Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of vermicompost fertilizer and NPK fertilizers, as well as get a perfect dose of NPK and vermicompost fertilizer for the growth and production of green peas. This research has been conducted inexperimental garden Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This study was conducted over three (3) months from April to July 2017. This study was conducted in 3x3 factorial experiments were prepared using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), the first factor vermicompost fertilizer dose (K) consisting of 3 levels: 5, 10 and 15 ton/ha. Factor II dose of NPK fertilizer (P), which consists of three levels :100, 200and 300 kg/ha. From the two factors obtained 9 treatment combinations, each combination treatment was repeated 3 times, so it can conclude that 27 units each experimental trial consisted of 50 plants and 10 plants of which are used as a sample. Parameters measured were plant height, number of productive branches, flowering age, harvesting age, number of pods crop, the percentage of peas pithy, production per m2, weight of 100 seeds. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's multiple range test at 5% level. Vermicompost and NPK fertilizer interaction real effect on plant height and effect no significant effect on other parameters. The combination of vermicompost fertilizer 15 ton/ha and NPK 200 kg/ha is the best treatment with the result per m2121.92 g (1.21 ton/ha). The planting of green peas Vima 1 variety it would be best to use vermicompost fertilizer15 ton/ha and NPK fertilizer 200 kg/ha. Keywords: green peas, vermicompost fertilizer and NPK

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer application of banana fruit peel and get the best dose for the growth of areca seedlings. This research was conducted at experiment station of agriculture faculty of University of Riau from July to November 2017. This research was conducted in the form of experiment using completely non-factorial randomized designconsisting of 5 levels and 4 replications. The liquid organic fertilizer of banana fruit peel consists of 0, 250, 500, 750, 1000 ml.10 kg-1 medium. Data have been statistically analyzed and examined further with using the duncan's new multiple range test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that increased dosage of liquid organic fertilizer banana fruit peel increased the accretion height of seedlings, dry weight and shoot root ratio, but no increase the leaf number accretion, stem circumference and widest leaf area.The dosage of liquid organic fertilizer of banana fruit peel of 750 ml.10 kg-1 medium gives the increase of accretion height seedlings, dry weight and the highest shoot root ratio in 6 month old areca seedlings.Keyword : Seedlings, liquid organic fertilizer of banana fruit peel, growth

Abstract

The research has conducted at the green house of Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from September 2011 toDecember 2011, to study the growth response of palm oil seedling on peat soil with different flooding periods. Theexperimental units were arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatment flooding periods and sixreplications. Three flooding periods were: no flooding, 5 days of flooding period and 10 days of flooding period. The datawere analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test. (DNMRT) at level 5%. The result showed that theperiodical flooding inhibited the enhancement of plant height, leaves number, stem diameter, primary roots number, rootvolume and dry weight palm oil seedlings but enhanced shoot the root ratio. Palm oil seedling could survive by periodicalflooding condition by forming adventitious roots. The number of adventitious roots in the 10 days flooding period weresignificantly different from these the 5 days flooding.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the effect of giving Aloe Vera Biofertilizer Liquid and to get the best concentration to increase the growth of Robusta coffee seeds. This research was conducted at experimental station of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. This research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design consisting of five treatments and four replications. The treatment in this study was the treatment without Aloe Vera Biofertilizer Liquid, Aloe Vera Biofertilizer Liquid concentration 5 ml.l-1 air, 10 ml.l-1 air, 15 ml.l-1 air and 20 ml.l-1 air. The data obtained were analyzed by variance and tested further with Duncan new range test at the level of 5 %. The observed parameters were increase in plant height (cm), increase in stem base circumference (cm), increase in number of leaves (strands) and leaf area (cm2). The results showed that the application of Aloe Vera Biofertilizer Liquid with a concentration of 20 ml.l-1 air is the best concentration in increasing the growth of Robusta coffee seeds. Keywords :Coffee Seed, Aloe Vera Biofertilizer

Abstract

This research was intended to find out the effect of interaction between AB mix nutrition and tofu liquid waste in order to get the best AB mix concentration and tofu liquid waste concentration for the plant growth and cucumber plant yield (Cucumis sativa L.) hidroponically. This research took place in the Green House of Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau during July to November 2017. This research was conducted experimentally by using complete randomized factorial design (RAL) which have two factors and three replication. Factor 1 the concentration of AB mix nutrition (K), where: K1 = 0 ml, K2 = 2 ml.l-1,K3 = 4 ml.l-1 and Factor 2 the concentration of tofu liquid waste (L) with: L1 = 20%, L2 = 40%, L3 = 60%, L4 = 80%. The result showed that, the interaction of AB mix concentration and tofu liquid waste indicated non significant effect on all parameters. The single factor of AB mix indicated non significant  effect on the length and the diameter of fruits but had significant effect on other parameters. In a single factor tofu liquid waste indicated a significant effect only on the length of fruits. Therefore, the application of 4 ml.l-1 of AB mix concentration and 60% concentration of tofu liquid waste indicated the best result of plant growth and the production of the cucumber.Keywords: AB mix nutrition, tofu liquid waste, cucumber, hydroponic

