Abstract

This study aims to analyze the leadership dynamics within Top Management Teams (TMT) and their influence on strategic decision-making in Indonesian banks. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through document analysis and indirect interviews. The results indicate that diversity within TMT, in terms of educational background, experience, and gender, positively influences the quality and innovation of strategic decisions. This diversity allows TMT to develop decisions that are more adaptive to external changes, such as technological advancements and regulatory changes. However, challenges arise in the decision-making process, particularly regarding difficulties in reaching consensus among TMT members. The power dynamics within TMT, whether centralized or distributed, also play an important role in strategic decision-making. These findings provide important insights for Indonesian banks to strengthen internal collaboration and diversity to create more innovative and adaptive strategic decisions in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the interaction between power, culture, and learning in the formulation of organizational strategy. Power within an organization, which is distributed across various levels, affects who can make strategic decisions and how these decisions are accepted and implemented. Organizational culture, encompassing values, norms, and customs, plays a crucial role in determining how strategies are developed and executed. Organizational learning, as a continuous process of acquiring knowledge and experience, allows organizations to adapt to market and technological changes. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing document analysis and relevant literature studies. The results indicate that these three elements interact and significantly influence the formation of organizational strategies. Organizations that can effectively manage power, culture, and learning have a greater chance of formulating and implementing successful, adaptive, and sustainable strategies. However, a lack of harmony among these elements may hinder the effectiveness of the strategies implemented. Therefore, it is crucial for organizational leaders to understand these internal dynamics and ensure that these three elements support each other in strategy formulation and execution.

Abstract

This article discusses the application of competitive strategy and collaborative strategy in the emergence of new industries in Indonesia, focusing on two key sectors: fintech and renewable energy. In the fintech industry, companies such as GoPay, OVO, and DANA use competitive strategies to gain an advantage through product differentiation and cost efficiency. On the other hand, in the renewable energy industry, collaborative strategies involving partnerships between companies, the government, and research institutions play a crucial role in overcoming infrastructure and financing challenges. This article demonstrates that although these two strategies are often viewed as separate approaches, they complement each other and are key in creating a growing industrial ecosystem. Based on this analysis, it is recommended that companies in Indonesia integrate both strategies to foster sustainability and growth in emerging industries.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) implement adaptive strategies that lead to global readiness in the digital economy era. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were obtained through in-depth interviews with eight MSME actors. The findings reveal that the strategy of glocalization helps expand global market reach through digitalization, product innovation, the use of globally oriented social media, digital partnerships across regions, and the exploration of international market access. The research highlights that both digitalization and product innovation play crucial and complementary roles in enabling MSMEs in Sumbawa Regency to penetrate export markets amid increasingly competitive global economic challenges. Digital transformation facilitates easier access to market information, opens broader distribution networks, and enhances efficiency in marketing processes and communication with consumers. This study demonstrates that the courage and resilience of MSMEs have shown significant potential for integration into the global trade ecosystem. It underscores the importance of adapting to and leveraging digital technologies in modern business practices. Conceptually, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of locally based global strategies among small business actors. It emphasizes the need for continued mentoring, training, and the provision of technological infrastructure to achieve sustainable growth in the digital era.

Abstract

The traditional distinction between competitive and cooperative strategies is becoming less relevant in today’s complex and dynamic global business environment. This article offers a new perspective by integrating both approaches through the concept of coopetition—a combination of collaboration and competition—as an adaptive and sustainable strategy. Drawing on a literature review and conceptual analysis, the study examines how firms can simultaneously cooperate and compete within the global business ecosystem, considering contextual factors such as the growth of emerging economies, political dominance, technological disruption, and social demands. The findings indicate that a well-balanced application of coopetition can enhance innovation, share risks, optimize resources, and strengthen long-term competitive advantage. This study contributes to the theoretical development of strategic management and provides practical guidance for business practitioners in designing strategies that are responsive to global environmental changes.

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a pivotal role in driving economic growth and employment, particularly in emerging economies. However, their performance is often constrained by limited resources, weak strategic alignment, and insufficient technological integration. Grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Dynamic Capabilities framework, this study examines the influence of innovation, strategic planning, and technology adoption on SMEs’ performance. Data were collected from 100 SME respondents in Indonesia using purposive sampling, and the analysis was conducted through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The findings demonstrate that strategic planning significantly enhances SMEs’ performance by improving internal alignment and market responsiveness. Innovation, while essential, shows inconsistent effects, as its benefits depend on managerial capability and resource readiness. Moreover, technology adoption emerges as a critical factor, strengthening the positive impact of strategic planning and mitigating the risks of poorly managed innovation. The results highlight that SMEs must balance innovation efforts with systematic planning while integrating technology to ensure sustainable competitiveness. This study contributes theoretically by advancing the integration of RBV and Dynamic Capabilities in SME performance research, and it provides practical insights for managers and policymakers to foster digital readiness, strategic orientation, and innovation driven growth.
