, servant leaders must provide support and opportunities for teachers that will boost their commitment to their work. Teachers with high occupational commitment will be more engaged with their work, allowing them to become more creative. In addition, various employee management activities, such as training, recognition, and selecting effective school principals, are needed to increase teachers' commitment, engagement, and creativity.

Abstract

Smartphones have become a significant element of Generation Z's life as they are heavily reliant on technology. Nowadays, Generation Z tends to be involved in making purchasing decisions for electronic products. As a result, it is critical to understand better how they make smartphone purchasing decisions. This study aims to analyze the influence of brand and price consciousness on Generation Z's smartphone purchasing decisions. This study also tested the role of gender in the relationship between brand and price consciousness in purchasing decisions. This research design used a survey by distributing Google Form questionnaires to respondents with a Generation Z profile in Surabaya Raya (Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Gresik). One hundred eleven responses were collected and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 software to perform Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The test results show that brand consciousness and price consciousness can enhance purchase decisions. Testing with multigroup analysis (MGA) shows that the influence of brand consciousness on purchasing decisions depends on gender. However, on the contrary, the influence of price consciousness on purchasing decisions does not depend on the gender of the smartphone consumers who participated as respondents in this study. The findings of this study provide an understanding of the importance of organizations comprehending the profile of this new generation and their expectations regarding smartphone products.

Abstract

Organizations need highly engaged workers if they want to achieve great performance. This study investigates work-life balance, career development, and job satisfaction as antecedents of work engagement. This study uses a survey design with questionnaires distributed to Generation Y and Z non academic staff working at a university in Java. Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0 software was used to analyse the 80 responses gathered. Our study finds that work life balance can increase work engagement directly and also through job satisfaction. However, career development can only increase work engagement if employees are satisfied first with their job. This result highlights the importance of universities in designing jobs to ensure employees perceive work-life balance since they have time to enjoy their personal activities. In addition, universities need to create career opportunities for employees that increase their job satisfaction and boost their level of work engagement.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the interest of high school and vocational school (SMA/SMK) students in pursuing further studies and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Students’ lack of interest is often influenced by limited understanding of STEM’s role in daily life and insufficient information regarding study and career prospects. To address this, the team designed a participatory training program involving students from partner schools. The methods included interactive sessions, group discussions, project-based practices, and presentations on study and career opportunities. The results indicated improved student understanding of STEM concepts, increased motivation to explore the field, and stronger interest in considering STEM for future studies and careers. Teachers also gained new insights into STEM-based learning strategies applicable in classrooms. Thus, this training not only strengthened STEM literacy but also supported the development of education aligned with 21st-century demands.