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the effect guano and N fertilizer and to get the best interaction for the growth and production of sweet corn crops(Zea mays saccharata Sturt). The research was conducted at Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The study was conducted for four months from November 2017 until January 2018, implemented withCompletely Randomized Block Design (RAK), Factorial consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor of guano fertilizer (G) consists of 3 levels: G0 = guano fertilizer with dose 1.500 kg.ha-1 (600 g/4 m2), G1 = guano fertilizer with dose 2.000 kg.ha-1 (800 g/4 m2), G2 = guano fertilizer with dose 2.500 kg.ha-1(1000 g/4 m2). The second factor of urea (N) consists of 3 levels: N0 = urea with dose 0 kg.ha-1 (0 g/4 m2), N1 = urea with dose 50 kg.ha-1 (20 g/4 m2),N2 = urea with dose 100 kg.ha-1 (40 g/4 m2 ). The observed parameters were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, harvesting age, weight of cob/plot weight without cob/plot, length of ear, ear diameter, number of rows of seeds/ear, sugar content in seeds. The results showed guano fertilizer with dose 2.500 kg. ha-1 and urea with dose 100 kg. ha-1 resulted in plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, harvesting age, the weight of cob/plot weight without cob/plot, length of ear, ear diameter, number of rows of seeds/ear, sugar content in the seeds were higher compared to other treatments. Abstract

The Research aimed to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer concentration and interval application on growth and production of mung bean in order to get dosage. This research was conducted at the experimental station of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, from january 2017 to april 2017, by using randomized block design (RBD) method, 3 replicarions, which consist of two factors. The first factor is, the concentration of liquid oraganic fertilizer dosage consisted of 4 levels (0, 15, 25 and 35 ml/l) and the second factor is, interval application of organic liquid fertilizer, consisted 3 levels (5, 10 and 15 days). The parameters observed were plants height, brunch number, flowering age, pod total, filled out pod percentation, 100 seed weight, and production per plot (4 m2). Observationts of each parameter were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and Duncan's new multiple range test (DNMRT) with level of 5%. The results show that the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer 15 ml/l and interval 10 days is the appropriate dosage to increase the growth and production of mung bean.Keywords: Mung Bean, Liquid organic fertilizer

Abstract

ABSTRACT               Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) Is one type of plantation that occupies the most important position in the agricultural sector, this is because oil palm is able to produce the largest economic value per hectare compared to other oil-producing or fat plants. Indonesia has a great opportunity to develop oil palm plantations, one of the provinces that is the center of oil palm development in Indonesia is Riau province. The positive impact of oil palm expansion besides being able to increase people's income, also expanding employment, while the negative impact caused damage to the properties of the land. This study aims to obtain the right dosage of OPEFB to breed worms and improve infiltration in inceptisol soil. This research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and four replications to obtain 16 experimental units. The factor used was 4 doses of OPEFB compost. The treatment of 430 g per 900 cm² was the best treatment for the development of earthworms as indicated by the highest number of tillers, number of cocoons, total earthworm weight and rate of soil infiltration Keywords: Palm oil plants, oil palm empty bunches, earthworms

Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the effect of biochar with the best NPK fertilizer that gives the best impact on the gr owth and productions of soybean. The experiment was conducted in an experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, in February until Juni 2019, the experimentallyusing factorial 4x2 conducted arranged completely randomized design (CRD) consist of four levels of biochar (control; 5 ton.ha-1 ;10 ton.ha-1;15 ton.ha-1) and two levels of NPK fertilizer (125 kg.ha-1;250 kg.ha-1). The data was analyzed of varience and further with the New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Parameters observed wereinternodes  length, number of branch, flowering time, harvest time, the percentage of pithy pods of plant, crop seeed weight, productivity (g.m-2) and weight of 100 seeds. Result showed the application of biochar and NPK fertilizer has a significant effect on internodes  length, number of branch, the percentage of pithy pods of plant, crop seeed weight, productivity (g.m-2). Interaction between 10 ton.ha-1 biochar at NPK 250 kg.ha-1 gave the best impact on the growth and productions of soybean. Keywords: Biochar, NPK fertilizer, Soybean.

Abstract

The research was aimed to see the effect interaction of giving tofu dregs compost and npk fertilizer to get the right dose towards growth and the highest production of purple eggplant. The research was conducted at Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted for 5 months, from february to june 2020. The reasearch was conducted experimentally in 2 factors. The first factor was the of tofu waste compost consists of 3 levels (0, 10 and 20 ton.ha-1). The second factor was the of NPK fertilizer (0, 100 and 150 kg.ha-1) which consist  of nine treatments combination. The observed parameterswere  the height of the plant (cm),  the days of flowering (days), the days of harvesting (days), the  fruit length (cm), the fruit diameter (cm), the number of fruits per plant (fruit), the fruit weight per fruit (g), the fruit weight per plant (g) and the fruit weight with plot (g). The data  in this research was analyzed in using variance and followed by Duncan's multiple distance test at 5% level.  The results showed that tofu waste compost and NPK fertilizer increased the growth of eggplant such as  the height of the plant,  the days of flowering, the days of harvesting, the number of fruits per plant, the fruit length, the fruit weight per fruit, the fruit weight per plant and the fruit weight with plot and does not increase fruit diameter. The giving tofu waste compost at a dose  20 ton.ha-1  and NPK fertilizer 150 kg.ha-1  gave the best eggplant growth and production until the plants were 90 DAP
